I'm going to book an early scan for around the 7/8 June which is the weekend before I hit 8 weeks. I'm a bit nervous still has have zero symptoms other than serious baby brain. I keep forgetting things and earlier I was driving my car and suddenly forgot where I was going?!

Just wish I felt a bit more pregnant to help me believe it! I plan to do another digi tomorrow and hopefully it'll be a 3+!

Hi ladies, I got my BFP on Sat (my sisters bday hehe!) at 14dpo, my clearblue digi yesterday read 2-3 weeks which would be right as I tracked ov and when we dtd.

I have a GP apt booked for fri, what happens at it? I thought they'd take a blood sample but now hearing that that doesn't happen? Somehow I can't fully accept being pregnant until I've seen the doctor- in my head it's like by going there he'll seal baby in and I won't mc again! Bizarre but hey! x

Very little happens at GP appointment, in fact I decided not to bother going this time and just phoned the midwife unit direct and self referred. The GP doesn't test, they just fill in a referral form to send to midwife and make sure you're taking folic acid / give you a list of foods to avoid. I thought it was a waste of time and an appointment, so as I say, haven't been.

Thanks Clare, it's a bit disappointing to hear nothing much happens at the apt. I'm still going to go as it's my 1st pregnancy so don't know numbers etc and psychologically I'll feel better having gone and making it official! Do you know how long it's likely to be before I see the mw? I know it'll vary on area and how busy they are, but do they not see you till after a certain week or anything? x

My midwife appointment is @ 9wk 6d, but my sister who is a few weeks ahead of me and in another nhs area, had her first appointment at 8weeks. I think with my first baby it was about 8 weeks.
I got this appointment through the post within a couple of days of phoning up and referring myself. My 12 week scan appointment came a day later in a seperate letter

My time is going quite quickly at the moment Nat, but my hubby is away so dealing with my 7 month old by myself this week so not much spare time to do anything. Will probably slow up again when he's back and I get some time to myself again.

On my third pregnancy and I seem to have forgotten everything from the early days of the previous two!
Cramps are normal aren't they? I've been getting some particularly on my right side, not sore but quite uncomfortable :/

Yeah cramps are normal! Ive had some too yesterday and this morning feels like ive done loads of sit ups lol xxx

How are u all today girls? I have my first scan tmz. I'll be 6+5 (due to the spotting I posted about last wk). Part of me is willing away the next 24hrs and part of me is frightened that they don't see anything x

Hello hormones! Had to resist throwing a brush at OH this morning for not picking up cat poo on the lawn for 2 days! I've never been violent towards him before and feel really sad I was about to throw a brush at him! Emotional mess today!

I can confirm not a lot happens at GP appointment! I went yesterday and all he did was take my blood pressure and refer me to midwife so not sure how long it will take for them to get in touch?

Is there any cure to the bloating?! Mine was just in the evenings but is now happening at work and I can't hold my tummy in for a long time lol! I feel like I'm going to be humongous at this rate even though I know it's bloat not bump!

I have cramps as well had them since the day before my BFP, not bloating cramps but enough to constantly niggle at me - I'm trying not to worry as know they're normal but hard not to! x

Daniellee - good luck for your scan! I'll be 6+5 tmz and worried nothing will show!! Can u let me know if it was an abdominal scan? I'm not sure what to expect tmz! X
