For what it's worth the Eastern European people who are here have every right to work here. "All" the jobs are clearly not taken because if they were then they wouldn't find work in the first place.
I'm also glad that the BNP are not in power because my OH would also be fooked too Sarah

According to the published list a BNP member lives here. I can assure you that if anything happens to my home the 'scum' that does it will very much regret it.
I think a lot of beliefs are rubbish (most beliefs in fact!) but just because I dont agree with them, and never will doesn't make them scum it just makes them different to me.
You have just called my daughter's grandfather 'scum' which I find really offensive (I dont think I need to justify that!).(You called her father scum too but he fits the bill quite well 99% of the time...)

I'm sorry for your husband's situation, Mary, but the truth is that the building trade, unfortunately, is affected regardless of migration- it's recession that's the problem. Construction is always the first to go, but it'll always pick up again 
two of my friends have been laid off recently too, and my uncle,it sucks.
I think,when dealing with economic migrants ( I'm not going to touch on refugees etc becasue I doubt anyone has a problem with defenceless men women and children escaping their war torn countries)
Anyway, economic migrants- think carefully. How much criticism directed at them is fair? Very little. They do mainly crap jobs no one else will, such as working in chicken farms. When they do do something wrong, they don't do it because they are Polish/Lithuanian etc, they do it because some people are nice, some aren't,regardless of race.
I've been very disappointed to see the extent of narrowness,gullibility, and yes,racism, amongst some people on this forum. You seem to forget that this country was founded on the backs of slaves,colonialisation,genocide and butchery
There's no point trying to argue against it because it is true. The British empire owned 3/4 of the known world at one point, treating the native inhabitants as less than scum. yet we seem to have learned no lessons, as still we begrudge those less fortunate than ourselves the benefits of this country which their ancestors broke their backs to create.

The reason a lot of immigrants have jobs is because UK employers exploit them and pay them below average wage.
Employers target them because they know they will work for next to nothing.
Now if they were not here then I very much doubt that these employees would get away with it as people would be telling to get stuffed.

I fail to understand what him being part of your or indeed anyone's family would make any difference to voicing an opinion on him being a member of the BNP. There's noone on this list who won't have family of some sort, how does this make any difference?

The fact is the vast majority of Eastern Europeans have as much right to work here as any of us, citzens born in EU member states have the right to live and work in most other member states. We should be up in arms that people in our country are being taken advantage of and are workng in horrendous conditions for a pitance. Banging out the old these people take our jobs line is just lame and generally isnt true.
