This is sooo exciting! Hopefully I'll be joining you very soon!

No probs, have done :)

Hope you and baby are well :)

10 day check and weigh in today and little lady is 8ozs over birth weight. I’m super chuffed as I’ve not been successful with BF before but we seem to be getting on well this time so far. I’m also doing really well after my section, walking around pretty normally and even did the nursery and school runs yest! Thinking of braving the shops Monday! Hope you are all getting on well

That's fab news Hoping!

My little pink bundle is doing really well - she's only lost 1% of her birth weight so that's really good. She has got a little thrush in her mouth so i've got some drops to give her to clear that up - thankfully she's happier now as it was giving her pain when feeding, not that this has affected her weight.

I'm up and about. I've not really gone into detail about our birth story but it was certainly eventful a few highlights; ambulance/post birth haemorrhage/ D&C operation for some missing placenta/blood transfusion! I really should type it up when I get more time, but I don't want to put any of the girls who have yet to give birth off really or worry them. Despite all the drama, I am up on my feet, luckily got OH here for another week but i've manage to walk Zac to preschool a few times and have got out the house. Hopefully by time OH returns to work, i'll be feeling even stronger.

Zac has been fantastic this week, so we're taking him out for the day on Sunday as a treat - our first official trip out as a family of four. I'm really looking forward to it!

Glad your babies are feeding well and gaining weight :)

We are day 15 today and because of new 'pathways' my LO has to go to hospital tomorrow for blood tests for prolonged jaundice as he hasn't regained his birth weight (only 70grams off). It seems the same kind of breastfeeding jaundice my eldest son had but theres a rule change so he's got to have bloods. I feel so sorry for him as they struggled to get bloods for genetic and downs testing (all clear) previously then someone made a mistake and put the bloods in the freezer so they had to repeat them... His hands have barely healed.

Sorry to hear about the trauma alipops, it was more dramatic for me too this time with a slower recovery. Enough time has passed though for me to consider having another baby haha!

He's settling quite well in his basket which im grateful for as im scared to cosleep this time! And not too many night wakings, in fact im usually picking him up for a feed when hes only fussing. Not getting my hope s up tho as my eldest was sleepy at first too (although refused the basket).

How's your little one doing Mel? Hope you didn't have to stay in hospital too long.

Reality strikes here today - OH is back at work. I have got both children at home as Zac has had a temperature all weekend and been very sleepy so i've kept him off preschool today, much to his annoyance so i'll send him in tomorrow regardless I think! haha.

So far i've managed to get us all dressed and fed. Steriliser has been on so we have plenty of bottles at the ready for Louisa and lots of other necessary jobs done. Just having a sit down while Zac plays and Louisa is asleep!

I think my mum is going to pop round later to help break up the day a bit for Zac, and to see Louisa obviously. Also, we're expecting the cleaner this afternoon, so she'll have to attempt to clean around us all!

Louisa is doing really well, above birth weight now. We've been discharged from midwife and already had visit from Health Visitor - that should be it now until she's 6-8 weeks old. She's a very good girl especially at night - one feed at 11pm, then another at 3/3:30am, then up around 6:30/7am - so I only really class that as one night feed really. I've already been putting dentinox colic stuff in her bottle as she really struggles with wind on and off.

Hi all..

I’m over here now. I need some folk to keep me sane over the next few weeks as I forgot how hard it was!

My baby was born 18.1.18 - a little boy weighing 7lb 13oz. No name as of yet. He is super cute and has red hair! Labour was quick and uneventful - which im very pleased about as I had anxiety about the exit process due to my first lo getting stuck. No problems this time round and delivered a screaming pink baby onto my chest which was so much better than last time!

Breastfeeding seemingly going well. Milk in today. No significant latch issues. Weigh day and heel prick tomorrow.

He’s rather settled in the day - doesn’t like being messed with for nappy and clothes changes etc but is otherwise a little pleasure. But night times are another story. He won’t go back into his Moses basket after feeds in the night :( so today my day started at like 3.30am well before then actually.

Any tips??

Ok Aurora Rose was born on 20th Jan at 8:20pm weighing in at a massive 8lb 3oz and 54 cm long, I ended up back at hospital at 3am after it was confirmed that my water was leaking and labor started on its own that night, was put on trace and her heart rate was rather high (stayed that way the entire labor) they gave me an epidural (after 3 failed attempts they called a specialist who got it first go) then bub was distressed unless I was on my left side so Epi only worked on one side ugh. Baby was spine to spine so had back labor the entire time. Had to get a stronger epidural put up as the walking one wasn’t working and the oxytocin put me into hyper contractions. Finally got to 10cm and pushed for about 20mins before the doctor told me she either had to use forceps or I’d have to have an emergency cesarean as baby was stuck sideways. I growled at her just do it get her out so after one good push her head was free and two more the rest came out. Needless to say the whole thing hurt and was traumatic but my girl is stunning and healthy so I’m thrilled. Don’t want to scare ppl but just want to say please don’t get to wrapped up in a birth plan just go with the flow and trust your instincts:) good luck to all the ladies still to go.

Congratulations! Your little boy sounds just like mine!! He’s chilled in the day but at night he won’t go in his crib after a feed so he’s been just staying in with me as I feed lying down but can’t keep that up as it kills my hips! Need to keep trying to put him in his crib but it gets to the point when I just need some sleep so keep him with me.

Morning ladies,

How is everyone and their baby getting on?

I’ve had a really good day today.

The feeding is going well. Despite him losing a fair bit and them sending me extra support I think I’ve turned a corner with it. I got some sleep last night which is good! We’ve bathed little legs for the first time today too.. which went better than expected.

Happy Friday.

Hope everyone else is ok

We got bub past birth weight at 5days old which was awesome and she’s sleeping 4hrs at a time at night which we are loving lolwe even managed to go out for dinner with her last night where I fed in public for the first time went ok with the Muslin wrap over her so that was great

Hi ladies. We’ve had a rough week with our little one as she’s been very unsettled and not always feeding well, screaming and fussing at the breast and then not sleeping after for more than 20 mins at a time in the day. She’s now on gaviscon for suspected reflux. It seems to help a bit but she’s now constipated so is on disconfirt from that so feel we’ve just swapped one problem for another. Think will go back to doc this week and see if she can be put on something else instead. She’s a lot better overnight and we’ve had some 3.5 hour stretches but typically awake every 2 hours. Luckily hubby is helping with an expressed bottle so I can get to bed and get some sleep before she comes up. Finding I don’t have a minute with the other two and everything that needs done in a day, but loving having newborn cuddles again and starting to get regular smiles now which is just lovely.

Glad to hear things going well Torino and Mystery x

I hope things settle for you Hoping - there is nothing worse than feeding issues and trying to find out what helps. We're having similar issues here.

Louisa was starting to scream/cry on Thursday and Friday after a feed, and also had constant trapped wind or tummy pain it seemed constantly, also causing crying. She's formula fed, as was my son. By 8 weeks he had developed an issue with the lactose in formula so ended up on Lactose Free formula from the docs on prescription - this seems to be an issue in my family, as my brother's two children had the same issue! Fortunately, you can buy lactose free formula from Boots so on Friday afternoon I bought a tin to try with Louisa. [It's £6 for a tiny tin tho!).

Well, i'm so glad I did because she's a different baby (not that she was horrendous, she was good, but I could tell things were starting to become an issue with the milk). Now, she's calm, drinking more - has sunk a few 4oz bottles, whereas I was struggling to get 3oz in her on the normal formula. No major screaming/crying tummy pain dramas. So, i'm going to take her to the docs tomorrow to see if they'll put it on prescription like with my son. If not, then we'll just have to buy it from Boots, because i'm convinced it's the right milk for her.

She's also had Thrush in her mouth since she was born, we're on the second bottle of this stuff from the docs, but it doesn't appear to be clearing even though she's no longer bothered and it doesn't affect her feeding at all. Going to ask the doc about this too!

On another note, we had our first full week alone last week as OH went back to work, and we survived. Granted, I had probably booked too many things in the week as it was a bit too busy at times but it went well. Have got less on this week, so i'm looking forward to a bit more chilled time! I did get Zachary to preschool on time with all of us dressed - that was a serious win.

Have you been checked for tongue tie? My daughter screamed and fussed and had it even tho it was missed by a few midwives!! With my son now, I seem to have an overactive letdown so he’s struggling with how fast my milk comes out but it will settle soon x

Hi Karen, yes I saw a breastfeeding counsellor and she said she has a slight posterior tongue tie but she didn’t think it was affecting her feeding as she checked her suck and it was ok. I also seem to have a fast flow which doesn’t help but it seems to be settling now and she chokes a lot less! She’s actually been much better this week without taking any meds. Perhaps just her tummy settling? It’s so hard to know what’s up with a newborn!
