sounds like it is labour to me... the pains you describe are exactly like mine at the start... my waters broke first though so i knew what it was. i didnt hve a show until i was in established labour...

thanks I have found the pain a bit confusing as it's not coming so much in waves, it's just a constant ache in my back and lower abdomen. It's hard to time when it just hurts all the time

With James my labour started with period pains, then contractions. Didn't get a show until after 6 hours of contractions. I had my waters broken by the midwife when I was fully dilated
