How are all you new mummies doing?

No they said I could! But I would have to drop 8 hours - I wanted to work longer hours those 4 days so I only drop 2!

I'd be 5k out of pocket if I drop the Wednesday so I'm 2k better off a year putting Oscar in nursery?

Did you take into acc your national insurance would drop? & if you're a higher rate tax payer that could drop which would then make you eligible for more vouchers?

I don't earn that much to be a higher rate tax payer hahha!

I'm going on pre tax figures?

So even with tax and NI off - I'm still better off as I won't pay 60 quid a day in deductions?

I've dropped 7 hours. With the annual pay rise, the increase in personal tax allowance, we're better off me dropping 7 hours than the extra day in nursery

I don't get annual payrises

I'm not taking into account personal tax increases because that will cancel out with inflation on the rise consistantly - up goes the economy and subsequently so does food, fuel and general living costs

Do your calculations on hmrc website there's a calc. The in lease in personal tax allowance doesn't cover very much of inflation. We'll just adjust our treats accordingly

I'm so glad I don't have to put like in childcare - we only make 12ka year between us

I haven't even begun to cost up childcare but it will only be 1 day a week as grandparents are doing the other days.

I'm exhausted, having a little nap whole hubby looks after Thomas and then dinner!

I'm hoping they accept my offer I'd working 3 days a week and one lomg say every 1nd weekend. I can oblyk do 8-2 as hubby is out 3:30-10pm

My mum is retiring in 4 years so might go back full time then

I've no idea what I'm going to do with Hayley when I go back to work. No idea what hours my work will make me do, and no idea how much her nursery will be (she was going to the nursery at my ex's work but I don't want her right next to him now!!!)

I've requested to back to my 25 hour contract, so hopefully as I can't work full time. By the time I get home ill never see Hayley awake, and that really just makes me upset at the thought

Well we have 3 estate agents coming Wednesday to value the house ! Hopefully they will all value similar - chosen 3 as will see what they come up with and aim for somewhere in the middle ? We can then decide if we should sell and rent

Hubby had a call about a new job today going bCk out as a windscreen technician - sounds promising and means he won't be lifting heavy stuff ... So we will see about that

I've done so many calulatiors online - pile of crap always comes back with entitled to nothing ?

You literally need to earn a pittance to qualify for anything. I'd never survive on that. We've been spoilt with a 2 good income household so it's a god send grandparents are looking dyer Thomas otherwise half my wage would be going on childcare

Half of mine is

MIL has a better social life than us so can only stretch to 1 day ? Weirdly enough...

Both my parents work - so that's out the question - we would have 2 good salaries if OH didn't loose his old job a few years back :( never mind !

My dad would love to watch Hayley unfortunately as he recently had another seizure I just can't leave her alone with him. His health is just so up and down. My mum works full time, then don't really have any other family that could watch Hayley as everyone else works too.

I'm dreading properly thinking of going back to work, I don't go back til January

I can't believe we're talking about going back to work - our babies are growing up!

We r going to visit harrys nursery tomoz arvo,n he stays in his own weds for an hr n a half! He starts his full day weds 13th Aug it's all cum round so quickly feel like I'm not ready to let go yet!!!!

Bex I meant the one that will tell you how much NI you'd pay. You can work your tax out yourself

I'm really lucky that my parents are retired and hubbies retired on ill health grounds early but are able to baby sit. Not sure what will happen when we have a second!

Kaedin you may well be better off not working now that your not with your OH especially if your forking out for childcare
