****** January 2015 mummy's to be ******

Yay millie you've made the jump over! I thought I jumped too soon lol but you might as well face facts! ;)

I phoned the doctors and just said I didn't know what to do but I'd got a positive pregnancy test. They transferred me to midwife services as it's all dealt with centrally and they set up my first midwife appointment (at around 8 weeks) and my scan (they also asked me as the first question where I wanted to deliver which totally threw me!!!!)...they said no need to see a doctor before that unless you think something's wrong/are worried. I'm in Edinburgh though so process might be different in England.

I still have AF like cramps constantly which I know is probably normal but does terrify me a bit at the same time. I've also (tmi alert) had to resort to prunes to help things along. Grim. Is anyone else having trouble sleeping? I'm usually out like a light around 10:30 and never awake after 11 (hello grandma) but I am hardly sleeping at the moment and it's taking its toll! x
xx

Haha yeah, didn't want to wait any longer lol came over on the same day as bfp :p

Ooh wow taboo that's so exciting, is your scan all arranged then?

I'm having trouble sleeping on a night taboo but then really tired all day, probs just excitement atm though haha

I'm having no trouble sleeping, I'm never usually asleep before midnight but I'm so tired just lately!

Xx

I'm going to cautiously join this thread as can't wait hehe :) got my bfp today on one of the blue dye cross tests and was pretty strong! :)
i got bfn on a digi though hence being cautious but hoping its just as they are more sensitive! Hoping for a super sticky bean after a m/c at 14 weeks last preg. Due date will be around 28th Jan :) xx

Congratulations and welcome to jan mums club! X

Not having a scan no - will maybe consider an early scan as think I will be impatient to wait till 12 weeks!!

Hi Everyone.

I am due 5th Jan 2015 and this will be my first baby. I did have a miscarriage when I was 16 so a little scared this could happen again but I am 24 now and body stronger so hopefully it will all be fine!!

Cant wait for 2nd tri though to stop the worrying so much!!!

babybell I know how you feel, had m/c when I was 18 at 14 weeks and super nervous about this preg! Will be so glad to get well into second tri .

Fingers crossed for a super sticky bean for you!

Yes scans all arranged - NHS one is on 7th July and I've booked a private one for the 15th June.

I thought it was excitement but now I'm not so sure - not to say I'm not still excited but I'm not as manic as the first few days lol! xx

Eeeek how exciting! :D

How many weeks will you be for private scan? I think I'm gonna book one at around 9 weeks and then use scan pic to tell parents :) xxx

God I can't keep up with this thread so I will just congratulate everyone.

I have self referred to the MW.

There was an online form I just completed that and posted it (will chase it up early next week if I have not heard anything)

I am going to the same hospital I had James in (hopefully to the birthing centre) and last time I got a letter with my booking appointment and dating scan info by the time I was about 6 weeks. I did see a GP then though and they referred me so I am not sure if self referral is quicker.

To help us keep track maybe the lovely OP can pop all or names and due dates on the first post??

X

Either can I lol ! Thanks my gp send I should get a letter in a few weeks, 3 weeks ago so hopefully I will here soon, he did give me the midwives number so will wait another two weeks and see I should here by 8 weeks shouldn't I ? X

I think I'll be around 8 weeks - we're planning same as you to use scan pic to tell our parents

Aw :D it will be lovely telling them with scan pic.

I'm so nervous about telling mine lol as still got a year of uni left

Im 7 weeks 3days today and since about 6weeks I have been a terrible driver having lots of little bumps in the car and just cant seem to concentrate when I am driving - anybody else have anything like this?

Hope so - my in laws will be over the moon I know but I'm a bit afraid of telling my mum. No idea why I'll be 30 in 2 weeks been married for 2 years etc. AND she knows that we've been ttc...I just always get a bit afraid telling my mum big news lol!

I'm sure your parents will be fine you've obviously thought it through as you were trying to conceive it wasn't a happy accident - I'd just try and allay any concerns they may have up front. But hopefully they'll just be so excited they'll forget about any of that boring stuff! :) x

I'm the same with my parents (will be their first grandchild). I'm pretty sure they think we don't want children so it is going to be a shock for them. Hopefully a good one! We have been married a while and are (ahem) getting on a bit for a first baby but it hasn't been for lack of trying! People have been staring at my middle since we got married and we have had to keep brushing away comments as noone knows we have been ttc. My sister will be thrilled though (I bet she will cry with excitement!). My father in law has cottoned on that we have been having fertility problems so I think he will also be happy.

Fingers crossed it all goes well for everyone :)

This will be my folks 8th Grandchild (all aged 5 and under  ) and my In-laws 6th (all bar one aged 5 or under)

We have a lot of kiddies in our family. James has 10 first cousins already.

X

Ah wow you have a lovely big family carnat! :)

This will be my parents and OH's parents first grandchild, so eeek :) xxx

How lovely for them having so many cousins. I have lots of cousins too and we are still close after growing up together. I'm a little sad that any children we have won't get the same, my sister is disabled and can't have children and my husband is a lot younger than his sister, her children are adults. He does have another sister but they aren't on speaking terms, her little boy is 6. Hopefully my parents first grandchild and my father in laws 4th. :)

MillieLaura - what are you doing at uni? I am in my second year of nursing, I will finish my second year, hopefully have the baby in the Christmas holidays and miss one module then go back for April IF they allow it other wise ill have to go back in September.

I think no matter how old you are, planned or a surprise its always daunting telling your folks ha!
