Hi all

Wasn't sure if anyone from October Mummies still comes on here or in this section but I keep going to update and realise it's still in the Third Trimester Section  (I'll post this link in there)

Hope your all doing well? We are doing great. Alot better than the early days thank god. Carter was 20weeks on Sunday. Last weighed a few weeks ago at 16lb. We have remained on specialist milk Neocate and have his skin and symptoms under control with this and gaviscon each feed and high dose ranitadine.

We are about to embark on DF weaning soon which will be ... challenging. I will have to be careful of allergy reactions and reflux reactions. But I'm sure it'll be ok in the end. We have dietician in March he will be 5 months and we will decide how to approach it. We have some DF organix baby rice as been advised as a first food.

Carter is sleeping through regularly now hurrah! He sometimes wakes at 7.30 then goes back down but some mornings he does as late as 1030. So huge step that way.

Still no toothy pegs but they are near. I suspect bottoms ones first as normal. He's chewing everything in sight.

Seen some rolling and sitting for a few mins here or there but he seems quite happy on his side fingers in the mouth babbling away.

Looking forward to hearing how your all doing if anyone's still about.

xxxx

Hi Hun! I still pop on quite regularly to see if we have any updates, still can't help popping back to the bfp thread every now and again and feeling so exited for all those expecting!!

So Aela is 20 weeks on Friday, she is still exclusively breast fed and we plan to carry this on until she is 6 months unless we see any issues with this. She still wakes twice a night for feeds but these are quick feeds and she is back sleeping within 15-20 minutes. She goes down every night between 7 and 8 and wakes around 8 every morning, so I get a good sleep almost every night!

We are currently in the process of moving our bedroom upstairs so when Aela moves into her own room we will be next door and not downstairs :) she sleeps in her Chicco next2me at the moment, but I hope this doesn't make the transition to her own room any harder than it would normally be!

We had a quick hospital trip with her last vaccinations when her temperature rocketed to 39.5 and couldn't bring it down, and a trip to the doctors last week with what he suspected was scarlet fever but she has passed it all now and is back to her happy self! She's forever rolling and loves to be sitting up or standing :)

Hello :) :), gald to see a couple of us still around :). My little one is 19 weeks, had a bit of a dash to hospital with her last week as she developed a purple pin prick rash on her right leg out of the blue. Everything was fine after tests were done, it was capillaries under her skin that had burst, not a clue how it could have happened :(. Just busy getting out and about with her, finished the baby massage course and now take her to baby sensations, just getting her used to being around other babies and different environments xx

Hi ladies!!

Glad some of you are still about.

Glad your both doing well too. Aela looks so bright and alert.

We are doing BM at the minute. Not quite sure what we will do after it finishes. Sorry to hear about her rash Jasmine glad it wasn't anything too serious. Hadn't ever heard of it so I imagine it was a bit frightening for you.

Sorry to hear aela wasn't well too. Carters was at 39.8 when he had his UTI. Glad she's made a recovery now.

We have a follow up ultrasound to check Carter's kidneys after his infection. But I am also in the process of dealing with a family bereavement. My little cousin was sadly murdered a couple weeks ago so typically the week I have alot of appointments is most likely when the funeral will be but I'm sure I'll manage.

Hopefully some more of us come back now that the hectic period of newborn stage and xmas is out the way lol.

Jesus hun! I'm so sorry to hear about your cousin :-( must have been and I'm sure still is such a shock. I hope you're OK?

Hey hun

Yeah he was stabbed 3 weeks ago in a street attack. He lived in a bad area but still, only 20 years old so it's a huge shock. He was supposed to come meet his new little cousin. We were chatting recently which in a way I'm glad about. Because he was the type of person who just lived his own laws but always checked in now and then. They have someone for it. He goes to plead this week and then it'll either be a trial or just the funeral to get through. I've to meet with police liason and go see him before we have the funeral as there won't be a religious service or viewing. Still pretty much in shock bur will hit us when the funeral comes.

Thanks for asking love xxxx

Hi jasmine! Oh what a fright, they don't half keep us on our toes ;) I'm glad to hear it wasnt anything serious though, poor bubba! I was trying to get into the baby massage class in my area but it's been a baby boom at the end of last year in my town! So it was full as soon as spaces opened. My health visitor is planning to make some extra time and show me some techniques, apparently it's a great addition to their bedtime routine!

I'm so in love with all carters hair he is so sweet!! Oh god 39.8 you must of been so worried. I tried my best to keep calm but when Aelas eyes starting rolling into the back of her head that did it for me! I wouldn't say she was in and out of consciousness but it was like she was passing out and then coming round afew seconds later struggling for breath, I had to phone nhs24 at that point!

I hope Carters follow up has a positive outcome, what a difficult time for you :( so sorry to hear about your cousin, that's just awful. I'm sure you will just be wanting that whole week to be over with, I will have you in my thoughts Hun. Xxxx

Haha yeah his hair is growing back. He had reeeally bad cradle cap from his allergy and with that coming off his hair did in places. He ended up having a comb over bless but it's coming back now. And so different from his brothers orange (as he puts it) hair.

It is frightening when they are like that isn't it. Carter had slept all day then by the end of the night like aela his wee eyes were so drowsy and it scared me. I'd given him calpol to no avail either. I don't find nhs 24 helpful. They were asling if he was responsive I says well yeah but he's drowsy then it was yeah but is he alert and awake I'm like no but he's not unresponsive either :/ I know they need to filter the problem but sometimes your like ffs just put the nurse on

We are all getting there. Kind of in limbo atm as funeral is arranged bur we are awaiting release of him before we can and that's upto the courts. But once we get that done we can all grieve properly. Just had alot of hassle and drama as always happens with a family death.

Thanks ladies xxxx

Hey ladies, not been on for a while. Just been reading through both threads. Hope everyone is ok. Sorry to hear some babies have been unwell, but glad to hear nothing too serious. Isla had her last lot of injections this morning. She is coping really well with them but did a mega pooplosion at my friends house!

Claire, I know we have had our differences but I'm sorry to hear about your cousin. Hope the evil ******* who did it gets what he deserves! My thoughts are with you and your family xx

Hi ladies. glad you're all doing well! Your little babas are growing so lovely! My little boy Theo has turned 19 weeks today! He is formula fed and absolutely loves his milk! He's huge haha :) he's still waking frequently in the night and then some mornings randomly wakes at 4.30 babbling and making noises! So funny to watch :) he's teething like a trooper at the moment, pink cheeks, everything going in the mouth and dribbling all over the shop! He's very nearly rolling over but that's about it, he's just a big massive baby!

Super cute Ells, my little, one is the same, pink cheeks, drooling everywhere and trying to chomp on anything and everything xx

Oh my gosh Claire that is just horrible. Hope you and your family are okay, please take care xx

Awk great to hear about all the babes doing well. Glad all the sicknesses have passed! Scary stuff. Our jabs went great thankfully.

I'm going insane tho my lb just does not sleep. We have 3 or 4 twenty minute naps and its a fight every nap, ends up being in pram/a car or fed to sleep just to get him to close his eyes. I have read every forum post, every piece of information there is on naps and sleep. Night time theres a three hour block from 8 to 11 then its hourly until 4 where he is just awake babbling. I end up co sleeping as soon as there is some daylight about 6.30-7 for an hour because if I don't I will lose my mind. Still breastfeeding and giving him two ready made formula bottles a day any more formula and cradle cap is horrendous and he is incredibly windy and uncomfortable. Still projectile vomits so much as an oz of powdered formula. No rolling here and he doesn't really care about toys or anything either all he's concerned about his chewing his fists. Giggles a lot though which is nice. My c section scar finally closed up at 18 weeks, so now I finally feel like I'm getting back on my feet. Start work in a few weeks :/ crapping it.

Thanks Mac. I went to view him last week. We hadn't seen him in a while so wanted to. At first I couldn't but got there now it won't leave me. Time will help I'm sure. Still no funeral but they have someone who we are waiting on pleading and pushing if they wan a separate post mortem. It's just over a month now we all just want closure.

Sorry your lo is having a tough time sometimes. Carter has reallt bad cradle cap - it was a big crust and actually main symptom of his allergy as it was in and around his ears. Still is if we aren't on top of it but so many people say use oil but I read not to as it's over production of oil that causes the crusts. We use soft parafin fifty 50 and cake it on then I wash it leave on shampoo and comb it then I towel dry. We now just have a good few loose crusts but before his whole head was solid it was a shame. Have you thought your lo may have an intolerance to something in the milk? Carter was extremely windy loud farts and uncomfortable rubbing his face un settled periods and short naps. How are his nappies? Has this been just since formula? Sounds similar to carter. Xxx

Here's a recent couple pics.

Carter is 5 months old and cut two bottom teeth on that day. I'll be missing fingers or drowned in drool by next week.

Place yer bets

Are we all just about set for weaning? Bring on the messy food pics!

xxxx

Everyone's photos are so sweet :D Aela is 5 months old today, she's rolling non-stop and trying to crawl aswell!! At the moment she just goes in circles on the spot but it won't be long, shes growing up far too fast :( haha. No teeth here but the teething is real!! She has big white bumps all over her gums around the areas that her vampire teeth will come in, I'm unsure if it's ulcers or not but the health visitor is round later this week, will get her to have a look.

Over the past few days she's taken a dummy to help her sleep and she's fell asleep in her dads arms afew times now just when she's too tired, which is great as she usually feeds to sleep all the time, so I'm glad she will take something else to help her sleep, although she still feeds to sleep every night! I'm slightly worried for her moving into her own room in her own bed but my other half keeps saying we will tackle it when it comes!

What are all you ladies starting with for weaning? I tried Aela with baby rice yesterday and she seemed to hate it, I'm thinking of trying baby led weaning and just giving her some well boiled broccoli florets and carrot batons and letting her munch away! X

The rolling means that's when we move more and baby weight goes I found when my first was mobile I dropped weight so I hope for the same this time lmao. Carter just seems to push himself on his back around the floor lmao but he rolls the odd occasion for a few then goes back think with his reflux he's not too keen on tummy. He did have white bumps but they left I thought the vamp teeth would come first but now his bottom ones are through the white bumps have gone but they do seem like they'll be the next ones here as the gum is still raised just no white bumps so hopefully it's just her comes changing getting ready for her little fangs. I love the fangs.

Glad she is settling with a dummy for daddy. We have found giving him a comforter and dummy in with white noise and I just sit by him and he goes off. I've been doing boxercise and going to spiritualist every week with another PF mummy so daddy has got better at put downs. Jacksons easy he's just story and bed now but Carter still sometimes is stubborn with OH unless he's proper tired lol.

Weaning we did try rice but he reacted although not any free from ranges I can try all have may contain. So we have took a break from rice and are now starting with the dairy free porridge with fine oats with his formula and then probably some puree veg if before 6m, from 6m we will be doing loose blw with whatever he can manage
Reflux makes textures hard to grasp so we just need to take it very slowly as well with allergies. May need to do mashed before giving whole batons. But will be porridge then puree veg then steamed/boiled veg. I'm shitting myself for fruit as alot kicks off reflux so it's good that you start with savory then sweet.

How is everyone? My little one is drooling everywhere with her teething, none have come through yet, she has actually developed a bit of a nappy rash this last couple of days which has been causing her to be in pain so just managing that at the minute. Booked to view a nursery visit in a couple of weeks :(. Slowly been introducing weaning, just giving her porridge in the mornings, she seems to like it :) xx

Hey ladies, hope you are all well. We are hitting the 6 month mark shortly. She has had a bit of food and liked it but would like to try more soon. I recently moved house so am a bit all over the place but the kids are loving it. How is everyone? Xx

Hey hedgehog! My little boy turned 6 months yesterday! It's absolutely surreal to think he's already half a year old! He's doing amazing, he has 2 teeth and has been on solids/thick purees for about a month now! How is everyone elses bambino's coming along? xx
