im sure its been loads of threads on this :wall2:
im buying some capsules tomorrow but had a look on internet and it says that
"Tablets - Take two 300mg or 400mg tablets with each meal (three times a day) from 32 weeks."

6 tablets a day??? plus the 2 EPO it will shock my body surely?

anyone think this sounds about right??

Sorry hun not sure as im drinking RLT a couple of cups a day and starting epo tonight

it does sound a lot tho!

That seems a little too much to me Isobel, did you ask the shop assistant? I started having a cup of rlt (equiv to 1 tab i think) once a day at 32 weeks then at 34 upped that to 1 cup and 1 tab. I'm going to start having 1 cup and 2 tabs from 37 weeks onward. I only started the epo at 36 weeks, one tab a night and will up that to 2 tabs a night at 38 weeks.

I think you need to build it up gradually as you say, it could shock your body a bit.

I'd definately ask or google it x sounds alot!

yeah i dont want him to fly out from shock already!
i will prob just take 2 of each a day or 1 plus a cuppa, but why if i dont like the tea. dont like the sound of it.

I've been having one cup of the tea per day for the last week- will up that to two cups a day at 36 weeks. As for the EPO tablets, I think I'll start taking one per day from 36 weeks too.

I just want to do a little to help but am not taking much of either because if it helps then great, but I've seen too many people on here who it hasn't worked for so I don't want to focus on it and get my hopes up.

can i ask what is this supposed to do ?

"Raspberry leaf tea also contains the alkaloid 'fragine' which is said to strengthen and tone the muscles of the uterus, helping them to contract more efficiently during labour. Research has found that taking raspberry leaf during the weeks prior to delivery helps to shorten the second stage of labour by making contractions more effective. Some studies have also found that it reduces the need for an assisted delivery (i.e. an emergency cesarean or use of forceps or ventouse).

Sipping raspberry leaf tea during and after the birth is also said to help the uterus contract back down to size, reduce after birth bleeding and help initiate the let down of breastmilk."

i wont be touching the stuff as iv had a csec but drank loads first time round and it made no difference at all :(

I read an article that said there's no proof that it makes any difference except to help uterus go back after birth-will try to find it x

Not the article I was reading but this is about rlt and epo-will endeavour to find the article though

I drank RLT with my first pregnancy from 36 weeks like 6 cups a day went all out (really enjoyed the taste) and it did bring the Braxton hicks on really strong - but I was in slow labour for 1 month then went on a drip for 24hrs and ended up having a c section because belle got her head stuck and I wasn't favourable for dilation and wasn't progressing so this time I'm having EPO at least it will soften up everything so hopefully I will dilate quicker as i got stuck at 3-4cm for hours with my other two x
