Hi everyone

So I know it's normal to go overdue, especially for first baby but I'm seriously fed up and getting more worried about induction as each day passes!

I need some overdue stories please... How far did you go over etc etc?

thanks xxx

Ps I'm 4 days over and ive had 2 sweeps!! ive tried everything from dtd, hot baths, hot food, long walks, bouncing on birth ball, scrubbing floors!

I had 2 sweeps, tried everything going - sex, really long walks, jumping about, eating curry etc etc etc and I still went 9 days overdue. As you know I went into labour 2 hours after scrubbing the floors on that 9th day, worked me ass off until I was knackered and that did it for me. Might of been a coincidence though. I feel your pain, I was really upset by the end of my pregnancy as everyone due after me was having their baby before me etc. Was so frustrating! Massive hugs hun! x

I went 10 days overdue, I ended up being induced but it was a relatively quick induction. I did try lots of things to get going and had 3 sweeps but nothing worked.
My little boy was 6lb 10 and not chubby at all, I think he wasn't quite ready. This time despite being fed up, I'm trying to hang on as long as possible! :) x

I went over with my first two. Had one sweep with My first 40+4 he was born the next day! And with my second he was in an awkward position took a lot to get going with him several sweeps, walks, in the end they broke my waters and he came that night. I was 40+6. I know its frustrating! I am fed up already! Not even due yet and sick of the niggles!!
Keep busy , any normal routine, walking hoovering more walking etc. Sorry pretty useless advice as I know how fed up you will be!!
I'll be crying by my due date ha ha fingers crossed for you soon. Do you have another sweep? X

I had 3 sweeps - went 11 days over and was induced due to leaking waters. Induction wasn't an unpleasant experience - but got to 4cms and because my Sons head was resting on my pelvis he wouldnt go any further and ended up having a section under general as spinal didnt work! xx

I would opt for a general anyway if I ended up needing a section... I'll never have an epidural!
Thanks for your replies girls...
No don't have another sweep booked yet but I know the girls at my birth centre, they said pop in after 72 hours for another so I'll just ring them on sat or sun and see if they can do another!
I just want to meet my baby :(

For those that were induced, how were u induced? Pessary, drip or both? xxx

My official due date last time was 2nd of February, but my due date going by my own dates was the 6th. I went into labour on the 6th and my son arrived by emergency c-section two days later, on the 8th.

Why emergency section hun? My original due date is 7th August so maybe I'll do same as you lol, hopefully not the the section part though xxx

Most people who have epidural recommend it but I'll never have one, Ive seen first hand the complications from them and I'll never take the risk.. That's just me personally because I'm a worrier! I'd rather have a general if it came to it xxx

I'm going to go over with you hun, I'm due today...
My first I went 40+1 my back waters went so I had to be induced.
My second was 40+5
My third was 40+3

I feel like I'm going to end up getting induced with this one. :( xxx

Mine was just the drip! I was 2cm dilated when I got into hospital and they were able to break my waters so went straight onto the drip!
I was dead against an epidural too - but if you are being induced you will need one - the contractions are alot stronger! Mine didn't work completely but it helped massively as towards the end my contractions were less than 20 seconds apart xx

I had a pessary. They had to take it out as baby's heartbeat was dropping with each contraction. Once out though I laboured naturally. It wasn't the greatest experience but that was down to the mw telling me I wasn't in established labour and not checking me for 3 hours, so I didn't get any pain relief. When I was checked I was 9cm and pushed for hardly any time at all.

I went overdue 9 days with my son. I had a sweep Thursday morning. Went for a Long walk, had a nap then started contractions and had him by 12pm on Friday. It worked out after I went into labour 9 months to the day after ovulation even though by scans and lmp he was due 9 days before xxx

Oh jd why do you think you will be induced? Are you just panicking like me??
Caseymummy i can't remember my ovulation dates but I remember either by LMP or ov date I would be due 7th.. Wish I'd kept my app now lol!
Hutch u why did you need the drip? Did your contractions not start on their own after the waters? I'm already 2cm dilated!
Gillyboos how lucky that you were able to do it natural in the end :)

Xxx

I was having contractions for about 24 hours before but they were pretty irregular and because my waters were leaking - and leaking for a good few days beforehand (although no one believed me until they actually tested!!) I had the drip to speed up the process and I needed anti-biotics too. I think the fact that I was 2cm dilated was more down to the 3 sweeps I had rather than my babies head dilating it! xx

I went overdue with both of my babies. My son went all the way overdue. Never gave me any sign or labour warnings because he just wasn't interested in being born. He was induced at Term +14 and born at +16. My daughter arrived 5 days over. BUT, I had no signs, or symptoms again right up until it happen at Term + 5 - so who knows, maybe it'll all happen tomorrow :-)

Maybe... When you say you had no signs at all, what happened, did you just start contractions and that was it? xxx

My son was born 10 days overdue.

I was booked in for induction at 12 days over but started to Labour naturally at 9 days- contracting and waters went. I was put on the drip to speed things along as there was meuconiun in my waters so they didn't want me labouring for too long. Laboured overnight and he was born first thing in the morning at 10 days past due date.
