****** May 2015 Mummies to be *******

I had to have the GTT because my BMI is borderline and my son was classed as a big baby, even though my daughter was an ounce heavier.
I had to fast for 12 hours, have a blood test on arrival, drink 384ml of original lucozade in 10 minutes and then sit and wait 2 hours to have another blood test xxx

Hope you and your OH have made up now Mayflower and all is ok

Hope you have a lovely week off Elliott

Happy Birthday Bigbee :-)

Ooh they did make a mess of that didn't they NatEvz. Hope you get good results.

Had another blood test for Vit D deficiency this morning and booked in for my whooping cough vaccination.

Hope everyone's having a good day xx

My GTT is next Monday, I had to have one last time too. My bmi is high and my dad has type 1 diabetes. The worst part is the two blood tests.

Natevz- your blood test description had my toes curling! You poor thing, I hope I have a better time of it than that.

Mayflower- hope you and your OH make it up soon.

My OH is in bad books, I had a row with him over leaving his clothes all stuffed on the floor down his side of the bed last week. He spent yesterday morning cleaning and vacuuming and the house looked lovely, then this morning there is a pile of clothes and a wet towel down his side of the bed again!! Why spend hours cleaning one day to leave a mess the next? I'm conducting a silent protest and have not done any of his laundry. Why should I leave it neatly washed and dried and folded on his side of the bed for it to end up in a heap on the floor?

Durham I'm loving the protest lol good for you!!

Happy Birthday Bigbee!!

And congrats to all those reaching milestones today!

Oh and thanks for the GT test info, I thought I'd been forgotten as it's never been mentioned to me.

It was such a silly argument but it really upset me. We both probably over reacted to be fair. My family are all Man Utd fans, my OH's are Chelsea, and I couldn't care less lol. My brother and dad went on a Man Utd stadium tour last week so they brought the baby a Man Utd babygrows as a jokey/fun present. They didn't mean anything by it. They gave it to us last night and were joking about baby wearing it whenever she goes to their house. My OH seemed to take it ok while we were with them, but as soon as we left the house he went mental. Shouting/swearing, saying how out of order my family were, that they're taking the piss out of him, how dare they buy her that, blah blah blah. My family have done sooooo much for us, and spent so much money on us and baby, I don't see what the big deal is that they bought her a jokey gift. He took it far too personally but he was so rude about my family, it really upset me.

I think I am very hormonal today, because work is getting me down too. They want me to do 12 hours today, have 4 kids (usual 2, plus 2 play dates) tomorrow after school, 12 hours on Thurs, and they've arranged for me to have 4 kids everyday during half term! I can't help but feel it's a response to me giving them my mat leave dates.

Don't worry about the argument. It's a silly one but I can understand that your oh was a bit touchy....football is a stupid subject. Like politics and religion.

Are your employers pay you extra for having extra 2 kids!? What a joke. It's twice as much work!!!! Probably isn't personal because of your maternity dates, but still a piss take. Did they even ask???? I'd be raging.

Mayflower tbh, if that had been me I would have probably been enraaaaaaged (due to hormones, i'm usually calm when not pregnant) and it would have upset me too... can totally understand you. it was a lovely gesture they bought something for the baby and as you said they were joking and probably in no way trying to offend your oh... bigbee is probably right and you probably shouldn't worry too much... my oh gets crazaaay too when it comes to football - which in my eyes is ridiculous, but that's just the way men are :P I'm glad mine and his family are both Arsenal fans haha! Spares me a lot of stress ;)

Gosh... my friends forced me to register on facebook again..haha! I deleted my account there almost two years ago, because I'm not too keen on it and now....meh i shouldn't have given in so easily..

oh and i had the weirdest dream last night... need to share: i dreamed I felt babies kick and you could see an actual foot shape in the bump... and then suddenly i saw one baby's face, as if she had been pressing her face against my bump from the inside and the shape of her face was seen from outside...in the dream that didn't seem unusual or odd to me at all and I took a picture with my phone and showed it to my mum and oh "LOOK HOW BEAUTIFUL SHE IS"...woke up this morning and was like.... WHAT on earth was that... checked my phone, no baby face haha jk

Hope things are ok Mayflower. I don't follow football and neither does my OH, but would be upset if he slated my family (and visa versa). Hope you've made up now.

giuliaplus2 that was a strange dream :-)

How long do you wait when not feeling and movement before contacting midwife? I haven't felt baby yet this morning (even with a very cold drink) I don't want to be paranoid, but midwife did say to contact her if I don't feel movement, but she didn't say how long to wait. Thanks xx

Blueeyes i just go with my gut really, if you arent getting your usual patterns then Id ring, Try something sweet, or putting something really cold at the bottom of your bump etc to get baby moving?

Thanks Buttonbear.

Just got back from the hospital antenatal assessment unit, I phoned my midwife this morning and she said to phone labour ward. Called them and they said to go straight away for an assessment and always best to call if baby's movement pattern changes (she said always better to be safe than sorry, which I thought was nice). Took them a little while to find baby's heartbeat, but all ok. Midwife had a good feel of my tummy and said it felt like baby was face my back and that's probably why I couldn't feel her moving. They were really nice and didn't make me feel like I was being paranoid or silly.

Hope everyone's ok xx

Thanks for posting about this. Glad to hear all was well :) I'm trying not to get paranoid about movement and have wondered if mw's will think I'm being silly.

At the most tend to just get odd feeling of a kick through the day just very occasional but more in the evening and through the night. Hoping now nearly 25 weeks it will become more regular but have to see.

My own daughter is on carrying strike so it was lovely to have a go today with my niece whilst showing my sister in law how to get her on her back xxx

Blueeyes, glad everything is ok! Phew.

Nat, how cute!!

It does pass honey but it will come and go i'm afraid lol. It's fine you go for it though, makes you feel a bit better xxx

Ahh lovely picture NatEvz

Mayflower I felt really stroppy at work this afternoon, not sure if its hormones or the people I wok with ha ha  Hope you feel a little less stressed soon.

I managed a little swim after work today, first time I have been so the gym in a week as back has been too painful. Luckily back has been good today, didn't do too much though as didn't want to push my luck!

Thanks everyone. I really didn't want to be paranoid, and was surprised they said to go straight down but they made me feel glad that I had checked and were so lovely.

Took some bump photos tonight, but don't know whether to post them, I look huge. After someone commenting yesterday about the size of my boobs, Someone I know from the gym saw me in the changing rooms tonight and said 'my god your boobs and bump are massive, how long have you got left to go' :-( xx
