chat thread

Oh Rach you are so lovely - I'm still here but not got much going on - well apart from kitting Josh out for Uni and trying to get some money behind me so I can take things a bit easier later on in the year.... I usually love being self employed but worrying about who will run the company whilst I take time out with the baby seems to be the thing keeping me awake in the wee small hours at the moment :wall:

Lea I think you were brave even to think about going swimming - just the thought fills me with dread :D  about the car - hopefully mine is going to be fixed tomorrow - I hate being without one and its been a couple of weeks now!!

Bexie I love Welsh names - trying to convince my DH about Megan at the moment - I have always loved it but Josh has been going out with a lovely girl called Megan for the past 12 months so I thought it would be a no no - anyway they have split up with them both going to different uni's so now I've put it in the frame :D

 to everyone else.

Jane x

Thanks for the hugs ladies!!
Day just got better! We need a new clutch on the car! :| Now I wouldnt mind so much but we had a new one put on less than 1000 miles ago!? Im tired of that car! DO NOT BUY A FIAT PUNTO!!!! lol

Hello! I''m still here too. Just not been posting so much lately.
Lea!! 3rd tri! Blimey...

I am fine. Found the return to work a bit of a shock to the system, have been stupidly tired. But I have been swimming twice this week after work. The first time it nearly killed me but today I feel quite good after it!!
Feeling lots of movements in the bump now too, although it has quiet days still.. had my midwife appt yesterday and everything seems fine.

Hope everyone is ok???

lea sorry about the car hun oh my word you are having a bad one today :(   xxxxxxxxx

rom good to see you hun  glad all is ok hope you get things sorted with work soon  you should not be worrying   xxxxxxxx

kmac good to see you too hun  and nice to hear your having lots of movements and that your midwife appointment went well :D make sure you get plenty of rest    xxxxxxxxxxx

Hi everyone

theres too much here to catch up on!!!

lea - sorry about the car :( more expense when its not needed I can imagine..... cars are a pain in the.. :moon:
great on 3rd tri tho...... get that chat thread up and running for when we all get there!! :cheer:

kmac - good to see you! hope you are ok, and like rach said, get plenty of rest!

bexie - ouch!! that must hurt! oh and dont worry, we have had no summer up here at all!!! been like a whole year in winter!

no much happening to me really, still not felt baby kick yet, although I realise I'm still a bit early for that....also still awaiting results of downs/spina bif bloods to come back.

Hope everyone is ok,....anyone heard from mel&bean recently!?
xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

LisaS Good luck with the results and feeling babs move soon!! :cheer: :cheer:

Babydust Im the same! For some freaky reason I wake up each night between 3-4 (well I do this anyways but normally go straight back to sleep) and I cant sleep for ages! Takes me ages to get to sleep when I first get in bed too but then Im knackered in the morning! :(
I think a star chart is an excellent idea hun!!  I hope it works! For your sake and your dd's!

I see my MW tomorrow! Cant wait! have a list of things to ask her! Ooh I think i will go put my pee pot on the back of the toilet upstairs in a min so i dont forget in the morning heehee

I started a chat thread in tri 3 so when your ready ladies it will be waiting for you!! :D :cheer: :cheer: :cheer: :cheer:

lisa hope your results come back soon hun  xxx

babydust sorry your daughter still not settling in school hun  the chart sounds like a good idea :D and hun if you ask my family i moan for britain lol :rotfl: xxx

well everything seems ok here think i have carpal tunnel in my wrists :( i had it on christopher in the last few weeks of pregnancy i assume its coming earlier this time as im having twins its waking me up all night with pins and needles in my hands and fingers :( its awful got midwife 2moro so will ask her about it but im sure last time the symptoms were same (might start another thread to see if anyone else has it) lots of movements off babies but cant tell 1 from the other yet which worries me how am i supposed to know if they are both moving or not????????? wish i had another scan soon im starting to really get panicky now and next 1 is not till the 18th september :(
off to work today and then i will be in single figures :cheer: i have 10 shifts left including today :D :cheer:  :cheer: it will be so nice to not have to go to work :D
just about finished lukes uniform got to get pencil case and trousers today and hes sorted ready for school next week :D xxx

mel where are you hun????????

hope everyone else is ok and lea hope your feeling better today hun  xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Claire what a great idea - I am sure it will help to settle DD  I know it wont seem like it now but it will get easier I am sure and I bet your second daughter will be totally different (hmmmm not if she thinks she may get a box of toys to pick from though :D ). When do you meet with the school? Are they helping? I know with Josh his first teacher was lovely she would try and engage him as soon as I dropped him off, he helped her set up the classroom for the day and stuff.

Rach I just cant imagine carrying two!! I am finding it difficult to sleep already and I'm just cooking the one in there :D and ouch for the Carpal tunnel my mum had it a couple of years ago in both hands and ended up having an operation. Do you get extra maternity leave for twins?

I cannot see me being able to take much time off at all - I will probably give up my office in town and work from home from November time onwards but I will still have to work just not have to worry about time so much...... I have tried to explain to Dave how exhausting a new born is but he of course thinks ours is going to be an angel!! He had a dream the other night that it was born walking and talking and generally taking care of itself!! :wall: Think it stems from the fact he only came into Josh and Han's life when they were 6 and 9 so bypassed the helpless stage......

Lea 3rd Tri seems so scary - people give birth in there!!!

By the way have any of you ex chartstalkers noticed Anna23's post in first tri?

Morning ladies,

Wow you were all active last night on here, I'm good for nothing once I've put Phoebe to bed, it's time for me to crash on the sofa watching Coronation Street if it's on, normally start falling asleep at about 9ish, and have OH gentally nudging me saying Becks, Becks go to bed, with me responding with, no I'm ok, I'm still watching the telly, 5 mins later a repeat conversation, when we get to the conversation for the third time I normally realise I should be going up to bed!!

Rach - sorry to hear about your carpel tunnel syndrome, my mum suffers with it and has just been down to Carmarthen for an op to try and ease it, poor you. Glad you've got the school uniform sorted.

ROM - Megan is a nice name, you'll have to work on your husband and your son with that one.

Lea - Hope you've started that thread in tri 3, might be temped to gatecrash every now and then, just over 4 weeks until I can officially join you. Sorry to hear about your crap day. Hope today is better.

Lisaspoon - you'll start to feel your little one soon, I didn't feel this one kick until a couple of weeks ago, and still don't feel it kick all the time.

Kmac - Good on you for all the swimming your doing, I tried it with my last pregnancy but just found I couldn't walk after, so gave up, it's obviously doing you good.

Babydust - My next midwife appointment is next Fri, so I'll be a day before 24 weeks, can't wait to hear the babies heartbeat again. The reward chard your doing sounds like a really good idea. Hope you manage to get a goods nights sleep soon. When i was carrying Phoebe I had Acupuncture as she was breech, in the vain hope it might help her to turn, it didn't, but I have to say that night I have never slept as well as I did then, I woke up in the same position I fell asleep in. I know how uncomforatble it is sleeping when your pregnant, I'm normally a fairly good sleeper, but when I'm pregnant I'm waking all the time.

Hope you all have a good day.

Becks x

My doctor actually reccommended drinking lucozade in pregnancy as it helps ease the sickness.

Glad your daughter had a better start to her day at school today. :)

Yep Lucozade is a god send!! :cheer: lol
Right lots to catch up on ;)

Rach sorry on the Carpal tunnel syndrome! :( I had that in just the last couple of weeks when I was having Joseph! I sometimes still get the odd tingling  I have no idea why though! (well I mean when Im not pregnant lol)

ROM I hope OH gets rid of his delusions lol! A baby born walking, talking and feeding itself?! YAY haha jk!
Tri 3 isnt so scary!

Bexie Im glad you got some well deserved sleep!! :cheer:

BD Yay for you DD only crying for a second and not at school!! That is fantastic! :cheer: :cheer: :cheer:

Im off to the midwife later! :cheer: But right now I cant breathe at all!? I have had my inhaler 4 times already!? Is that bad?! Should I not do that?!

rom no hun dont get any more maternity leave lol i wish we did :( i think you should get maybe an extra 3 months but nope nothing but its not too bad im taking 4 weeks hols before and 4 weeks hols after so altogether i will get about 11 months off and can take an extra 3 months unpaid if i want to am hoping to save some money by then to take at least an extra month off unpaid  but we will see :D o/h has sorted his paternity leave off he gets 2 weeks but its only at 117 pound per week :( so we will have to try and put some money away to cover what he will lose :( then hes hoping to add at least 1 weeks hols to the end of it which will give him 3 weeks off in total which we will really need due to me having a section :(
dave is going to have a big shock lol sorry you wont be able to take much time off at least working from home you wont have to leave the baby  xxx

babydust at least your daughter is getting a little help to settle in  glad she is having a better day today :D xxx

bexie im the same in the evening hun i just cant keep my eyes open and cant make o/h understand why :( im up at 6:30-7 every morning with christopher so by 9pm im on my knees :( and very rarely get chance for a nap in the day xxx

lea hope all goes well at the midwife :D im using my inhaler a lot in the last week or so ive gone from hardly using it at all to using it 4-6 times a day i think its just where the babies are taking so much room now there is less room for my lungs lol but i would tell your midwife about it in case  xxx

right im off to work have a good one everyone and take care  xxxxxxxxxxxx

Rach so its ok to use the inhaler?! Thank goodness I was worried about that! I have never needed one before so had no clue!! :D
I asked the MW and she asked me to make an app with the doc to see if she can help! :(

Yay on 24 weeks Chok!! :cheer: :cheer: Im going to go look in Ask mum now!

LisaS I feel sick! I just ate a curry which I dont normally like at all (home made not shop bought) but feel so full and sick! lol

Ohh Rach I was looking to buy an all in one yesterday so will go look on mothercare website or pop in store tomorrow and see if I can get one cheap!! :cheer: :cheer: Thanks hun!!

lea it was from woolworths hun not mothercare lol my doctor told me it was fine to use my inhaler as normal hun but if you dont usually use it or are using much more than the daily dose then you shoud check in with your doctor in case theres an alternative you could use  how did your appointment go? xxx

babydust my heamatologist gave me mine you can buy them in boots but see your doctor as they are expensive and you could get them on prescription sorry your spd is bad  mine was really bad last night :( i tried to turn over in the night and ended up crying with the pain in my pelvis  and its not been so bad lately so i dont know why all of a sudden it was worse :( xxx
