***May 2020 Mums***

my bump is quite high too, you’ll know if it’s a bump because it will be harder than your normal stomach x

Yeh its quite hard. Feels bloated esp at top. :) So glad to know its thats!! Theres also a line each side of belly button. Almost like i have a toned belly Oo

to edit the above. the 'bump' has 2 indents either side of belly button and then stomach is very firm there, the firmest there vs the other area. never felt or seen my stomach like it .! just hoping its a bump not 'fat' from xmas / sudden need for food in pregnancy! haha

@SugaryIris I'm having identical twin boys. The sonographer took a guess that they were boys from my 12 weeks scan. Had my 16wk one yesterday and boys were confirmed!

@maythe4thbewit do you work in mental health? Only asking because I'm an RMN and don't tend to meet many of our kind around here :D xxx

I do! Have worked in a mental health ward for the last 3 years :D. Where abouts are you?xx

I work in Hull :) male acute x

I work in mixed but it's all females atm :doh:. Need some males in to balance it out. I find males so much easier. Its been so hard last few weeks with so many staff leaving, rest of us have had to pick up the slack xx

I got very paranoid this morning and we ended up going 2 window to the womb for a scan!! For some reason they gave us a 4d view which was cool (and scary its not the best pic ever!) haha.

Looking good, I’m not going to get a 4d in case I accidentally see what the sex is!

Bought the paint to do the nursery today, going for a sky blue then will paint some clouds and we’ve got some animal on balloons wall stickers. Thinking it’s a nice dreamland type theme.

Anyone else preparing for their arrivals? X

We have to get the roof and window fixed fixed on the spare room first, builder is hopefully starting on the 13th then our eldest can move into that room and then we can turn his room into a nursery! Very keen to get started!!

We went to Lakeside shopping centre just after Christmas and walked out having pre ordered a buggy! Haha its a 3 in 1 travel system got car seat and isofix for it :)
I bought some paint as one thats in our lounge was on clearance and needed to patch up some bits in lounge anyway :)
We are going for pretty much beige all way round and a chalkboard feature wall, disney bedding etc. I bought some baby grows cause i just had to, bibs in a sale, got all muslin squares i need (i think) erm.. also got waterproof mattress protector. Will buy cot and crib for first 6months asap, i know i just had a scan and they checked bits(lungs, fluid, heart, brain) said all v normal but a more detailed 21 weeks required first :) cant wait tho!

P.S i know what u mean about 4D when she sed and a 4D peek and just did it i did find myself looking for sex but couldnt see anything. I was told you can have a 4D scan when bigger and just focus on face. So will do that. Hubby wants to know sex now im still a nope i cant and wont allow us to find out

@soffphie Window to the womb gives a free sneak peak in 4d with all their scans, we had one with our gender scan but that early, their not great pictures. Were undecided if were getting a 4d scan later on, DH wants one. I'm not sure.

@SugaryIris
We've got a Noah pod for the lounge, and a swinging crib from John lewis for our bedroom. Planning on getting a cot bed for his room then, and hopefully will move him in there at 6 months. Still need to get a 3 in one travel system and a wardrobe and things for his room. Got a load of clothes, babywipes, powders, creams things like that, been stocking up everytime we go out.

We've got two spare bedrooms, one is absolutely full of gym equipment though and the other one is the guest bedroom. Not sure what were going to do yet. Were planning on using the guest bedroom as his nursery but I dont know when were going to do it out. My parents live a few hours away and they are wanting to stay for the first few days when we bring him home to help out but if we get rid of the spare bed they wont have anywhere to sleep. And it's a small bedroom so no room to keep a double bed in there with all his stuff. And there is no room to move a double bed in the room with all the gym equipment (which I dont want to get rid of because I really miss my excercise and would like to get back into it when hes a few months old) Considering hes not going to be in there untill hes 6 months either were undecided weather to just leave it for the moment if you get what I mean?

I totally get what you mean, I wouldn’t want to give up my only guest room either, we use ours a lot. We are lucky because we aren’t using one of the rooms that we can keep the guest room and have a nursery. You’re right, the baby won’t sleep in it for months, you don’t have to do it before the arrival.

We never really use our guest room, we usually travel to see family, very rare do they come down and stay with us.

I'd love to start his room now tbh, I want to get everything sorted in there but as my mum said she wants to come down and help I feel like I cant get rid of the bed lol. And I dont ideally want to get rid of 100s of pounds worth of gym stuff either. Ugh it's so difficult, I just want to get all his stuff in there really but looks like it will have to wait.

We have so much stuff left to buy. Feel like we really need to start getting things sorted now. Cant believe im 24 weeks today. It's crazy xxx

I think as soon as im out that 21 week scan im off to buy stuff haha. Hubby wants the mamas and papas atlas cot set it is lovely. I instantly fell in love with a small swinging crib in JL & Dunelm do some lovely cot bedding and curtain sets which i also cant wait to buy!!

If i went by my own O dates im 20 weeks today which means officially half way thru. Actually cant believe its 50% over!

I find the movements which im still not sure are / are not can be quite painful at times, another reason why had a scan yesterday as got paranoid pain was a bad sign. Feel a bit more relaxed now but do look forward to kick counting etc.

May dh likes the atlas set too, I quite like the Dover. I couldn’t stop dh from buying things since the 12 week scan! He was so excited. I feel like I’ve got loads but I’ve still got loads to get.

I’m thinking of breastfeeding so I need a good chair for the nursery. Have you ladies thought about breast or bottle feeding yet?

Ill be breast failing that express failing that bottle :)
Well my hubby hasnt picked much out for baby ive very much taken over (haha) so i thought we would strike up a deal of he picks cot if i get to pick pram. Luckily for me he also fell in love with the pram we got, it was just perfect, the height/handle suited us just perfectly and it seemed like it had the biggest wheels and best suspension. Also he insisted we got a isofix so we got that, which was on offer when we bought pram so got that for £66 instead of £100 ish. I got the Venicci Gold 3 in 1 travel system, as i said its beyond perfect and i was chuffed when hubby fell in love with it as well. Out of Icandy/Silver cross it was the One!! I collect that end March/birthday week :)

Has anyones partners looked into how much maternity leave they will get? Mine just returned to work after 2 weeks off looked @ company policy and has found they get 6 weeks 100% paid. Is this standard? Was a bit shocked seem to good to be true! Haha but could be standard policy these days

Wow that sounds great, my partner will get 2 weeks but on statutory pay of £150 a week, my maternity pay isn’t great either!

I'm planning on breastfeeding too, my boobs haven't grown one bit though, their not even any fuller so I'm quite worried I wont have any milk.

Yeah my DH only gets statutory maternity pay too for the standard two weeks which is rubbish at 150 a week considering hes been here 5 years. I also only get statutory even though I've worked there for three years this year. So 6 weeks at 90% and then down to just under 150 a week. Rubbish. X

@benjis mum @maythe4thbewit
hubby works for Amazon, but seems to good to be true really.. fulll 6 weeks etc fully paid!? really!???
My mat pay will be standard rubbish haha, 90% or £150 whatever it is nowerdays
