From miscarriages to miracle - James Michael. Our sticky bean born on Daddy's B'day

Just had James weighed and he is 13lb 2oz so he's not even gained a lb in 3 weeks? He's dropped to 9th centile again. They aren't overly concerned but have asked that we go back on 2 weeks (as opposed to a month) to check.

I think it's because he is a wriggly little boy, he must burn so many calories - he even wriggles in his sleep LOL!!

Yay James for rolling! Bless him. Ollie will out grow him soon, the chunk of mine, he's like mini Phil Mitchell I swear!

James' little cousin (born 7th Dec) is a lb heavier than him!

James is so long though - 67cm - I measured him earlier (he was grabbing at my tape measure though so this is an estimate LOL!)

He is long and slender like his Daddy!

Wow he is tall! Ollie is long, but a chunk at the same time! He weighs over 13lb and was born dec 20th. Dave reckons rugby player in the making :)

Hey hon, does James eat a lot? I've been a bit concerned that Harry hasn't been eating so much - we will get him weighed on Tues so will see if I'm right... If they're not worried then I'm sure it's fine anyway. Like you say, probably just a wiggler! They all develop at different rates. Do you know I've never thought to measure Harry's height! Gonna do that now :) xxx

Let me know how you get on with the tape measure  James kept grabbing it!

James is an excellent feeder and he always has been, I know what he has taken every feed since he was 3 days old (when I started expressing) and I log every feed, I know you can't do that with BF'ing though

James has 33-36oz a day. He is so long though, I only put him in his 3-6 months a week ago and he is going to need to go up a size soon? Or else I need footless baby-grows. He is so tall and skinny!

67cm! Go James! We tried to measure Madison with a tape measure and I got 63cm so not very tall I don't think?
Getting her weighed Monday so will ask for her to be measured too.
Oh and me aren't exactly tall so I don't think M is going to be.
x

I'm 5ft 1in and OH is 5ft 11in so who knows!

M&S has weight AND height in the labels and reckons 3-6 months is up to 69cm

xxxxxx

Wow James you are tall, and as for his weight he's catching up with Jacob. We have to go every 4 weeks for Jacobs head to be measured as he is on the 91st centile, his weight at the last measurement was 14lbs (25th centile) and his height was 59cm (I think) which is below the 0.4 centile line  - going again on Tuesday so we'll see if its changed any.

James has only had his head measured at birth and at his 8 week check up. He is on 50th centile for head (hence his nickname "big bean head")

He only had his height measured at birth?? The other measurements I have taken so I need to plot them myself to see what centile he is in for that.

I think I need to double check his height LOL as it is off the chart

He can't have grown 10cm in a month?????

Well OH has taken James to his parents, so for the second time this week I am baby-less. They've been gone for a few hours and I just rang to make sure bub has his feed and that they come home soon.

They are only literally a 60 second walk away but I am so antsy now. It's amazing how you can physically miss someone.

xxxxxxx

Aww I know what you mean hun

SIL's took Aaron out for a walk yesterday to let me have a nap. They weren't back when I woke up and I then paced the house for another hour and eventually caved and phoned them to ask them to bring him home!

Can you not get James measured when you get him weighed?

I want to try and measure Aaron, because all of a sudden his trousers are half mast. I got him measured last week, so can't really ask again :wall2:

Is it procedure that they measure babies when they are born? Off question I know but I'm filling out a baby record book for jackson and I don't have it in my notes ? And I don't want it to be blank.

He was measured 3 weeks ago he was 57cm! He's a tall boy - I'm finding when he stretches his legs his baby grows are tight but not when he's just normally sitting or lying but the 3-6 will be far too baggy on him as he has a skinny frame!

He's definately like his dad, 8 years later and I still can't always get clothes that fit his oddly long skinny body hahaha xxxxx

I took James to his first baby group today. It was a sing along group!

I went with my friend and her 3 year old and 15 month old.

James was by far the youngest there (it was mainly toddlers, James was the only non walking baby) but he loved it. I thought he would as he really enjoyed all the singing in church when we went to a christening recently.

He was boggle eyed and very alert and watched the entertainer guy the whole time.

I think next week we'll go to a more low key (and free!!) sing along thing but this was nice for a treat.

Afterwards I had a coffee and fed James in the park, it's not sunny today but still warm.

James has changed so much in the past few days, he doesn't fall straight asleep in his pram anymore [that was a sure thing] he likes to have a nosy.. He is also showing signs of teething and is fascinated with watching us eat. These are all such little things but when you are a Mummy they are they highlight of your day / week. He is so reactive to me now, I actually know how to make him laugh and it makes me burst with pride... I can also comfort him and he likes to nap on me in the afternoon.

James is also now so long - 67cm and already filling his 3-6 month clothes. He is so slender though as he only weighs just over 13lbs.

He is currently sleeping so I am having a cuppa and going to watch a few episodes of "Two and a half men" - my current new fave TV programme!

I can't wait to start some mummy & baby groups, I was told they'd contact me but so far I've heard nothing.

Ooooo I have recently been watching 2 & half men too!

It's so nice seeing all the changes in them, Ava smiles daily now & I love it, it makes me laugh.

Xx

I enjoy going to an under 1s group every week - it's also a singalong - Harry enjoys it too :) Sounds like you had a lovely day today anyway :)

I know what you mean - Harry has changed so much this week and it's wonderful - laughing and chatting away so much :)

James is about the same weight as Harry too - I still haven't got around to measuring harry's height. Will do it soon!

Enjoy your me time hon - I haven't watchind 2 1/2 men for a while since Charlie Sheen left. maybe I should give it a go, but there doesn't seem enough time to watch tv these days!! xxx

Smiles are the best Amber!

RM, yep I thought it was standard to measure them at birth?

xxxxxxxx

None of my friends babies including Jacob were measured for length at birth, I checked Jacob as best I could in his incubator and he was a mini 44cm bless him. They told me its not important to until he starts having all his measurements, now it's done every 4 weeks x x
