Can a put aqueous menthol on limbs like tops of arms & thighs?
Mw said I could take a piriton as well as the prescription one so going to try that. They say it can trigger early labour but I'm 38 weeks tomorrow so not worried about that!
Do you have itching on palms & soles? I'm just being monitored now to see if it develops but my itching is everywhere but less on the palms & soles which is why mw thought I had the wrong diagnosis.
Do you have a fan? My cotton sheer in the noddy with a light blanket over that really helps me, I put the cotton between my thighs & arms over to stop the itching.
19 sleeps I hope that goes quickly I've done ten and the thought of more makes me wince!xx

U can put the menthol cream anywhere-just it burns! Or certainly on me! Haha. Yep I sleep naked with a fan and a sheet. Pjs go on about 8am when I go bk to ned cause I'm frozen!!!

I've been taking 3 piraton a day but it's an anti histamine so I really don't believe it works for oc. And I've never heard it brings on early labour! Eeeeeek, might have to up the dose!!!! Joking. I was diagnosed with it at 27 weeks so what's another 18 days!!! My oh can only stay with me 2 nights a week at the moment mainly cause of work but my itch is driving him nuts too.
I'd not wish this on anyone!! Off to mw at 2pm, wasn't due to see them till next week but when I called in tears on Monday and she said 'it's not the end of the world Gayle' and I cried more she said I should come in today! It's maybe not the end of her world but when u can't sleep it's bloody awful! Aaaaaah!

What a horrible thing to say.. You need support not comments like that! It's hard enough not having anyone around who understands but to go to your mw for help and get that response? 
I have a team of 4, that ones very old school. Thankfully the others are like angels. I was upset but probs more than normal cause I was dead beat! Thing is, id not totally understand had I not have been through it! Will get bloods checked and results in the morning. Xx

Silly MW! I'd be more inclined to say time stands still and feels like an eternity not it's the end of the world! I nearly cried at my mw appointment but I was welled up when she said I need to go for a reduced movement assessment! :/
I covered myself head to toe in this cream & for 15 minutes felt like I'd gone into a freezer! Its total bliss the sensation, thanks for the tip you have saved me icepacking everywhere before bedtime!

I was going to do a fake tan tonight but not sure I can face a night without cream. Laughing at the thought of eyes being dry, so true! Haha!
Mw appointment was fine. She says my BP low, baby's HB lower than usual and cause of reduced movements I've to monitor for 24 hours and call tomorrow. Although I had a curry for tea and a bottle of coke and guess what? My disco dolly does the conga in my tummy. took more bloods today. Wonder what your is then. Odd hu? Did u have high bile acids? Though they told me they don't have to be high cause it's with the itch too they make a diagnosis. Xxx

They said bile was low but liver was high? (i think) what was yours?
So typical, I drink ice cold pop to shaken things up, karma will come back and bite me on the butt with revenge when LO screams in the night thinking "how do you like being woken up eh?!!"
My babys hb was lower but she said it can reduce a little towards the end...phew!
They said they need regular bloods now because sometimes the itch presents it's self first before the bloods...feel like I'm back in school learning things!xx

If it's OC they look to induce you At 37 weeks depending on if you can cope & risk factors associated with OC .

I was mis diagnosed with OC as my liver results were abnormal but bile results were normal. OC is normally itchy palms and soles were as I would have what looked like hives that spread every where. Only ice packs & a fan would help me sleep.
In the end I had antihistamines as I was past 37 weeks and given menthol aqueous cream which is fantastic, I went from spending nights in tears from lack of sleep and scratching my self senseless to sheer relief. I really feel for you it's crap!!!
The cream helps even now as I suffer from itchy legs and feet. I think it's hormonal I'm pretty sure I had PUPPS and apparently there was a statistic that 70% of women who suffer have boys something to do with an adverse reaction to their hormones and I had a boy!
Good luck with your tests hope it's not OC and a hormonal surge which will pass soon!xxx

I've just had a quick read and now worried I have this. I keep having intense itching everywhere. It wakes me up consistently. I had an upset tummy for a couple of days and last night I woke up with very severe stomach pain. I couldn't sit or keep still. I called NHS direct who were very concerned and told me to call delivery suite. They wouldn't take me in due to the sickness and pain ceased then anyway. Does this sound like this?

I'd go see your gp who should do a blood test or your mw. I did this to have OC ruled out this week and even though they came back clear mw still wants to keep checking bloods on a weekly basis because of itching so def give her a ring or see your gp xx
My bumps been itching all week on and off, it only really occurs at night and i've been putting cream on it and it comes and goes. When it itches I really want to scratch it but try and stop myself and it doesn't itch all the time. Wondering if it's just because my skin is stretching or if it could be something else. There isn't a rash so I've ruled out PUPPPS for the moment. I'm thinking it could be OC as I'm carrying twins so apparently there's more of a chance. I'll be delivering in 2 weeks anyway (before 37wks) so not sure if they'll bother putting me on meds?
I have a hospital appointment next Wednesday but not sure if I should wait until then to do bloods, don't know if I could get an earlier blood test though without going to hospital which is quite far. As I haven't had itching anywhere but bump and don't seem to have any other symptoms maybe I'm ok

Thanks Doob. Think i'll call the hospital tomorrow and speak to a MW there because my MW is useless haven't seen her or heard from her in over 2 months and i'm high risk and she's never helped with anything. My bump has been itching all day and it won't stop so definitely something I need to get looked at
