****** May 2015 Mummies to be *******

24 weeks on Monday for me! 12 weeks left at work!

I hadn't really thought about when to do my hospital bag yet, I'll probably end up taking far too much stuff!

On another note, how many cot sheets is it best to have? I have four for the crib, but two for the cot at the mo?

Ive got three cot sheets Mayflower, I've never not had a clean one available even when Blake has been sick in the night.

Moses basket sheets are another story, I never had enough with sick and leaking nappies!

It depends how much you do a washing etc I would say 4 crib ones is ample, make sure you get a waterproof cover for the cot matress to protect it from sick up or wees etc :)

Mayflower, I have zero sheets so far, so no idea :)

Jessie, why do you have to stay in? For observation?

Sorry to hear your feeling so rough Durham. Definitely sounds like a stomach bug. My oh had one just before xmas and he felt awful. Lots of fluid and as much rest as you can get. Im absolutely shattered. 3 nights in a row ive not got to sleep til gone half 1 due to back pain and then been woken continuously until I get up. Feel like im running on empty today and feel flued up again but maybe because im tired or im coming to the end of it now. . Im not sure. Little man's at nursery til 5 now. Got loads to do at home. Might do a bit then get back into bed for a couple of hours. I've been told to have my hospital bag packed by 26 weeks but I think that's because twins usually come early. I can't even remember what to pack for babies. I took way too much last time. What would you pack for 2 babies and a possible c section. So might be in fora few days after? Xxx

Its dangerous to go into labour naturally as cord could prolapse. So normally if baby is head Dow or even breech, pelvis is still covered by baby but if transverse and baby lying straight across pelvis I empty so if waters break it could bring the cord down reducing or stopping oxygen flow to baby so baby would need to be out within minutes.
that's the reason I really want baby to move, I don't so much mind the section, I just don't want to do the last month in hospital again! Especially as I have a son now to look after!

I always found I had cramp when I ate something salty (mainly a takeaway) so I made sure I would down a load of water to compensate for the salt.

Sheets- for the crib and Moses basket we had 2 each. Cot we had 4 (2 were waterproofs and 2 normal) tesco have a really good terry towelling waterproof sheet. It's not the typical plastic sheet which you cover with a cot sheet, you just use that itself as its material.

Woke up in the night to go wee, walked to the toilet with my eyes shut (to stop myself waking up fully) and I walked head first into the toilet door. I was a lot more awake after that haha

I think I'm going to have all my bits ready but not actually packed Until 37weeks. So if I do need to go in any earlier then the hubby can grab it all and shove it in a bag.

I go on maternity in 8 and a bit weeks, I'll be 30weeks on my last day of work. With it being a lifting job I just hope I can do it til then. I rest everything against my belly, so for now it's fine coz bumps still low. Can't wait to start though-I only work weekends evenings but the whole weekend seems centred around it.

Whooooop happy 24 weeks ladies. I missed loads so not had chance to catch up properly. Will message with Facebook details though xxx

I had 4 sheets for Moses basket incase of sick lol! 2 for cot.

I keep popping to tri 3 too! Tri 1 just seems so long ago. Still pop in but it just seems like ages ago we were there! 2 weeks 3 days till I move over :) xx

Who is it I should send fb details to?? I'm totally losing track Nd on phone seems to take ages at the min for me to go between pages

Is anyone else getting hungrier? Can't decide if it's the cold or the pregnancy, or both. I seem to be forever eating.

I eat healthy stuff, snacking on raisins or ryvita with cream cheese and cucumber. But Im not normally a snacker.
And I have yogurt after dinner every night, but I didn't used to eat after my evening meal.

Just had beans on toast, fruit juice, followed by raisins and I'm still a bit hungry!

I was super hungry all the time in the first tri, but now i get a little peckish midmorning, so I have an apple or a banana. Then I am fine until lunch.

Just been to my MW appointment. Belly is measuring bang on 24 weeks. Baby's heart beat is 158. She said it is within the range (110-160 b/min). To me 158 seems on the higher side, but the MW said it is fine. Phew.

Next appointment in 4 weeks. Have to do the bloods. One of the samples will be tested for sugar, i.e. diebetis...

Yea first tri and first half of 2nd I weren't massively hungry then I had a week of needing to eat every 3 hours as I was starving. I'm back to normal but eating so much chocolate! Need to stop buying it.

Yay for the ladies that have reached 24 weeks today. Happy v day! :-)

Durham, you poor thing. You're really not having it easy are you. I hope you've managed to get some rest and start to feel better!

I've spent all morning in bed, acid reflux was so bad last night that I couldn't get to sleep till gone 4. Finally dozed off then alarm for hubby to get up went off at half 6. Feeling a bit better now I've had more sleep but it's going to take all afternoon for me to wake up properly now!

26 weeks tomorrow! Still seems very surreal that in just a few weeks I'll be a mummy!

I'm going to think about getting hospital bag sorted soon, the extra fluid I have means I am at higher risk of going into labour early so I'd like to be prepared just in case.

Re cot sheets, I've ordered 6 for the cot bed and 6 for the crib, we'll have two cribs though, one for day time downstairs and one next to our bed for the first few months. I think crib sheets are the same size as pram sheets so they'll be good for the carry cot too.

Xx

Tasha I'm sorry but the toilet door thing made me laugh!

I'm trying to rest up but there's no chance of sleep, Blake has gone down for a nap, but the road outside is being resurfaced and my whole house us shaking! my poor cats are stressing at it, one is hiding under the bed and the other is meowing repeatedly at me to tell me she doesn't like it

Hope you feel better soon Durham, sounds like a stomach bug. You have really been suffering haven't you.

Jessiecat - I was thinking of starting to get bits for hospital bag over the next few weeks, hopefully won't need it for a while, but to break the spending down a bit.

Mayflower i've got 2 moses basket sheets so far, but not the cot ones yet.

Hope you feel better soon caseysmummy

Orion I have been waking up in the early hours (one of my many wee trips) and have noticed if i wake at 4 am ish then I'm really hungry. I don't have anything until i get up for work but i do lay in bed rumbling.

Hope you've caught up on sleep Jenb

Happy v day for all 24 weekers. I'll be there tomorrow!!
