Cost of FET

Hi ladies! Its been a while since i visited this group and i wish you all good luck!

I was lucky enough to get pregnant via IVF after years of trying. Now we are trying again and seems like it might be difficult. I had IVF through NHS last time but would have to pay if i do it again. We have 4-5 frozen embryos i could use so was wondering if anyone knows the cost more or less for a FET? It should be cheaper then IVF right?

My DH doesnt want to do ivf and only have another if it happens naturally but since i am 39 i am only checking my options in case he changes his mind

Hi Maria,

Does the clinic you used before have a price list online? Mine does so I had a wee look for you. They've listed their FET prices as £675 for a natural cycle and between £825-1100 for a medicated cycle.

Although I'm still pregnant with this little one we've discussed another and if we decide to try again we've agreed to 6 months naturally. If nothing happens then we'll try a natural FET with one of our frozen babies!

Most clinics list prices ( haven't got a specific clinic at the moment ) but I don't know if there are any "hidden costs" For example my friend did ivf where it said on website the cost would be around 7-8k but they ended up paying around 25k!!!

I don't think DH will change his mind though but want to know just in case

Oh my god that's a scary amount!! Well my clinics listed price for IVF is exactly what we paid so I'd be inclined to trust them. Not to say other clinics are the same though!

Could you ring the clinic or hospital you went through first time to ask? I'd be happy to try again naturally for the first while but as time went on I'd hate to become the stress head I did, I think that's why we've agreed we'd pay that. £600 odd is so much better than the cost of full ivf xx

Our NHS a clinic listed amount is between £100 and £1500 depending on meds I think. Good luck!

Ours is around £900 plus meds. Maybe I should shop around?!

thanks for your replies! That sounds a lot cheaper and not anywhere near the 25k amount!!

However, seems like it wont be something we will do. DH has "put his foot down" and wont do any more ivf. He is willing try naturally but doubt it will happen. Anyhow, have started doing some tests to see if everything looks ok and take it from there.

How are things with you phonixgirl? Was a while ago I was active so just catching up!

I'm ok thanks hun. I hate it when they're like that - and it worked for you! My DH keeps saying no more as well but he's got a point lol... Trying letrozole at the moment as we only have 2 embryos left. DH wants to do surrogacy but they've said not to jump into that xx
