November 2020 Mummies

Sharn, it's just odd. I was named after my mums midwife and that's how she spelt abd pronounced it xx

I want something a little different but nothing too crazy. My almost 5 year old is Zak. X

Just had my booking in phone call apo over the phone! Eek all feels more real now!!
So they are booking me in for a scan and that will hopefully be next week! I have to go for my bloods etc with midwife on wed too.

Yay! That's so exciting :D

Speaking of scans @EmilyMaria How's it going?? :D

11 weeks tomorrow for me. Apparently that works out to be the size of a strawberry.

I'm 9 weeks, 2 days and baby is the size of a green olive. Hope everyone is doing well. Had a rough day at work, but feeling much better.

Ooh you’re a day ahead of me :)

My nausea has moved up a few hours. It now starts around 11am and lasts for the rest of the day. My poor husband still has to do all of the cooking.

Scan is done.
Just waiting on the calculation with my bloods to be done to define my risk of abnormality. The actual nuchal fold measurement was low and bubs heart rate was 160 beats per minute.
Bub was moving around a lot which is just crazy to think thats its doing that all the time and I dont know.
Nausea seems to be settling down too. I have noticed some abdominal and ligament discomfort here and there. Hubby says he is really starting to see a little bump now.
How is everyone else doing?

What is everyone's thoughts on sharing news about bub?
Will you do a public announcement or keep it more private?
What your timeline for feeling comfortable with sharing your news?
Its weird not really seeing people in person, normally I prefer to share things when I actually see people rather than a post on facebook or a phone call.

I still haven't decided what we are going to do, I think I might film us telling our kids about the baby and then send that to my family - we live far from them anyway so wouldn't be able to tell face to face even without the lockdown. Or I'll make a film of them saying that they are getting a baby or something.

My husband really wants to tell everyone asap because we are having such a rough time of it and he wants people to know we are struggling. So we'll probably tell everyone after the scan on 5th May via a social media post, but I haven't really decided what kind of post yet

I’m just gone 10 weeks, We have just told our parents. Was planning on waiting till after the scan but my mother in law has just tested positive for the dreaded covid19 and thought best we tell her. They knew we were trying and they knew wed had a failed ivf in jan. was so emotional but I’m pleased Iv told them. Not told my son yet or our siblings, il wait for the scan before I do that x

Glad all went well, was you measuring correct for your dates?

Yay @EmilyMaria! I’m glad it went well. Do you have a pic? :D

Re sharing news: We’ll tell the rest of our family (aunts and uncles) and close friends after the twelve week scan (if all is good, fingers crossed!) but we’re not really ones for Facebook fuss so... I’m not sure. We might post the scan pic or we might just wait until I have a photo taken somewhere later this year and clearly have a bump (I hope!) and see if people notice.

I sent the scan to my brother and he sent me back this.

He wanted to know why the baby had a beak and told me that I'm growing the penguin.

The weird line coming off the baby's face is actually its hand, it was touching its face. received_3216234778387040.png

So far I've told a few people at work, just because I had to disclose because there are some things I can't do right now.

Otherwise my immediate family know and some close friends who I would have leant on for support in the event that I did miscarry.

Hubby and I dont really post on social media much either. I think I'll probably start telling other people as I see them (eventually).
