I have heard the raspberry leaf tea can help to prepare you for labour. Just wondering if anyone has taken it? When did you start and how much? Would it work the same if you took capsules?

Also if anyone else has any other tips, it would be much appreciated. It is our first baby so don't know what to expect.

I had raspberry leaf tea with my son and the tablets with my daughter. It helps to tone your uterus and can help create more effective contractions when you go into labour. I actually found the tea more effective than the tablets so I've just started with it again at 32 weeks. One cup a day gradually building up to 3 cups a days xxx

I did the tea and tablets. I went into labour the day after my due date. Was in labour 18 hours as she was back to back and distresssd (grade 3 meconium in my waters) and ended up having a firceps delivery in theatre. That means I went through gas and air, diamorphine, epidural with 3 top ups as it kept wearing off and finally a spinal block when they thought they might do a c section. Therefore I'm not sure about it helping with contractions as I was in agony but they did tell me that I went far longer before asking for the gas and air than people normally do and obviously I also didn't go far past my due date so maybe the raspberry leaf helped in those respects x

I drank raspberry leaf tea from 36 weeks with my little girl. Had a good few cups a day, often squishing everything I could get out of 2 or 3 tea bags in the same cup. My labour was just over an hour long, very painful and intense... May not be having quite so many of them this time! X

I've ordered some organic raspberry leaf tea on a friend's recommendation and it should be coming tomorrow or Tuesday. She said to have 3 cups a day. Worth a try I guess xx

I drank the tea, took evening primrose oil capsules and everything else I could think of last time but had an emergency section as I didnt progress past 4cm in induction :( im taking raspberry leaf tablets and epo again now though as makes me feel productive :P xxx

I took the caps aswell as the tea.

I have nothing to compare it to as it was my 1st pregnancy. But i had a fairly good and fast labour.
1st contraction was 10.30am and i went to hosp 1pm 3cm. By 4pm i was 7cm, 5pm 10cm and he was born 5.44pm.
Just over 7hrs from my 1st contraction.

The mws were very happy with how fast my uterus contracted back after birth. And heavy bleeding stopped a week later.. Then light bleeding till week 2-3.

Id defo take it again in next pregnancies.

But i started taking it at 34wks, and was still 10days overdue and 3 sweeps later before he arrived lol! So defo didnt help 'induce' labour! Lol xx

Good to hear other ppls stories, Im doing epo insert only, cant stand anything tea related so no point trying the raspberry leaf. EPO worked for us for conceiving so hoping it will do the same. Is there a benefit to doing oral and insert and they are 1000mcg per cap and so figures one dose on the spot so to speak was sufficient...?
