October Mummies

Thanks for the advise ladies, ill look into it and find out what I need ect

Im off to Crete, im so looking forward to a break away with my family :) been on countdown for ages!

Where abouts in Italy are you going Chookette? I went to Milan last year on a business trip, very pretty place and fab for shopping (honestly it was a business trip) x x

Hey Mum2Adam. We are doing a tour. We are starting with one night in Pisa, then one night in florance and two nights in sienna and then going down to Sorrento where we will be relaxing for 5 nights. We are taking the train for the whole journey which will be interesting. We are flying over there though. :)

I so love Italy so really looking forward to it.... also will be our last big holiday for a long while. All holidays for the forseeable future will be to australia to see my family. But I suppose I cannot complain about that either. :)

I love Italy, wish I was going, went around lake garda on our honeymoon European trip last year and spent quite a lot of time there while I was in the RAF, I want to go back! France this year though for me!

Sounds like lots of you are getting baby bargains already, I'm so indecisive I daren't buy stuff yet incase I change my mind!

I'm going to be spending a week in a Cornwall villa when I will be about 37 weeks. It's just the way it worked out as I booked it before I was pregnant. But to say I am really worried about it is a massive understatement! I'm going to have to take my overnight bag with me as well as investigate where the nearest maternity hospital is and make sure I know (or OH knows) how to get there in case the worst happens. And also do lots of praying!

So all you girls fretting about going on holidays when you are 20 weeks... I laugh in your face! :bum:

not going on any holidays but.... I just passed my drivers theory test this evening, woohoo!!!

yep!! I know I can do it though so its just keeping the nerves under control. Apparently a 2 month waiting list for practical so got a wee bit longer to practice. xx

Well done ss79!!

I've been to Italy 6 times. Every time it's been to Riva del Garda on the north part of Lake Garda. Drove over there and back each time as it was a competition week (I'm a sailor - well I was till bump decided to say hiya!!) It's a gorgeous country and I love it over there. Now mighty jealous that you're going over there and my holiday this year is camping in scotland (perthshire) then a weekend at a music festival near peebles in august. Think me and OH will try and get a last minute deal from somewhere and have a week in the sun I hope at somepoint!! xxx

Hi Ladies im an October Mummy due Oct 4th Great thread!! xxx

Well done ss79.

I've got my 16 week midwife appointment on Tuesday. Not looking forward to getting the bloods taken but excited to be able to hear babies heartbeat for the first time. I'm a bit worried that they wont find a heartbeat though - I don't remember being this worried with Lennon but I am this time for some reason.

Is it standard to have a 16 and 20 week scan in Guernsey or are you considered high risk?

Ooohhh exciting DW, i started filling up the other week when the midwife came round and she listened to baby :)
My next midwife appointment is a week on Tuesday then ive got my 4d sexing scan a week on Wednedsay, im so excited :)

Has anyone got anything nice planned for the weekend? Im on call for work but its OH's bday, so im hoping thete wont be a call x x

I have my Uncle and Aunty arriving from Australia today. So the plan is to have a BBQ tomorrow but the weather is not looking good... Also was going to watch my OH play cricket on Sunday but again the weather is not playing ball. :-(

No rain for a whole month and it decides to rain the one weekend I want it not too. grrrr

Should be good to catch up with them anyway... :)

I'm a low risk pregnancy and I have the same, so don't think it's anything different for Guernsey.

OH is at work tonight, all day tomorrow and tomorrow night, so I will be spending my time lazy about and mostly sleeping. Bless him, he's got 3 jobs so I'll hardly see much of him albeit when we pick the new car up tomorrow morning!! :D

Sunday we go out for lunch at our local (as it's by the sea we stay for quite a while) then head home, take dogs out and laze for the rest of the day :D

Actually looking forward to having a weekend of doing nothing for a change! xxx

I took OH shopping for his presents last weekend and took him out for a meal then with me not being on call so im treating him to a curry but not really doing anything special.
My fingers are crossed the weather is nice for you weekend Chookette x x

I'm not having a scan hun, just going to the mw. At this appointment she task my bloods for screening and listens to babies heartbeat.

We used to get 3 scans at 12, 20 and 35 weeks but now they've reduced that to two at 12 and 20 weeks, not sure if the UK is the same?
