****** October 2018 Mummies! ******

Looks like the symptoms are all coming in thick and fast for everyone! I’m almost at 7 weeks so half way to the 12 week scan. Is anyone else terrified of needles? I’m really not looking forward to the blood test.

I’m only just 4 weeks and already have nausea... my last pregnancy I had none at all and was totally under the impression that this pregnancy would be the same :D is it just going to get worse from now? I’m so hungry all the time but no appetite...I haven’t even booked a doctors appointment yet

In my last pregnancy I lived abroad and I had my first check up at 6 weeks I had an ultrasound at that appointment and every 2 weeks from then until we moved back to England when I was 4 months, I’m wondering how I’m gonna feel this time not being able to see the baby till 12 weeks!

When is your DD? And congrats on this wonderful news

I will be 8 weeks on Tuesday. I have gone completely off of all meat and fish which isn’t ideal as I know the baby needs protein.
I haven’t actually thrown up but I have a sick feeling in my stomach 24/7 and can’t stomach the the thought of anything sweet like cake or biscuits.

The round ligament pain so be so scary but as long as there is no blood then all is fine

Yep I’m also terrified of needles! I always cry when they tell me I have to have one. Even if I know that’s what I’m going for I still cry! And usually I go really light headed or full on faint as well! I have to be lying down to have any injections but especially when having blood taken. The worst part is that I do blood tests on babies all the time at work but I’m just the worst patient ever! Most people are really nice about it though and I just let them know that there’s nothing that they can do that will stop me freaking out and to just go ahead and do it!

Omg it’s so lovely to hear of someone who does exactly the same as me. It’s a relief as my husband has pretty much told me to man up in the past!
In my first pregnancy I got sent for two glucose tolerance tests as baby was measuring big. I’m pretty sure the second one at 38+3 triggered my labour. Baby was born at 38+5 weighing only 7.1. I wasn’t impressed! Stupid needles. :(

I am so ignorant, I hadn’t even thought of the blood tests yet :/ yuck. I have my Midwife on Tuesday hopefully it won’t be too bad.

In my area they do the tests separate to that appointment but I’ve heard of some where they do them at the same time. Think I’d cry even more having them sprung on me!

Caved and did my last digi.
And got a nice bit of progression on a IC from last night,
I know I should just pack it in now, But Ive not had progression like this in a Loooooong time!
Im defiantly excited :D

Thank you, predicted 27th October! I’m so paranoid at the moment I just want to pass this week, I’m getting period cramps in the evening and it worries me! I know it’s all meant to be normal though

Hi ladies, thanks for the welcome.
It's weirdly comforting to know that we are all paranoid about every twinge, symptoms are worrying but then also having no symptoms is worrying. Just need to all take it easy and be positive :)

My biggest symptom is definitely tiredness...and also short tempered! Boobs are a little sore but not too bad.

Some of your needle phobia's sound so bad, that must be horrible. Cornishgirl, I would definitely blame that stress on putting you into labour! Although I've jabbed myself quite a lot recently, I hate getting blood taken, those needles are so much bigger!

I am in awe of those ladies who do IVF. In my current mind set I don't know how I could mentally handle injecting myself but I know people who have had phobias and overcome them via IVF. Some things are worth fighting your phobias for.

Even though I cry, faint and get stressed I would still have all the tests/injections necessary to protect my baby. Shame it does cause me such distress though.

I'm just glad that I'll unlikely have to do it again (we've got a few in the freezer :cold: ) and it's like you say, you'd do it all if you have to anyway so I think its the same for IVF, it's just got to be done so you get on with it. I kind of went through the whole thing like an outer body experience and it still feels like I'm just watching someone else do all of this! :looped:

Just got to hope you don't need any blood taken in later pregnancy again and you can concentrate on relaxing/nesting/sleeping!

I had my pre booking appointment today which was a group thing. We went through screening tests in pregnancy, vitamins, what food to avoid, and what will happen at booking appointment (mine is next Friday 2nd March, also had some forms to fill in before the appointment next week - mostly health history and if there’s any conditions in any of our families, e.g. diabetes etc. Also found out that at the booking appointment the midwife will take some blood so glad that I know beforehand.

I had my midwife today 7 tubes of blood! Urgh horrible. I have to see the specialist next week as I am currently high risk :(

Omg!! Is that because you’re considered high risk? At my pre booking they said it will be 3 but one of those is to test for Hep B which I’m not sure if they’ll do that one on me, as I work in a hospital I’ve been vaccinated against it and had a blood test after the vaccines to make sure it had worked.

I think it was two extra for high risk but 5 standard my arm still aches!!!
