How are all you new mummies doing?

Just looked up blw recipes. In one blog there was a little baby with what looked like a chicken drumstick from KFC! Scared me a bit. I've been giving Emma toast and cooked veges, and will try these porridge sticks tomorrow. And will definitely expand her finger foods as it keeps her entertained while we eat dinner. But don't think I can just go straight too big chunks of meat etc.

Oscar has organix rice cakes/crisps

Toast, steamed veg, soft fruits but also fridge cold apple sticks for his teeth

He chokes and gags abit - lol

I might get some of those biscotti biscuits. Are they the ones that are really hard so they jst suck on them till they to mushy?

Yeah Emma gags a bit when she jams whole bits of veg in her mouth, and most ends up on the floor. But I guess it's a start!lol.

Also been using the 4 month purees and adding my own chunkier meals so she doesn't get too used to just swallowing without gumming it.

I've started to use 7month+ meals and also add chunks to purée which he will eat but if he has finger foods he just chokes and pukes. I've been adding pasta to purree

Iv been giving Ryan penne pasta, give him some whole to play with he's managed to eat a few bits like that n then I mash some up with a fork to feed him, he seems to chew really well! We've got rice cakes, mini bread sticks, biscotti, and I got those carrot stick wotsit things today... Anyone would think it was laced with something! He went mental! X

yea ooscar loves the carrot stick organix things - its like natural corn wotsit isnt it? he loves them- i have a erray of clunk clip storage boxes

all my meals are the consistency of +7 month pouches now for him :)

yes the biscotti biccies are good - they are hard but can break off once being sucked but get pretty mushy and messy :)

The biscotti seem to have a lot of sugar in them for little people. I'm Not really a fan. It's like the sugar content in kids yoghurts is shocking to me

I use baby pasta - only takes 3 minutes in a pan of boiling water and you don't need to cut it up.

Having a varied balenced diet is what is important

Yes they have sugar in - and so do yoghurts - but Oscar has fantastic pure home cooked food - packed full of everything he needs.

Oh I'm not doubting that I'm just sating I don't like them and I'm not a fan of snack foods in general. I give Luke yoghurt but I chose a kind thst had less sugar than the kids kind and add fruit to it

I tried Emma on those Rachel something or other baby yoghurts, but I find they are huge and I don't like giving her the rest 24 hrs later after being unsealed that long. Although I'm not her yoghurt every day. And they cost a fortune!

Just had a sort out of Emma's wardrobe and downstairs wardrobe too. Separated all the summer stuff from what she can still use now it's cooling down. Doesn't leave her much :-/ but did find a few bits still in her wardrobe that will fit now. So think I just need some more tops, hats, socks and jacket / snowsuit.

I hope it's true have missed the sunshine, it's finally out today!!!
