****** May 2015 Mummies to be *******

Happy v day girls!! This is getting 'v' exciting!! Alongside work today in the form of emails and paperwork I'm baking a cake for MILs birthday and waiting in for a delivery of our travel cot. Sleeping well on my left but finding I'm waking up to hip pain in my R- wondering if a pillow would help now? Also finding when I turn over I get really sharp bump pains down at the bottom- guess its just my muscles protesting?! X

Willowburn - I use a spare regular pillow an sleep with it between my knees, down to my feet. I still ache some nights, but nowhere near as bad.

Thanks for the he advice ladies. I agree I think it's a stomach bug. I was sick once more around 6 am and slept until just, feel very tired but not sick anymore. Have kept water down since 6 but if im sick again I will ring my gp and ask for an appointment this afternoon. It's just come out of nowhere really. Willow burn I got a pillow a couple of weeks ago after suffering with hip painful and it's been a life saver for me and sleeping better usually and no longer aching on my hips in bed. Happy v day girls. I've only got 4 days left til v day. Can't wait! Xxx

Sorry to hear you are suffering with your back Jenb, hope the physio helps

Sorry to hear you are feeling unwell Caseysmummy, sounds like it could be a tummy bug, there seems to be a lot going around at the moment

Happy V day Mayflower and Durham :-)

Elliot mine has mainly been on the left hand side, however the last few movements I have felt have been on the right, so I just put it down to baby changing position :-)

Jessiecat I was saying to my mum about the whole laying on your back thing as even with a pregnancy pillow thats supposed to stop that, I occasionally wake up on my back. Both my mum (ok she had us years ago) and my sister (whose littlest is 4) say they were never told this. I am going to speak to midwife about this when I see her this afternoon.

Can I ask all of your advice re maternity leave? I am thinking of doing the following? Does this sound sensible to you?

I have to take holiday either at the start, end or split between start and end. So going to split it.

Also if i give birth before start of maternity leave date, I have to start leave then, and use holiday at the end.

So my plan (I think)
Due date 15/05/2015
Last working day in the office = 24th April 2015
27th April - 1st May 2015 Annual leave (5 days)
4th May 2015 = Bank holiday
5th May 2015 - 8th May = annual leave (4 days)
11th May start maternity leave

so 9 days of 2015 annual leave used, leaving me 22 days to take at the end

What do you think? I need to let HR know very soon. Moneywise I need to work as long as possible, but so many people have said to take a break before, hence me planning to use some holiday at the start.

Thanks xx

I think that sounds like a sensible plan, do you get bank holiday leave aswell that you can stick on the end?

I asked my MW last week about laying on my back. She said I shouldn't worry about it for weeks yet! Same goes for sleeping on the left. She reckons sleeping on the left helps when you start to feel uncomfortable, and baby gets big. I can still lay on my front (kind of), and being on my back doesn't cause me any grief.

The same was said by my other MW at 16 weeks.

If you feel dizzy when on your back then you should probably stop doing that....

Thanks Orion and Caseysmummy. Going to try a normal pillow tonight and hopefully that will help. Haven't struggled until now but had keyhole hip surgery to reattach a ligament last year and don't want to aggravate anything if possible

Hi ladies,

hope all are feeling the pregnancy bliss all around. Almost 26 weeks and exhausted! During the scan they said am expecting a girl :) have 2 boys so absolutely delighted. Touch wood all goes well. xx

Sephorah, where have you been? Haven't posted in a while...

Congrats on the baby girl :)

Ahhhh, so annoyed. Asked my OH to pop to the shop earlier to get some icecream to go with an amazing chocolate desert we have in the fridge. Got home, no icecream, and he gets home 2 hours before me!!! Maybe unreasonable, but I hardly ever eat sweets, and have been super uncomfortable all day :( all I wanted was some sugar to cheer me up!!!

Oh well.

Evening ladies. I've had a very lazy day after being up most of last night, still don't feel 100% though, haven't been sick since early this morning and have kept food and fluid down since thank goodness but still feel sickly but hopefully tomorrow will be a much better day!
Congrats on the baby girl sephorah! Hope everyone else is feeling well. Think early night for me tonight xxx

I think I'm coming down with another cold. Blocked nostril & keep sneezing :( will be getting Henry's calpol saline nose spray out again!

Early night for me too after I've devoured a tin of fruit cocktail (my new craving!) x

Ladies I'm so worried, about to go for a shower got undressed and something trickled down my leg!! Now i just don't know if it was a bit wee as i was bursting and she is SUPER low or leaking waters. I have rang the delivery suite(mw said to) and said to stick a pad on and ring in a few hours to see if anymore has come out.

Worrying beyond belief i haven't even made it to 24 weeks yet!! :( Lots of pressure down there but i am quite constipated too so maybe that.

Glad you got your pudding Bigbee :-)

Hope everything is all ok Buttonbear, please keep us updated.

xx

Hope everything is okay buttonbear. Keeping everything crossed for you. I thought my waters were leaking with my son at around 22 weeks but it turned out to be a little wee. I was checked out at the delivery triage and they were able to tell easily. Xxx

Hope you're ok buttonbear. Next time smell the liquid. Gross I know but it's an easy way to tell if it's wee or not.
