How are all you new mummies doing?

I hate it when they say that like my kid is stupid because he sleeps?

Yeah, I had one that slept through from 7 weeks. He must be extra stupid. She said it really loud too in a room full of people waiting too.

My mums hv told her thst my brother wasn't tall (I he's 32 and 6ft now lol) because he didn't nap enough lol

Hoping Luke sleeps the next 5 nights as hubby gies away tomorrow for four days :(

Hope you ladies are having a good day. Got S weighed and she's 19lbs 2!! I swear I'm not feeding her burgers - what's she gonna be like when she gets food too??!!

Luke only weighed 16.5 last time but he's constantly moving I swear he never sits still lol I'm sure it will all be fine Hun

I'm playing dangerous games with Luke lol his bum is red so he's having nappy free time... Could end badly lol

^ know that feeling! I'm still battling with Thomas' nappy rash. He keeps pooing every nappy which doesn't help. I'm using metanium nappy rash ointment which is working apart from one stubborn patch which is taking it's time!
Normally sudocream or barrier cream works but not this time.

Hasn't gone to a rash just red. If he would just stop pooing for a bit it's be fine lol. I'm
Doing hourly changes today and tomorrow to get on top of it.

This is the first time he's ever got a rash, he was red and u did everything I normally would but it still ended up in a rash! Who knows!!

It's just that his poo is so moist right now bless him.

That's Hayley away to her dad until 7pm tonight so I'm gutting our room. Just sorted her wardrobe out, so everything is hanging up in order. Put all her 0-3 clothes in a bag for the charity shop, but kept a few items for her memory box. I swear I'll need a second memory box before she's 9 months at this rate haha.

I've got a HV coming to the house tomorrow to talk about childsmile (as I don't know the local ones at my new address) and to talk about weaning. I've already been spoken to about weaning so don't know if it's just an overlap since changing over GPs, but worth a listen I guess! As Hayleys now 5 months so won't be long til she starts eating foods

Why charity shop!!! You should sell it in bundles! It can go towards milk or new clothes etc?

Oscars come home with a scratch on his face and a bump mark :( had to sign the book and listen to how they happened

Apparently he's been abit sicky aswell today with only a 10 min nap this afternoon :( humph

Luke scratches himself all the time and bumps hus head when he's rolling around in the floor and things but I'd def be asking about it tomorrow

Don't think I'd make much for them, so quicker to give to a charity shop, and if any mums are struggling they can get

Aww poor Oscar :( Hayley has a scratch on her face just now, she got it when with my ex on Saturday - Sunday :(, I then tried to cut her nails to stop another bad one and I cut her finger urgh!! Felt awful for it.

Question! Is it 6 months or a year you stop sterilising everything ?

You need to steralise bottles fir as long as they hsve formula

I've never sterilised bowls or spoons lol I just don't see the point

I understood it to be 6 months. Once they're being weaned, bacteria is being introduced into their digestive system anyway. Regardless tho, I'll continue to sterilise because I'll keep them in the steriliser anyway!

Sorted Austin's nursery placement out today!

Went to view another nursery to be sure & they only had tues afternoons available. Good job I preferred to the initial one but had a mini panic thinking I might have left it too late! Thankfully they have the days available I need. Just gotta go pay a place retainer fee that'll be knocked off my first bill

How long should I continue sterilising?

Continue to sterilise your baby’s bottle feeding equipment for at least his first year. You may think sterilising is rather pointless when your baby is putting all sorts of things in his mouth. However, your baby's immune system is still developing and it's easy for him to pick up infections during his first year. The bugs that stick to milk curds in partially cleaned bottles can be particularly nasty.

Like with everything they advise to be of the safe side tho as long as you thoroughly clean your bottles then it won't matter because you had the milk to hot water which kills the bacteria. If you're giving them good bacteria enters the body & you're not sterilising bowls & spoons the same can be said.

I'll continue for the reason I've said :) the bacteria isn't really a concern now Austin is weaned

Ahh so if it touches formula - sterilise until 1 year old

I've been extra proud of Hayley the last few days as she's really been doing well at moving her legs when standing like she's really trying to walk.
