****** January 2015 mummy's to be ******

I'm doing Psychology at uni Hev :) not as hard work as nursing must be!
I'm hoping that they will just let me miss a month or so after having baby and then I can start going back to lectures as I'l only be in two days a week for 2/3 hours. Hoping they will let me do the things I miss just from home :) will have to speak to them about it.

Yeah defo always daunting telling parents I think!! xxx

I'm still nervous telling my folks (and in-laws) even though we're nearly 34, have been together 7 years year and we already have a baby

Last time we told everyone pretty early. This time we have decided to hold off for a bit. I know everyone is going to be excited but also worried about how we will cope with two under two. I'm not sure how I'm going to cope with two under two but I just want to enjoy being excited about being pregnant at the moment. I know there is going to be loads of comments and I don't want it to be a downer. We might wait until after the first scan but last time I was so bad with MS that I couldn't have waited beyond about 8 weeks anyway.

Think I'm gonna tell parents after early scan around 8/9 weeks then friends after nhs scan at 12 weeks.
Yeah bunny you defo want to just enjoy being preg without peoples comments for now :)
I'm just waiting for people saying "was it planned" as being at uni they probably dont think baby was planned even though im engaged etc. Anyone whos cheeky enough to ask that il be giving all the sordid details about ttc to haha.
Bunny last preg i was also really bad with ms so fingers crossed we dont get it as bad this time xxxx

I am new to all of this as just found out I was pregnant last friday I have a docs appointment in 2 weeks when I will be around 9 weeks pregnant - does everyone get a early scan or is this something you have to request for? Is the normal just around your 12 weeks?

Im not sure what happens yet so any advice would be great??

Yeah normal with NHS is around 12 weeks but if you want earlier scan then you have to go private usually :) xxx

Congratulations :) I think you only get an early scan if there is a medical reason (unless you pay for it yourself). My doctor is sending me for an early scan as we are undergoing fertility investigations and they cannot use my lmp as a dating reference.

Hi ladies how is everyone doing? Still haven't told my partner yet lol :| definitely telling him this week when haven't got the kids n just us 2.

If I go off the clearblue digital when I got my 3+ I'm 7 weeks tomorrow!!!

Tentative Jan newbie!
Hi ladies, I got my BFP on Sat (my sisters bday hehe!) at 14dpo, my clearblue digi yesterday read 2-3 weeks which would be right as I tracked ov and when we dtd.

I have a GP apt booked for fri, what happens at it? I thought they'd take a blood sample but now hearing that that doesn't happen? Somehow I can't fully accept being pregnant until I've seen the doctor- in my head it's like by going there he'll seal baby in and I won't mc again! Bizarre but hey! x

Congratulations to all the newest Jan mums to be!

Is there a running list yet of who is due and when?

Congrats!

Very little happens at GP appointment, in fact I decided not to bother going this time and just phoned the midwife unit direct and self referred. The GP doesn't test, they just fill in a referral form to send to midwife and make sure you're taking folic acid / give you a list of foods to avoid. I thought it was a waste of time and an appointment, so as I say, haven't been.

Hello, gently edging in to tri 1 and can feel my anxiety rising already :)
From lmp I'm due 28th of January!

Thanks Clare, it's a bit disappointing to hear nothing much happens at the apt. I'm still going to go as it's my 1st pregnancy so don't know numbers etc and psychologically I'll feel better having gone and making it official! Do you know how long it's likely to be before I see the mw? I know it'll vary on area and how busy they are, but do they not see you till after a certain week or anything? x

Making a cautious appearance in here - in theory I'm due around 15 Jan (according to the internet) but after the trauma of finding out I had a MMC the day before my nuchal scan I plan on keeping my distance until I'm past that stage this time.

I did ask Mummy2toddler if she would add names and EDD to the first page but I know she has an older toddler and a little one so she may not have time.

It would be easier to keep track though?

Is time dragging?

I have an 18 month old and I work full time and I feel like time is standing still.
