**March 2018 Mummies - Tri 2**

Where in the UK do you live Charlotte? With my first I went to Kiddicare and they have loads and an area where you can push them around - also they put in sandbags to represent different age children so can get a feel for it!

I am re using my pram from the first time around, its a Jane 3 wheel one. I'm planning to get an out and about nipper once the baby is a bit bigger as mine isn't fantastic for off road/muddy walks etc.

The pram I really like that I've seen is the Uppa baby but just can't justify the expense!

The one thing I'm debating buying is a next to me crib, but again not sure can justify it as already have a moses basket.

Charlotte My choice of travel systems is very limited as I have a little Mini convertible car which has a tiny boot. I also have a little boy who is nearly 6 so need the pram to fit into the boot! I have chosen the Oyster2 travel system as it can be very compact when folded. I do actually like the look of the Oyster2, which is lucky as I wouldn’t be happy having to make do with an ugly pram just because it fit in my car! (Really I should upgrade to a larger car but I love mine )

Summertime I was the same with the next to me crib as it isn’t cheap, however we decided to go for it as they hold their price well so will hopefully be able to sell it on after we’ve finished using it. We are going to use the Moses basket we already have for downstairs.

Thank you girls.

I live in Felixstowe. I know there is Kiddicare in Peterborough but I thought its only a warehouse. Did knot know there was a store as well. I don't mind driving there to have a look at the prams. Its only 1.3 hours drive.

At the moment I like Baby Jogger City Elite in denim. Will need to get a carry cot too.

Next to me crib is useful cause then you can check on your little one without getting out of the bed.

We will get a cot with a nest inside. Im not so sure about moses basket cause we have a large cat and he can jump on the moses basket.

There is an alternative to the Next to me crib and its the Babylo Cozi sleeper from Smyths. Its less expensive and gets just as good reviews and does the exact same as the chicco next to me. My sister is buying us that in Jan when maybe it will be reduced. We have a moses basket but keeping it downstairs in the living room.

Is anyone suspicious about the pram being in the house beforehand?x

I was with my son but now it's been in the house for years - its weird as people don't say the same about buying nursery furniture, clothes etc!

Thanks for tip I'll look at the Smyths crib. My son never slept well in the Moses basket and outgrew it so quickly we ended up putting him to sleep in the pram bassinet.

I was planning to get a sleepeyhead to go in the cot bed buy been reading various reviews on the safety of nests so now not really sure - planning to look into it all once I go on maternity as I'm pretty confident we have the essentials for when the baby first arrives.

My pram didn't fit in my boot easily but luckily my lease expires in April so I'm upgrading to something more family friendly - looking at the Qashqai at the moment.

We've had our pram for weeks :) Can't see how it could make any difference to anything! No car to worry about but we wanted something that would fold up small and easily in the house, and would be ok with fairly rough ground on dog walks. Although at the moment the dog is very uncertain about it so will need to have a few practice runs!

Summertime, what did you find about cot nests? Are they not safe? I will do a quick research too.

Ladies, I need some help. I am In absolute agony with tooth ache :( it kept me awake for 4 hours last night and had started again since I stated work at 11.30. I'm ringing the emergency dentist this evening when they open but does anyone have any suggestions of what I can take for the pain??

Toothache is horrific, hope the dentist can get it sorted! Paracetamol is fine but in my experience does absolutely nothing for toothache... You can try some strong mouthwash, eg Corsodyl, which might help to numb it a bit. Clove oil is another traditional toothache remedy that works by numbing the tooth, but it's an acquired taste! Hope you get it sorted soon x

Hope you get it sorted, I tired everything with toothache first pregnancy and nothing helped - just try get apopointment asap, they put temporary filling in for me and after that was fine.

Good luck with getting it sorted x

Last week of Tri 2 for me and things have gotten a little complicated, due to Gallstones I had some pains and my liver bloods have come back off, we are now preparing for a potential premature birth. Steroid injections are being administered with a goal to try and get to 30 weeks with twice weekly bloods and checks. Madam is currently fine its just my body putting her at risk. They also will be monitoring her growth closely. All fun and games and I don't care what I have to go through as long as she is healthy and protected. The joys we go through! How is everyone else getting on? xx

Oh fairycake that’s all very worrying for you! Fingers crossed she stays put a while longer. My niece was born at 29 weeks and she’s an absolute treasure. 9 months now and she’s doing really well. Always scary if they’re born premature but they can do wonderful things now to keep those babies inside as long as possible.
Look after yourself! X

Scary but at least you're being monitored closely and all is well at the moment. Fingers crossed that she can stay where she is for as long as possible!
