How are all you new mummies doing?

I'm not ready to leave Oscar but unfortunatley needs must and I don't have a choice :(

It went well! Got his little diary thing with his nappy changes and times, food he's had, bottles and how much he's drank, water how much he's had, who he's played with and what he's done!

MIL visited him 3 times whilst she was there ( she works 9-12) lol

Same tomorrow :(

Glad he sounds like he had a good day, it's so hard to leave them isn't it but nice to see them having fun n enjoying it too. I always feel so lost on a weds wen he is at nursery.

I hope so Michelle!

I don't envy you Bex (can't yet accept that I'll have to go back to work next year :-( ), but glad it went well.

That's good your mil is around Bex. Gives him a familiar face to see. Glad it went well. Awful when they just cry.

Hope you feel better soon Jojo! A few folk on my facebook have had a nasty sickness bug the last few days.
Aww Bex won't be nice to leave him but glad it went well!

I've pretty much decided for sure that I'm not going back to work after my 9 month maternity leave is done.

It's not really a sickness bug... I feel sick because of a pressure of gas in my stomach - I've had no sickness that wasn't because of that and I've had no diarrhoea. It's just weird and it's been well over a week. Doc didn't even examine me - just a telephone consultation.

Wow it's been a long day! Maddie hasn't been well, I guessed she was going to be since me and hubby haven't felt 100% this weekend, poor baby has been crying and just wanting cuddles, managed to eventually get her into her own bed at 10 so only just had dinner! There's definitely something going around!

Aw oscar looked so cute bless him, glad his first day was ok!

I won't be either kaedin since my work were so Un accommodating. Hoping to find another job when my leave runs out - won't be what I normally do for work cos part time is hard to come by unless I go into London which I don't want to do. Thinking just a shop job would do me for a couple of years while Maddie's young, hopefully evenings and Saturdays so either hubby or my mum can watch her so no childcare to worry about

Oh right! Hopefully it will tail off now as it's been so long then!

I'm just going to stay at home with Hayley until she's at least a bit older.

My work operate from 8am - 10pm (until midnight on some sale events ect too) and I can't do that with a child. Even trying to afford childcare alone is hard during nursery business hour, then I've still got travel expensive, living costs on top, nevermind the fact ill hardly see her especially as she's got time with my ex too when she won't be home

Have you even thought about requesting flexi time or have your hours changed? They have to consider it by law-

You may find a part time job will keep you going abit and entitle you to working tax credits, child tax credits, housing benefit, council tax relief, milk vouchers, fruit and veg vouchers, and every ther benefit going to don't write off what 16 hours a week working could deliver you in return :)

At the moment I'm not looking to get housing benefit as i think i'd be lonely with just me & LO. I can't drive yet so would need to rely on public transport to see my family, so i'd end up secluded. So I think im best with my parents ATM. Which means no rent & bills as such.

I'll lose my working tax credits, but ill still get some child credits, child benefit, income support and when she's a little older can get a PT job with reasonable hours that can tie in with a nursery

My OH doesn't want me to return to work. I don't want to either but don't think we can cope financially without the little bit of extra cash left over after childcare (certainly if we ever want to buy a 3 bed house we will need me to be in work). Have lost all interest in my career but everyone keeps telling me I will want it back in a few years so shouldn't rush to give it up. It's so hard balancing all the needs and wants and future considerations.

I'm feeling a bit rubbish this morning. Woke at 4am for a night feed with a sore throat and just feel lousy now - foggy head, stuffy nose etc. Joy.

Luke woke up with an almighty scream at 6:00! No idea what for but went back to sleep after some cuddles then didn't wake until 8am for his 7am bottle. Weird boy

That being aaid he slept absolutely solidly from 7pm-6am without a stir!

I'm home! S was a wee dream and slept the whole flight home after me feeding her on take off. My legs are paying for it this morning mind.

Quite worried about her tho, she has came back with a horrendous cough, it started a few days ago but got worse over the day yest. We had to run through and sit her up a few times in the night! Is there anything I can give her? x x

Cough will have been made worse by the flight - all the recycled air

We have some calcough for Luke from when he had his cough- worked nicely and cleared it up on a few days

I'll have a look at that thanks jojo. Yeah defo made it worse on the flight. It's such a bad hacking cough now but she doesn't seem to be getting anything up. Will take her to docs tomorrow too I think if it hasn't got better. You feeling any better?

Nope. Still feeling crap. Period not here yet either. I'm sure I'm not pregnant- all my symptoms apart from the cramps have suddenly gone and a pregnancy test would have surely shown by now.
