Roll Call 2011 - post all your updates!

Thanks girls! The nurse took my bloods today ( 4 little tube things) and said the dr has asked for full hormone tests. She said to make an appointment for next Thursday to give time for the results to be returned. Typical though no appointments till Tues the 12th. Seems like AGES now but guess it will have to do. Our anniversary is the 13th so secretly hoping the results are not going to spoil it!

After finding out a couple of weeks back that the waiting list I was on to see a Gynae was 6 months(!!) I went back to my doctor and asked (quite forcefully) if he would refer me for a scan - which he did! :yay: So hopefully I will get a letter any day now for an appointment! Im really happy that things seem to be moving along now! Im not sure if it will be just an external scan or an internal one? The doctor was quite unpleasant and stroppy and didnt say :(

Hi Hun,

Hope you're well, can you believe it's a year nearly since we got out first BFPs, it has to be our turn soon.

Glad you've pushed things forward, you really need to be assertive (bordering on aggressive!) to get anywhere with the NHS when it comes to fertility! :)

xx

Hiya Maybe :) yeah I cant believe it was nearly a year ago now - I was really positive to begin with too as I'd heard that you could be more fertile after a mc, and lots of people went on to get preggers really quickly.

Some months I'm more optimistic than others, but I try not to get my hopes up too much these days as it always hurts even more when af shows up - I'm sure you feel the same too! The odds must be in our favour tho as we have been waiting more than long enough now!

It has taken me quite a while to realise that I have to be more pushy at the doctors, no-one seems to realise how important it is to us do they?

Hi Hun,

Well I've been the opposite I've had 4 chemicals since then so I get halfway there, not that that's much use lol!

FX for this month and lot's of babydust!
:dust::dust::dust::dust::dust::dust::dust::dust:

xx

Aw hun, I really feel your frustration - I've been following your journey along with everyone elses. I haven't been very vocal as I've been finding it quite hard myself, and to be honest, sometimes you just dont know what to say to help?

I hope the progesterone cream works for you - I know that I have started looking into it and anything else that may help, when I first started ttc I browsed another forum for a while before I came here and many of the ladies on there who had been ttc for a while were singing its praises and recommending it - so it sounds good :)

Hey Chaz! Hope you get an appointment soon. I was referred 3 months ago and I phoned the hosp a couple of weeks back to be told the waiting list was 6 months! If you're impatient like me you can call the hospital and ask them how long it will take, and if it is ages your doc may be able to speed things up with another letter (however you will officially have the nicest doctor in the world if he does that!)
Good luck!

Oh chaz hope you get an appointment quick, good luck x

I have an appointment at the recurrent M/C clinic on the 4th August, they've asked Hubby to come and said they're gonna do some bloods, I'm assuming chromosomes as I've asked for that but does anyone know what other bloods you can have especially on the man's side, Lou I'm guessing you'll know.

So far I've had-

FSH, LH, Thyroid, Kidney, Prog, Rubella, Antibodies, Lupus.

I've also had swabs for sti's and a smear.

All have been good results apart from 2 slightly iffy progesterone ones, I do need to check this again but I'm doing my progesterone experiment this month.

xx

Maybe, when i had my RMC testing, hubby only has the chromosome ones done. Dont think there is anything else except sperm analysis that they need.

I also had a full clotting planel which is quite a few bottles. I think there are also a few immune blood tests that the do besides lupus and anticolagulant.

I also had a full blood count, LFT'S ect.

Glad you got a quick appointment, maybe they will suggest HSG or something also?
