Hi, I had an episiotomy after birth with stitches of muscle and skin, finally plucked up courage to have a feel three months later and there's a hard lump on entrance to canine (sorry tmi!) anyone experienced this?? Read online it could be scar tissue... Would this go by itself? Thanks for any advice!

Didn't want to read and run and don't want to scare you but if it is scar tissue my bestie had that and had to have surgery to have it removed as it was so uncomfortable but a few weeks afterwards was back to normal as if it was never there. It might have been her personal choice though rather than necessary though x

Thanks Lucy, it's kind of in the way when we finally want to dtd again... So if it'd peanut go on its own I may have to have it removed... Will ring docs Monday... Just got the weekend to worry!!

That's the problem my friend had, it got in the way. It's worth speaking to docs as if it is there might be a bit of a wait if you decide to get it removed and in the meantime it might go anyway x

I had something similar after I had my 1st son. I didn't have a episiotomy with my 2nd baby bit i did have a 2nd degree tear and the Dr basically said who ever repaired me last time made a mess and she had neatened it up !! I was considering going to the drs but I fell pregnant again. X

Hi Karen,

I had a double episiotomy and 17 weeks on I have a lump down there, kind of feels like a ridge. My muscle healed properly, but not the skin over it. I'm seeing the consultant at begining of October as been told I need corrective surgery, so please go to your gp Monday. We tried dtd for first time on Wednesday night and couldn't, it was really painful :-( xx

Oh no blueeyes :( I will definitely get it checked out then! I have a gyno app next week due to still bleeding from a possible polyp but guess this may be different unit so best go docs sooner.... What a pain! Never hear of these things after you get your lovely baby!!

I have a wee lump where my stitches were it's all healed but sometimes gets a bit sensitive or itchy I just put canesten on it and it fixes it.

Xxx
