Hi Ladies,

I was in Triage this morning as I felt so poorly, couldn't see, speak properly, slurred words, headache, shaky & felt sick.

BP is normal, his HB is normal, urine has trace of protein & they did all my bloods which they said I had 0.5 more white blood cells in than I should but its nothing to worry about. Also did a sugar test & was fine but they measured me & I am measuring 29 weeks & I am 27 weeks & 2 days..

They didn't say if this means anything but said it isn't a worry when everything else is coming back normal. I mentioned my OH is 6ft 4, 17 stone & was 9lber when he was born & they said its probably that he is a big baby. He measured bang on track at our scans he just weighs a little more.

Anyone know if I should worry about this??

xx

I always measure 2-3 weeks ahead but spot on at scans (scans for different reason to measuring big) and its never been said that its something to worry about. I was the same with my daughter who was born on the 95th centile so just cooking a big baby xxx

It could just be baby and water, sometimes it's how baby is laying. My little girl was 8lb 15oz and was 2 weeks overdue. It's varies between every pregnancy and lots of possibilities

When we had our scan they told us measures bang on but is heavier than usual for that stage but nothing to worry about just may be a heavy baby??

OUCH!!

The main thing they look for, alongside not being TOO far ahead or beind is that their growth is consistent. Therefore you will probably always measure a cm or 2 ahead, but that's fine as long as the pattern is retained xx

My daughter was 2 weeks early and 8lbs4 but I don't think it means baby will be early, just can be the way they are laying x apparently bigger babies are easier to birth!

Nothing to worry about, they may want to monitor you more closely but that would just be a precaution as opposed to a worry. I measured ahead with both pregnancies (am 5ft with 6ft hubby), both boys are big lads and are following 75th and 90th centile respectively.

I always measured ahead! Could be that it's a big baby , lots of fluid or you simply have a small mid section so your bump sticks out more!
Totally normal and nothing to worry about xx

No, don't worry - I measured behind, ahead and spot on at various points. Even the midwife said its not accurate and they allow 3 weeks either way so 1.5 weeks is nothing to be concerned about. By the way I had growth scans and they're not very accurate either - I was told my baby weighed approximately 6lb 4 at 35+3 and told it wasn't a small baby - sonographer a words were 'it's not a skinny baby' and she even went on to ask about my shoe size! My baby was born at 38 weeks weighing 6lb 3!! He's on less than the 9th centile at 7 weeks so is still light for his age and he's only just out of newborn clothes. He is however long for his age (75th centile) xx

Noah always measured ahead hun.
He was big at 9lb 9.5ozs but i also had soooo much water.

Nothing to worry about at all xx

Last time everyone said I wouldn't make my due date, I was 1 or 2 weeks ahead throughout. No issues just a 10 lb baby 5 days late. I'm nearly 6ft and OH is 6.3ft so we just grow big babas! xx

I measured 2-3 weeks ahead with my son and he was 10 days over and an impressive 10lb! With my daughter I measured behind and she's was 8.11lb and 2 days late. I had a loy of water with my son and he was really far forward in my tummy where as with my daughter the midwives often commented that she was well hidden!

I had to have a growth scan with Cam as he was measuring big and not following a line on the chart.

We nicknamed him Godzilla Bean.

He arrived 10 days late and weighed in at 7lb4oz.

XX

Been given an estimate of 9lbs at birth - he weighs 2lbs 4 at the moment & that's quite chunky. He measures bang on but has very long legs too!!

xx

I measured 4 weeks ahead from about 28 weeks. Having a high BMI also put me at risk of a big baby. I was told to expect a whopper after a couple of growth scans and measuring 45cm at 39 weeks.... his was a perfectly respectable 7lb 10oz and not the whopper I was told to expect despite myself having a high BMI. Growth scans tend to be highly inaccurate. They also said my water pockets were perfectly within the range, but yet two midwives and the ob registra said they had never seen a woman pass so much water when I received an ARM

I had a scan at 27+1 and they said he was 2lb 6oz which they said was normal and bang on average! Have another scan wed at 31 weeks so will be interesting to see how much he has grown! X
