Hey ladies...well as some of you may know I was very overweight just before I got pregnant and DH was also diagnosed with Diabetes the week before I got pregnant so we decided to eventually have a major change of lifestyle.....

So throughout my pregnancy I lost weight right the way through and when they weighed me at 36 weeks I had only gained 5lbs which I then lost by the time I was 38 weeks and was induced and had Matilda...so a pregnancy with no weight gain this time which was fine as I was monitored weekly by the consultants and they were happy with this.
I did however get gestational diabetes at 17 weeks and ended up on insulin! I have my GTT in may to see if the diabetes has gone for good so fingers crossed!

Anyway since I got pregnant in June and had matilda on March 9th, up to date Ive now lost 3st 1lb and having bought some new clothes yesterday I have dropped 3 dress sizes....

Feeling great for being 3st lighter, feel healthier and its great that people are noticing how much Ive lost and telling me so thats also an incentive and a boost!

I am still overweight and have a long way to go but as we have changed our lifestyle rather than look at is as a diet its really easy!

DH and DD are also loving our change of lifestyle and hopefully this will be out life as we know it now!

So just thought Id share my story and say its possible to do it simply through a lifestyle change rather than feeling deprived and looking upon it as a diet...

Good luck to all who are carrying on loosing baby weight but what an amazing way to be gaining ehh xxx

That's brilliant!!!! My BMI when I saw my midwife was 32.............(I had lost 2 stone prior to this) I am scared of losing weight whilst pregnant as my last baby was an unstable lie even though she was 8 and a half pounds, a friend of mine lost weight during pregnancy and her baby was smaller than her previous and consequently was an unstable lie too. I can't wait for baby to be here so I can get myself back on track to losing weight and getting healthier. Especially as I have put on a lot of weight already as I've been craving cheese!!
You're doing great and are an inspiration. x

Thanks Yorksmummy....I was also worried about loosing weight whilst pregnant but my consultant and MW all assured me it was fine as I had more than enough weight to make sure the baby would come to no harm....

My BMI was 42 when I got pregnant...not sure what it is now will have to get it checked at my 6 week check up ;-) but yes its been great and being so easy makes it easy to carry on with the lifestyle as opposed to veiwing it as a diet.

Like I said its an amazing way to have gained weight so dont worry too much about gaining your baby weight theres plenty time to shift it when your little miracle comes along xx

You've done so well, congratulations!

I'm hoping we'll be able to follow suit actually. My BMI was 30 at weighing in appointment, I put on 10kg by 33 weeks but got diagnosed with GD so have had to alter diet quite significantly - lost 1kg by 34 weeks and next appointment this week coming, which will be 36 weeks, I imagine I'll have either lost or stayed the same. I would like to carry it on after baby is born rather than slipping back into being a chocolate monster and plan to cook proper meals for me and DH as he has put on at least as much weight as I have so far during the pregnancy for some reason! I will watch your progress for inspiration :)
