My gorgeous munchkin Harry :) My body finally did something right!!!

Oh wow hun - lovely to hear such a positive update!

James is the same, he's 13lb 2oz and showing signs of teething (chomping on his hands, dribbling loads) but he is still feeding as normal. James has also shot up. He slips between 25th and 9th centile and we've got to back in 2 weeks - had him weighed on 1st.

I posted something quite similar in my journal today, it's been a lovely few days with bub and he's learnt so much. He is getting to be such a little man now - it's scary to think how quickly they grow!

Also the sleep regression thing isn't to do with leaps, I don't know exactly what it is but I am guessing it's not good LOL

Yeah, saw your post hon - I guess Harry and James are at similar stages in development and they're really coming on right now. The next few months are going to be so much fun!! (but also very challenging!!)xx

I wrote this poem yesterday (bit more time at Dh is home this week!) and it seems to sums things up quite nicely at the mo!

Babe in arms please go to sleep
Your mummy's so tired she could weep
She's been dying to cough and needs the loo
A drink wouldn't go amiss too!
She's been sitting here since half past two
Scared her moving will wake you
She's dreaming of her cosy bed
But you're the cosy one instead
She tries to lift you as quietly as she can
Your eyelids flutter, you wave your hands
Heart beating she sits down once more
Noting wearily it's nearly four
Some time later, babe is now held aloft
And mummy's footsteps are very soft
Creeping back to baby's cot
Praying nothing will wake her tot
Cursing floorboards that creak like mad
And the loud snoring of the baby's dad
Finally at the cot sets baby to bed
The cold mattress touches his little head
She holds her breath, he stirs, she waits
This is the moment she really hates
Dear baby she thinks, I love you sweet
But now you really need to stay asleep
Minutes later she's out for the count
But now baby's dummy has fallen out.....

Man, I hate that dummy sometimes!! xxx

Love it Hun! Glad things are going so well with harry but why is sleep such a mission with babies? Xx

My poor little Harry is having a tough time right now :( We're almost certain he's teething as he chews madly on his hands and dribbles lots. he's also been off his food a bit and has screaming fits for no apparent reason and he takes ages to calm down :( Today for the first time ever he screamed the place down when I tried to give him his evening boob feed and wouldn't take it :( I just felt so helpless. We've got the gel and given him some calpol so hopefully that helps a bit. On top of this his eczema has got worse and had to take him to the doc today. She has precribed some steroid cream and some extra strength moisturiser. It might be that he is feeling itchy from that too. So, not an easy time in our house right now. He's very clingy and wants constant attention which is very hard work. It doesn't help that I've got streaming cold right now AND I am overjoyed to announce that my AF started yesterday! It feels so alien to me I've almost forgotten what to do...

Hoping for a happier house all round soon.... xxx

Good luck lovely hope you have a better week.

Thanks! :) Harry is just getting used to it so not sure at the moment. Will look into toy tray - didn't know there was one! xxx

Have a look hun, it's about £9 but I thought it would be a good middle ground before James goes into a high chair.

I posted a piccie of James in his in my journal

He looks really chilled out in that 2nd piccie, love it!

Happy weekend

Well, lets get the bad news out the way first. My health has gone downhill again :( Sucks so much and it's making it almost impossible to cope with Harry on my own. It's so frustrating as really don't want to be relying on my parents so much and staying with them all the time. Just want to have a normal life! Feels like I'm never going to get better sometimes. Seeing my consultant on 17th April so really hope he can suggest something as it's no fun being like this...

Anyway, of course the good news if my wonderful Harry :) He's doing so well and discovering new things all the time. He now puts his toes in his mouth, has found his willy (I worry he's going to squeeze it too hard and hurt himself lol!) and is starting to try and sit himself up! His sleep has been quite poo this last week but touch wood has improved again the last couple of days. We are really trying to help him to self settle by not running to him every time he makes a noise and reducing his dummy use. Also, we are planning to move him to his own room today - fx that will help, though not sure how we're going to deal with the dummy that constantly needs replacing atm! Hopefully that will make life easier in the long run...

Oh and at his last weigh in, last week Harry weighed 14lbs 6oz, so back in the 25th centile and his appetite has definitely picked up, so please about that :). Just want to get his eczema more under control now as nothing apart from the steroid cream which we can't use often seems to help. Trip to the docs this week I think...

You must be feeling so down hun, can't imagine what it must be like for you. Hope you can get some help when you see the consultant.

I can't wait til Ava can sit up herself, bless him for finding his willy....lol. I find it much better to sleep with Ava in her own room, you've done well to have him next to you for this long.

Xx

Thanks hon, I am pretty down about it but trying to stay hopeful things will improve... Bit worried about having Harry in his own room as don't want to be running backwards and forwards to put the dummy back him - fx for tonight! xxx

Oh bless you ceebee, it's hard enough coping with it all being in good health so I do feel for you.

Thank God for your parents and hubby, I am sure they don't mind helping you hun, it's what they are there for.

Let us know how Harry gets on in his own room. How exciting....

James is still in his crib right next to the bed which means I can literally lean over and sort him out.

I did  about Harry and his willy. James does the same and even grabs his balls. OH is always like "make him stop it", but you kind of figure if it hurts he'd stop?

Harry is growing just wonderfully. I'll find out how James is doing on Friday. He was a still less than 14lbs a few weeks ago.

Thanks Nat :) I know my folks and hubby don't mind, but I can't do all the nice mummy things like meet with other mums for coffee etc and I feel quite frustrated as I don't know anyone else where my parents live, so as much as I love them, it can be a bit much being with them 24/7. Oh well, not much I can do right now...

Aren't you in a 1 bedroom anyway hon if I remember rightly? I'm sure having him in the crib next to you must make life easy in lots of ways though...

Lol, yes, I think finding their willies is just part of their development - the start of a lifelong romance:lol:

Will be checking in your journal for James updates :) xxx

Foot in mouth!! At least Harry makes me laugh!

By the way, finally stopped bf-ing. Felt a little sad, but not as sad as I would've felt if I'd have given up sooner. I'm still expressing a little but milk has more or less dried up now. Wish I could've carried on really, but with my health as it is, I struggled a lot with it. Still, I'm proud that I breast fed full time for 3 months and he got a few breast milk feeds a day until he was about 4.5 months :)
