How are all you new mummies doing?

As soon as this highchair arrives I think I'm going to start having a go with the good just to start to get him interested. He's nearly 5 months and he gulps down calpol and any other syrupy stuff. He's also had a bit of nectarine and seemed to like it!

We're on day 4 of screaming now. Calpol administered, singing and rocking done and he's now conked out on me

Talking of weaning - popped into tesco today and they had loads of the Mam stuff on clearance, we got a sippy cup, 2 snack pots and some of the spoons with covers for out and about for £6 - was well chuffed,
Got the tommee tippee storage pots from B&M yesterday too cos they had them for 99p for a pack of 3! Not that we're anywhere near weaning yet but I love a bargain haha so just putting it away in her cupboard ready x

I got some tesco spoons and storage cups but I wish id waited cos that's a good deal

I love MAM stuff, we've used their bottles and dummies since day 1 so I'm a bit of a brand junkie with them now. The first size sippy cups are just so cute!

I only buy things when they're a bargain if I can help it - such a skinflint I am but love a bargain :)

We got the big set or bottles including the soft nipple for when Luke is a little older and love hem - the dummies are great and we have the glow in the dark ones doe night time :)

We also have their teething ring thing love them

Managed to get it all in pink too!

Ooh I haven't got a glow in the dark dummy!! I want one! I think mam stuff is fab, so easy to take out and not worry about if I need another bottle, can just sterilise it on the go. We picked them with that as a huge selling point so I don't have to take a proper steriliser on holiday with us but I love them! Nice looking bottles too haha, not that that's important to her!

I don't know when to move onto the no.2 teats though?

We moved onto size 2 at 2 months and about to go into size 3 at 4 months

I love the mam website because you can buy bottles with any suez teat - my mum us wanting some bottles to keep at hers and I can buy them with size 3 teats instead of having to buy teats and bottles. Also mam do tears in packs of 6 :)

Love their little forks and knives too

Maybe she is ready for the size 2 then. I only thought of it because I noticed yesterday and today it's like she's fighting the bottle and getting lazy with it and frustrated so wondering if it's not quick enough for her now? Will try a size 2 tonight then and see if that makes a difference x

Macie got a little rash on her face her cheeks are really red but not hot to touch she's still drinking plenty and seems ok do u think I shoukd worry? Xxxx

what do u ladies think? I looked on Internet n it said it could be a heat rash? Xxx

Maddie's had that when she's been asleep in her car seat and sweated before, my mums next door neighbour is a nurse and she said it was just from the sweat x

Thanks Sophie that's what I'm thinking as I've been careful to cover her up in the sun but it has been hot my worst nightmare is her getting sunburn with u not being able to put cream on them yet!xxx

I've just got some baby suncream for when we go to cornwall and he's in his carrier!

I'd rather pop abit of cream on Oscar than him get sunburn

It does look like a heat rash to me :)

I have got some sunscreen for her but on my pram it's got one of them nets u pull all way over the pushchair so normally use that she might be ok with sunscreen tho cus I've always used johnsons products shock!

And her skin been lovely! Why do they say 6 months? Is it another over cautious thing? What did people do when they put there babies in there prams outside all day? ! X

We just keep him in the shade and put a hat on - I'm not sure why you can't use it - I mean what do people in hot countries do??

It's something to do with the pores in their skin being blocked or getting blocked? Can't remember exactly but it's something along those lines

I need to get one of those uv shades for the buggy for holiday!

You can use it, I don't understand why people don't think you can? Most say recommended 6 months plus but I checked with HV & she said it's fine. Besides I bought the baby banana boat & it has no age recommendations on the label.

I did notice after using suncream it did dry Stanley's skin out a bit I'm guna try that banana boat one..

Stanley's bathed and in bed and I also managed to get 7oz into him he's eating has got better the last two days :)
