My gorgeous munchkin Harry :) My body finally did something right!!!

Hopefully he won't spit his dummy out much or at least will learn to settle without it, Ava doesn't have a dummy so luckily don't have that problem. She sucks her hand to sleep sometimes.

You've done great to bf for 3 months so just look at that & be proud hun.

Xx

Thanks Amber :)

Well, didn't have a great night I'm afraid :( was up from 4am and ended up having to hold Harry until he slept - didn't get back to bed until 6am. Spoke to HV and she reckons he might be in pain from teething or wind so will try to address that. Seems like everyone else baby sleeps through apart from mine! Oh well, will keep trying to get him to sleep and I'm sure siome nights will be better than others (she says hopefully). It was nice not having him in our room and having to creep around so much in the night, so something positive I guess...

Hi peeps

Been a bit awol I'm afraid as haven't been very well at all. Just taking one day at a time and staying at my parents most of the time as that's the only way I can cope with Harry as needing lots of rest in the day. Feeling frustrated and down but trying to enjoy Harry as much as I can and stay hopeful that something will improve soon.

Harry is doing really well :) trying to sit up though not quite managing it! He makes me smile even on my worst days and even though being pregnant has made my health worse, I wouldn't change it as I have my lovely Harry :) I will try and catch up with your journals when I get a chance, but hope all your babies are doing well and hope you ttc-ers catch that egg real soon!

Rubbish to hear you've still been so poorly hun!

You just do what you need to do for the time being.

Glad Harry is doing well - he is so clever trying to sit up! James isn't doing anything like that yet!!

Just in-case I forget tomorrow, happy 5 months to Harry!

Hi ladies :) haven't posted for ages!

Firstly, I saw my consultant a couple of weeks ago and finally they found a couple of things wrong with me. It was such a relief to hear her say there was something physiologically wrong with me as at times I've doubted my own sanity! That's the good news, but the not so good news is that there's no straight forward treatment. I have to rest as much as I can (yeah, right, that's gonna happen with a 5 month old wiggle bubba!) and do some exercises and they want to try me a medication, as well as some refferals to occupational therapy/pain management etc. Basically there's not cure, but it's just about managing my condition. So positive in some ways, but feels quite overwhelming as I feel like I still have a mountain to climb and no energy to do it!

As for Harry, he is lovely when he smiles and laughs but he does moan a lot too. I think he's getting frustrated as he wants to get moving but can't. We're so close to sitting though and tomorrow we are going to buy him a high chair, so hopefully he will be happier sitting with us at mealtimes. Not going to start weaning until 6 months though I think, although I'm getting a bit impatient to do it. Reckon he'll enjoy that too :) His sleeping isn't too bad touch wood, so that's something. He really is a wiggle bubba though and won't sit still at all in my lap or anywhere - he needs constant distraction, which is exhausting, so still having to stay with my parents alot of the time. I'm glad they're there, but really want to be able to live in my own home, you know?

Anyway, I'm not sure how much I'll be able to get on as really need to try and concentrate on myself. Somehow I have to find enough time/energy to start meditating and also do some form of exercise as I think that will help too, but feel so knackered and it everything seems like such hard work right now. Once Harry's in bed, all I want to do is veg out. I'm sure you know the feeling....!!

Big hugs for you all and I'll look in when I get a spare moment xxxx

Lovely to see you pop on hun,

I know things have been tough for you. I hope you don't find it condescending when I say that it is difficult enough without any medical issues.... It just goes to show what a good job you are doing though!

James isn't keen on his highchair and isn't near to sitting yet? He has a big head bless him and I think that weighs him down  he loves to be pulled up though and loves to 'stand'. Harry sounds like he is coming on amazingly.

I think we're going to leave the weaning for a bit too, I've been trying a bit here and there and I think it's too early.

I can't believe we're gearing up to out babies half Birthday. Can you believe our boys are nearly 6 months?? It blows my mind

Harry is doing so well! :) He's such a lovely little boy, despite being a bit of a grumpster... Grumpy but gorgeous I say! Just want to write everything down but it's so hard. I should take notes as you forget all the little things they do...

He can now roll onto his tummy, but still doesn't like being on his tummy, so cries when he gets there. He loves looking around and is so curious about everything. He wants to be on his feet all the time and also would be carried around constantly if we let him. He's desperate to get moving and gets frustrated that he can't. When he sucks his dummy and talks at the same time, it sounds like he's saying 'golly, golly, golly' which always makes me laugh. He's learning to self settle a bit, but still needs his dummy. In the morning when he wakes up, he doesn't cry, but just lies in his cot talking to himself and then when I go in to see he he's all smiley like he's happy to see me. He laughs when I blow on his feet or blow raspberries on his neck. He's nearly sitting on his own and he can sit in his high chair. Trying BLW and he had his first taste of food today - it was just a bit of green pepper whcih he didn't seem to mind - it got gummed quite a lot anyway :) think I'll try steamed carrot tomorrow...

I love him so much and feel very lucky to have him xxxxxxxxx

ps he weighed 15lbs 7oz on Tues, so is doing well :)

James was 15lbs 13oz yesterday hun, quite small I thought for 6 months?? But he is long and lithe. Not on ounce of fat on him...

James is doing BLW and he is amazing, he eats anything (I'll have to be careful as he'll be eating cat food once he can crawl )

We've had a grumpy few days but to be honest even when grumpy James is an angel. I am not being too smug I know we have teething to look forward to.

I hope you are feeling OK?

Happy half birthday to my lovely little boy who is the light of my life :) You've come so far in 6 months! Rolling over now, nearly sitting unaided, trying new foods all the time and just generally being lovely and cute - what will the next 6 months hold??

We're doing blw and just thought I'd put a few weaning pics on here as they make me laugh

It's a messy business! So far just mainly done fruit and veg - tried porridge and rice cakes but they haven't gone down too well. Might try meat and cheese in a few weeks, maybe some toast too...

What a cutie. How quick has the time gone! Happy half birthday Harry. X

My little Harry is changing and developing so much now! Today he finally worked how to roll from his tummy to his back and did it several times so I think soon we will have a rolling baby! God help us then lol! He also took a little bit of water from his sippy cup, which he never has before so that's more progress. He's really turning into a little boy now with a personality, rather than just a baby. He loves being outside, he laughs when I tickle him (if he's in the right mood), he watches some children's stuff on tv (though mostly the singing stuff still) The best thing is when he laughs spontaneously :D He's sleeping mostly ok (touch wood) although he still can't go to sleep without his dummy.

As for weaning, well I tried blw weaning but just over a week ago I gave him a rice cakes and he got a bit stuck in his throat which scared me half to death, so I spoke to HV and have decided to go down the more traditional route which is going better so far. I still give Harry some cooked vegetable sticks to munch on, but mostly he's eating porridge and purees which he's quite enthusiastic about, especially the fruity purees :)

Anyway, I post some photos soon, but just wanted to write a quick update... xxx
