How are all you new mummies doing?

Like did the dummy thing early and is good at grabbing but he doesn't roll over yet like some babies do. All babies are different

Yep no rolling here

And he hates tummy time so he's not very good on his front

Babies Arnt textbooks - is what I say a lot of the time :)

Def don't worry, they all do things at their own pace, being sleeping, eating, rolling, walking. They all have their own individual personalities and learn things differently.

In used to worry, particularly with sleep but then Thomas finally went through and I realised I just need to encourage where I can but let him do things as and when he wants to.

He's not really anywhere near rolling yet, was just happy to lay on the floor whereas other babies I know have been rolling for weeks

Just reached an all time low today. Bought a travel cot, set it up with hubby to check everything ok and out it outside to air as it had a funny plastic smell.

There were 4 metal poles with it that came in a plastic bag which I was going to keep. Hubby put it in the bin without me knowing and it got food etc.. On it.

Because I can't bare packing the cot away without everything nearly inside the carry bag I've just fished the plastic bag out of the bin, washed it and dried it!! Seriously it's a plastic bag what am I doing?

joseph has just mastered rolling over in the last couple of weeks. Gets very frustrated though as once he is on his tummy he cant get back x

I've had to bin fish before

^^ yeah I would have too haha!!

Just catching up again - I'll defo be taking a wee b and m trip! My friends made a hamper for me when S was born with some amazing practical things, even for weaning. Have you seen the TT spoons that screw onto the end of the pouches so you just squeeze the food into it. They are quite cool. I love a wee gimmick ;-)

Slimming world is really good, good luck nat! Like toria says, he's prob just not wanting to drive you, knowing how bad you feel about yourself. Give M to someone for the night and go and get drunk to loosen you both up and go with it ;-) we haven't dtd in weeks cos I'm still waiting for my bloody af to come before taking new pill, I'm seriously considering going back teen style and using condoms, the thought freaks me out a bit tho haha.

I also have been putting sunscreen on S and she's been fine. I would rather she got temp dry skin or a rash than sunburn.

Only taken since 6 to get all the kids and me ready, but I'm finally off to the gym! Well, after I do the school run. They offered a free settling in day for Emma in the crèche, so couldn't turn it down.

Hi ladies,
Hope you and your lo's are all well. Just popping over from the May board in hope of some advice. My lo is 7 weeks old on Sunday and exclusively bf. She has been unsettled for a couple of weeks which at first I put down to a growth spurt. Its become obvious last week that she is suffering with trapped wind. She is writhing and crying and doing lots of trumping. Last night was particularly bad and I didn't actually sleep at all, not once! In the end I gave up trying to put her down as she kept waking up crying and I knew she was really tired so wanted her to have some sleep. I tried infacol a week or so ago and gave it over a week and it didn't help and seemed to make her more sick, she is already quite Sicky. I tried gripe water yesterday, again didn't seem to help. She brings up plenty of burps but it seems to be trumps building up that's the problem. I had HV a few days ago before it was as bad and I mentioned reflux as she is also sick a lot, but she dismissed it and said reflux didn't even exist a few yes ago and medicating can start its own problems especially when bf. Lo takes a bottle OK as I sometimes give expresses milk. I wondered if it was latch etc but she doesn't seem less windy after bottles.

Anyway I am out of ideas really except trying colief or going to the doctors. My oh thinks we should not give any more medicine as things haven't worked so far and I should just ride it out.

Sorry that was an essay! Any advice gratefully received : )

Sounds odd but have you thought about your diet? I know when I are certain things (chilli noodles in wagamamas!!) it had an effect on Thomas!

Well I did wonder about that, I have eaten lots of veg last few days and tmi but I have been quite windy too. But then I thought I did give her an expressed milk from a different day and she was still bad after that. But maybe its built up from before. X

My lo gets constipated sometimes and we find rubbing her tummy or pushing her legs in a bicycle motion really get things going! X

Thanks cherry I do that as well and it defo helps get some out but still doesn't rid her of it! Xx

It's expensive but go buy some colief - when your breast feeding - pop a few drops into corner of her mouth or in bottle of expressed - which ever you do :)

Your hv sounds helpful! Reflux us a very real thing (ask Bex!) and her advice sounds useless. Have you tried infacol? Saving grace for us. Also I found like got it more before we switched to size 2 teats (think he was trying too hard to get it put) but your lo is bf so that can't be it. Are you burping? I also found a little water helped our lo (just cooled boiled from a bottle)

If that doesn't help I'd nip to docs.

I have Luke a little banana last night mashed onto formula milk - bot quote sure what to do with a spoon but he got it in the end and loved it and we got 8-8 again :)

Got his jabs today though... Hope it doesn't unsettle him

Oh yes actually collief is good stuff - expensive £11 I think- but worth it if it works

Yea I have tried pretty much everything for reflux

Expressing BM
Changing diet
Infacol
Colief
Gaviscon
Moving to formula
Medications
Paediatric appointments
Allergy formula
Comfort formula
Bottle change

What worked for me was anti reflux milk with dr browns bottles - the type of bottles you use make such a difference - I recommend you start with colief - if that doesn't work - do feel free to PM me... I was at my whits end with reflux

well I have just contacted work to see how many holidays I have left this year as my new holiday year starts the 2nd week in July. I hate having to think about going back and I will try my hardest not to go back before Jan. Just hate the thought of leaving Joseph x

Omg it's just taken me 45 mins to walk 25 mins to the doctors! Got to cross the road and there's huge roadworks with dust everywhere! Couldn't take lo through that so had to go back and take another route which was being tarred too so had to go back again and take another route! Coming back wasn't as long but it's such a pain!! Good job I know he streets so well around here!

Like had his jabs and laughed at the nurse when she put the needle in - twice! He's a strange child

Size 2 teats are def a lot better I think! She's adjusting still to them and has played about this morning but has finished the bottles and no frustration at the bottle so think she just has to get used to them

Hayley still has bad reflux. She's never in any pain but is just sick alot. Some times it's milk she bring up other times it's just clear liquid. But it's always enough to soak through tonnes of bibs a day and soak her clothes too.

I've only tried gaviscon, but the last while I've not bothered to give her it as it only seems to help some time. She has some good days without the gaviscon so I just prefer to not give her it all the time. would be different if she was in pain though
