Hi ladies, I'm new to all this forum malarky :) and fairly new to the world of fertility issues. It's such a personal thing... I'm a bit apprehensive writing about it here but I'm feeling kind of alone and reading through some of your threads you all seem so supportive of each other.
My hubby has low sperm count (due to undecended testes as a child) and I have incredibly irregular periods and poly cystic ovaries. We've been TTC for 2 years and recently been referred to fertility clinic to have ICSI. We have an appointment in June to see consultant. Some of you have been through ICSI haven't you? Do you have any nuggets of wisdom that I should be mindful of...?
it's all a bit emotional and bewildering really isn't it!?

Hi, welcome to PF!

It's massively emotional on the TTC journey but even more so when there's problems. I hope you'll find the help and support here that you're after. :hugs:

I don't know anything about ICSI so I can't really help but just wanted to say hello and welcome. :)

x x

Hi I'm the same as you! Low sperm, PCO and irregular cycles, been TTC for 2 years!

We just had our first round of ICSI. Sadly it wasn't successful but there's a lot of chance in it still so we're waiting to start a frozen embryo transfer in about 6 weeks.

Ask away, happy to answer any questions you may have. Good luck!

Welcome to the forum hon. My hubby and I are starting IVF soon and there are loads of girls who can advise and support. Good luck! Xxxx

Thank you! strangely happy and tearful feeling when I read your post -- it's nice to be in contact with someone who has a real understanding of what all this feels like!? The nurse I saw yesterday said they would have to be really careful with the hormones they give me because of the PCO. Spent lots of last night doing google research into it all -- what would we do without search engines! Whilst it is amazing how much we can be helped by all the fertility technology out there, it's full of unanticipated hurdles?! I'm trying to balance being positive with realistic!?
Sorry to hear your first round wasn't a success... Nice that your next round should be less invasive as far as all the medication goes; hopefully just what you need to be bumptastic in the summer/autumn! x

Hiya and welcome

Lots of ICSI experience here and it's a hard road to have to take, but trust that everything will work out for you and it definitely will xx

It is hard with PCO. I had a lot of swelling and discomfort during cycle which was bad. However it was due to the strong response and I got plenty of eggies so it goes both ways.

It's an up and down process but not as bad as I expected.

hello and welcome every one is really nice around here xxxxxxxxxxx

Just wanted to say hi and welcome. Everyone's so helpful! x
