How soon after sex should I expect a test to be reliable?

I had sex 13 days ago tomorrow, and do not have a regular cycle no more!

NHS website says leave it 3 weeks, but that's an awfully long time!

In theory, 14dpo is the earliest you should test. but assuming you ovulated 13 days ago, you should be fine to test tomorrow too. just get a test that detects earlier, like a frer. one of those would most likely be positive by 13dpo

The reason the NHS says three weeks is because sperm can live for up to 5 days. So assuming you had sex 13 days ago and sperm can live up to five days, you may only have conceived 8 days ago and therefore, too early to test. Good luck xx
