hey all,
Have finally managed to get online for a short while - the hospital have actually let me out for a few hours on day release and I'm at a friends house!
Just thought I'd give you a quick update and thank you personally for all your support and kind messages.
Well I had my scan and unfortunately the placenta problem isn't getting any better - in fact it's got worse So they say I need to stay in until the baby is born (with a few hours day release here and there if I am not bleeding). Basically because I am bleeding that is a sign that as my uterus is stetching, my placenta is tearing and giving way because it is not in the right place. The consultant said I am most at risk now between 28 & 34 weeks as this is when the uterus stretches the most - so at any point my placenta could just rupture completely and basicaally drop out - resulting in an emergency situation for me due to blood loss and emergency c section for my baby. So that's why I have to be in hospital - in case the worst happens I will need action within minutes. The best case scenario is that placenta manages to hold out and I will have a planned c section at 37 weeks. There is no chance of me having a natural delivery now or going up to 40 weeks.
On the plus side, baby is fine and is not too small as was previously suggested - which is a relief as now I know he is going to come early I want to fatten him up as much as possible! oh yes, and as a dedicated member of team yellow - when all this happened and I found out I have no chance of a normal birth and have a possible life threatening emergency situation on my hands, I decided to find out the sex...and I'm having a boy!! Another one for team blue!
So it's all very scary and upsetting really - as you know I was never organised and prepared and now I am facing a delivery at any time between now and 37 weeks and I'm stuck in hospital! My friend is taking me out tomorrow and I am going to do all my baby shopping in one go so at least I will have the basics for when my little man arrives.
All I can do is hope for the best that I can last out for a planned c section later on, the thought of an emergency c section and premature baby really scares me, and because I am bleeding there is a real chance that that could happen....but I pray not.
Will check in whenever I can...all the best to you all xxxxx
PS - oh yes I really should be in tri 3 now but never did make the move over so will stay with my friends here for now
