***UPDATE***

I am in labour, at the inlaws at the moment cos its nearer to maternity unit, and they're looking after james.

I went to mat unit this morning and they checked blood pressure, baby heartbeat, position etc. logan was 4/5 engaged and contractions had tailed off. I had keytones in my wee so they suggested i go to local cafe and get some lunch, and then go for walk to try and get contractions started.

So we had lunch, took James to the park. Had more contractions. Then inlaws joined us and we went for walk by the river, ended up taking wrong turn and ended up in field full of cow poo. Got stuck ontop of a broken stile, my legs pinned in a gorsebush, having a contraction! Not nice!

Went back to mat unit 3 and half hours later, they gave me an internal, I was 3-5cm dilated, still not contracting regularly. Apparantly the midwife could feel some contractions but I wasn't.
They gave me sweep and I hang around for an hour or so. Still not many contractions, so they said go to MIL's for tea as its closer to mat unit than my house.
Got tens on now and had several contractions whilst here. 3 whilst typing this! Managing ok with pain so far.

Got to go back to mat unit in a bit for check up. Depending on rate of contractions I will either be sent home to rest, or kept in and they'll get pool ready.

James staying with inlaws in case anything happens. Hopefully logan wont keep us waiting too much longer!

*********************************************************

I had bad period type pains before I went to bed last night (took me ages to get to sleep), and I had several pains through the night too which semi woke me up.

I was woken up by a contraction type pain this morning and have had a few since.
They're not very bad or very regular yet so they still might be bad BH's. They also don't last very long and it's hard to pinpoint exactly when they start and end so it's probably another false alarm.

Have sent OH to work and will try and carry on as normal, and see if they become more painful/regular.

It's annoying having all these false alarms, James never gave me this trouble!

ooo goodluck hun
ive woken up after a crappy sleep with really bad period type pains/cramps and loads of pressure in my bum much like being sat on something
oh and cronic backache
knowing my luck ive just slept funny though :)

That sounds like it could be the start of something Manda! It's so hard to tell though. I had that a few days ago and it just went away again after a few hours. I hope it is happening for you

I'm still thinking mine is a practise run as although it hurts it's not really painful at this point, and the contractions are still not very long or regular.
Gonna aim to take James to school as usual and see what happens.

Last time with james I just started getting contractions and there was no doubt it was the real thing, non of this is it, isn't it rubbish :wall:

aww hun im not getting my hopes up this time
2 weeks ago i had strong contractions for an hour and im still sat here haha
would be just my luck though as my dad is visiting today and i have a curry to cook :)
i hope your pains get worse for you hun you should be first to pop :)

Good luck ladies! I hope you are both in the throws of pain soon!lol :cheer:  :rotfl:

OMG! Just lost a bit of plug. It was a clear white jelly blob tinged with pinky brown. Remember it from last time (though last time it took 6 hours of contractions to shift it!)

Off for a shower :D

ooooooh

come on Logan, out you come for mummy lol, pleeease

how you feeling now mm.

:cheer: :cheer: :cheer:

Is James' school not affected by the NUT strike? my younger brother is off so I'm on babysitting duty today

I think it's only England and wales that are on strike.

Back from my shower, have had a few more pains and got constant backche.
Need to start timing the pains again, and if they have a definate pattern call the midwife.

Think I'll forget about taking James to school for now, not sure I could make the walk there and back right now!

omg mm i go on the ball for a quick bounce and it kicks off for you :D
come on logan once you have popped i can :)
manda xx

Thanks Keeley. Already got the contraction master running. It's been saved in my favourites for months

They seem to be getting further apart now. Maybe they were just for the purpose of shifting that bit of plug and now thats gone they're going away :(
Still got bad backache, and now James isn't at school :wall: :wall: :wall:

Not sure what to do now James wise

i would keep him off school just incase
you dont want to have to worry about making sure some-one can pick him up if baby does come soon
manda xx

I agree with Manda, my mum kept me off even though I was 15 when she had my brother lol.
The teachers will understand why he's off anyway, ask him to draw a picture or make a card for the baby for when he arrives, be something a little fun to do, and make sure your not rushing around like a mad woman

Hope contractions come closer again soon.
x

I might phone the school in a bit and explain whats happening and say I might bring him in later if nothing else happens.

And whilst writing that I had a contraction, 19 mins since the last, lasting 49 secs....need to keep timing them

Have phoned the school to say he won't be in. Still think it might be a false alarm as the contractions are irregular and seem to be affected by movement, get more of them when I'm moving around.
Still hurts though and I feel sick!

still sounds hopefull though hun
ive got everything crossed here for you
