Oh by the way. I was talking to the MW about healthy eating after she told me not to have sugar before the blood test at next appointment. So I said that I hardly eat anything sweet, to which she replied "that's fine, what I mean by sweet is, say, a can of coke and a Mars bar".

So guess what????? I had to have a can of coke and a bounty after I got back to the office! Just because she said it. I blame her.

Bigbee I'm like that, someone says something and I'm like I NEED to have that NOW! Never normally a sweet person either.

Hugs to all those feeling crappy :( Its not easy hope you all feel better soon. I hope your'e okay blueeyes?!

Ive had a lovely afternoon with my friends and their babies but i am shattered now zzzzzzz

So tonight's the night, Blake is moving from his cot to a toddler bed  After throwing himself out last night we can't risk him doing it again and hurting himself. I've bought him a new duvet and a Thomas the Tank Engine cover which he is so excited about :good:

Any bets on where we find him asleep later? In the wardrobe? Behind the door? Lol x I'm just hoping he sleeps at all as I'm still knackered :nap:

I'm glad it made you smile Durham (I laughed at myself too - and so did the hubby)

Oh blue eyes I'm sorry works being rubbish! Let it all out!!

Urghh ive suddenly just come over feeling horrendous :(

VERY sleepy, achey, breathless and just really lethargic and yuck :(

I cant until my son goes to bed at 8 and yeah i had my flu jab, it does feel very fluey though :( Do not like

I also had flu jab button bear and my dad and his friends did and we've all had this terrible flu apparently it's a mutated version from the flu jab itself so we're unprotected from it. That's what my dad's friends nurse said anyways. Xxx

o had he same symptoms when I had the flu jab buttonbear. Hang on in there, you should feel better in no time. And on the plus side I am the only one at work not to have come down with the dreaded thing.

Yea it's a side effect from it. It's like the mmr sometimes you can get measles from the jab but a lot milder than what it would have been.

How comes you're only just getting the jabs now ladies? Flu seasons nearly over isn't it?

Durham hope Blake sleeps well, my money is on you waking to find him snuggled in with you :-)

Hope you feel better soon Button

Sorry to moan and sorry it's long. But here goes…..Please tell me if you think I am being unreasonable.

So background is, I work with all men in an office in IT/online/developer environment. I have worked there 9 years and worked very hard to get to where I am. I am one of only 2 women in the department (the other lady is my assistant, I manage just 1 person). The guys can often be inappropriate – don’t get me wrong I am by no means a prude but think there’s a time and a place for things to be said/done, but they don’t seem to think that. I’m fairly thick skinned and don’t let it bother me usually. One guy goes on a lot, often joking I should get the teas/coffees or answer the phone. Before Christmas he said a nasty comment about ‘oh no we mustn’t do that in case we make ***** have an involuntary miscarriage.(don’t want to put my name on public forum) I thought it was out of order but ignored it.

The last few weeks the office has been so hot, it’s been giving me headaches and making me feel quite dizzy. Radiators are set to be at 19/20 when on number 3, the guys have had them on number 5 plus had an electric heater on too. I have been wearing short sleeves and still roasting. I know I will feel warmer being pregnant, but its really hot. All other departments have radiators on normal, no extra heaters and wear jumpers over their shirts if they are cold, these guys just wear the same shirts they have on in summer. Well when I mentioned I was very hot and could I turn the heather down/off, I just got lots of comments about being hormonal and laughed at for my heat fluctuations as they put it.

Anyway tried to cope with it although it was giving my headaches all the time. Last Friday I came in to find one had put a thermometer on my desk, he said they are all cold and this will prove its just me, well it didn’t it was 24 in the morning and 28.5 from lunch time onwards – is it me or is that hot??

In the summer they would complain that’s too warm to work in. I spoke to HR, they agreed that’s hot, they had a word and said * is wearing tshirts to keep cooler, can you put jumpers on before turning on extra heaters if you are cold. However nothing has changed, I was so hot in there today I thought I was going to faint.

On top of that I have been doing 2 peoples job for nearly 2 years, they were supposed to recruit months ago and still haven’t, so my workload is ridiculous and no one covers for me when I’m off. Think it just all got to me today, may seem silly but I feel like I’m being got at, and its making me feel uncomfortable at work. One guy even asked me if I was feeling moist with a big grin on his face – yuk moist!!

Sorry that was so long, needed to get it off my chest xx

I had my flu jab at 7 weeks. But still managed to catch it :( but not as bad as last year tbh. Ended up with a bad chest infection. Im in so much pain in my upper back and rib tonight. Baby b has pushed her bum right up and im close to tears with it now. Fingers crossed baby moves soon. Xxx

blueeyes that sounds absolutely awful :( i'm so sorry you are putting up with that s**t!
Are you friendly enough with them to chat with them one on one about how you're feeling? Maybe catching them on a break or something, nothing formal? I don't see it would go down well it you approached it with them in a group. Men have 'pack' mentality and would just try to impress each other.
They are being real pigs though!
Otherwise i'd take it further and maybe get someone higher up involved?

And YES that heat is ridiculous to work in and theres no wonder you feel rubbish! You have to do something about all this xx

Thats the thing Jessiecat they seem to encourage each other and almost bring the worst out in each other. I tried talking to them before I spoke to HR, admittedly not separately. It's difficult as one of them is my manager, so I don't want to make things worse for myself. The comments I could cope with but the heat is making me feel rubbish during the day xx

Just wrote a long reply and its disappeared!

It's disgusting their behaviour you need to stand up for yourself. I would well and truly be disappointed if any of these "men" were my son/husband/any man I know!

I would go unplug the heater and turn the radiators back down. I would start keeping a diary of any inappropriate remarks made. Also start correcting them with the way they talk to you. I'm all for a bit of banter but there's humour and just plain evil remarks.

A mixture of all of it will be wearing you down I'm sure.
Not long left, just remember that. You'll be finished there soon. Are you due a risk assessment? Is it something that could be added on to that? Have they not changed at all since HR got involved?
I can't believe one of them is your manager. That's disgusting that he's letting all of this continue and not taking you're wellbeing into consideration with regards to the heat and your general mental happiness with regards to the pigism! X

Thanks Tasha and Jessie.

I have arranged another meeting with HR on Monday, to discuss and have a risk assessment. That's a good idea about keeping a diary of their comments. I to would be disgusted if any member of my family made someone feel like that. Had a good offload to mum on the phone tonight and to my boyfriend, and feel a bit less stressed.

Tasha isn't that annoying when you do a reply and it disappears, I've had that happen a few times

xx

Do you get weekends off? If so, just one more day to get through and then you get a break. Be honest with how things are with HR though, you cant go on feeling this unwell and worse - being ridiculed for it!!

Random question, does anyone know how you'd measure your own bump to see if you're on track? My 24 week midwife appointment isn't for another 2 weeks (26 weeks) but she said if I'm still measuring big shed send me for a growth dcan as she was suspicious about excess fluid. So I'm just laid here feeling curious and wondering how to do it?
