****** April Mummies!!!! ******

Hubby just came in from the pub and was impressed with the job iv done in the back bedroom. Got a lot tidied and squared up so now its just as soon as the workmen can get in. Im actually so excited!
Xx

I am planning my nursery :) I already have all the furniture and it is basically good to go but since we are team blue and this will be his room from now on we are going to boy it up as it was all neutral when my daughter was in there before moving into the bigger room earlier this year when I did it all up for her

Hubby is in Hong Kong next week for work so will probably start the paint picking mid Jan then I'll need to get all the baby bits from the loft for washing & selling of anything pink to make way for the blue :D

Oh my I just realised over the next few weeks we will all be moving to TRI 3 arrrgghh so excited xx

Eek I know, it suddenly seems to be going quite fast!!! I don't feel anywhere near ready - Dont have a clue how to look after a baby!!! Xxx

Glad I'm not the only one Naomi!

Not at all Nicky! I got some books for Christmas which included what to do with a newborn, needless to say I will be swatting up!

I've also been watching how to videos on breastfeeding, bathing and changing nappies, I'm totally clueless lol! Xx

We can learn together! Have you booked any antenatal classes yet? I'm hoping to learn a bit there? X

Morning all
Its a proper wet miserable day here. Lucky for me im spending the day in the house and my sister is coming up to look at wedding venues for her! Going out with a friend tonight for a coffee but got the whole day to relax. Iv just loaded the car with the first round of rubbish for the tip which il take tomorrow! Really got the nesting bug.

I am phoning to book into the antenatal classes when im 26 weeks.
Xx

It's blowing a hooey here Lynne, wheelie bins are all over!
I think nesting is catching, I'm reorganising our bedroom and already done a full house clean. Probably just trying to put off marking a load of books!
I feel a bit crappy as we've decided not to go to any antenatal classes, only because friends and family haven't been particularly positive about them. Good friends that have 2 children said everything they learnt went out the window when the time came. I guess we'll just be winging it, which is kind of us all over as a couple. Xx

Was horrid here this morning but the sun is now coming out :)
Hubby didn't put the wheelie bin all the out yesterday so the bin men didn't empty it this morning :( Going to have to take a couple of bags to the tip by the end of the week I think now

Been round the shops getting a few bits for hubby's business trip to Hong Kong on Saturday. Just need to iron & pack for him. I'm not back to work till Monday but he's back Thursday so I can at least get my house unchristmas'd and nice and tidy before he goes. Lo is having a sleepover at Grandads on the Monday as he has her on a Monday & Tuesday anyway when I'm at work so a nice relaxing evening just me & the dogs & cat is planned

I've just ordered a book from amazon on the first year which I'm hoping will shed some light!!

I was just going to do the NHS class/es as the nct ones are a bit pricey and we don't have the cash spare really as still got so much to buy for the baby!! Presuming the midwife helps us book the NHS ones? Nothing has been said yet.

I had to go online & book them about 26 weeks last time. Pretty sure I got a leaflet about it at 24 wk appointment last time but as I don't get a 24wk appointment this time can't fully remember

My midwife told us about the classes and gave us the forms to send off at my booking appointment! They're apparently really over subscribed here which doesn't surprise me as the next nearest maternity unit is shockingly bad so no one goes there who has any other option. We have active birthing classes in January because I'm having a home birth then the standard antenatal ones start in February I think! I'm quite excited about them, I'm not nervous about having baby here or the birth yet I don't know if I'm going to go into a blind panic nearer the time lol I'm just too excited to meet her!

Nothing prepares you I found your body just does everything it's suppose to. I think the best thing to think about is pain relief and write it down in a pad or something and follow, it's painful but if you can mentally say right I'm going to have this then this and this if I can't cope then it will be better for you your oh and midwife lol, as all the huffing and puffing calming place and back rubs go out the window when your screaming get it out I can't do it!! But hey ho that's just my opinion, it's like the baby books nothing can prepare you they can advise of most things but only you will know when your baby cries a certain way whether it's hungry ill wants a cuddle etc you should trust your body and it will always lead you in the right direction. I was a baby myself at 17 when I had my daughter and 18 when I had my son I didnt have a clue what to do but my motherly instincts kicked in as soon as they were born (well through pregnancy as I knew what was normal with my babies pattern just like youall do now :) ) xxxx

Yet I saw that but then some sites day 27 weeks some 28 and then my thingymajig says 11th jan I'm 26 weeks now x

I had my consultant appointment today and was given steroid injections for baby's lungs I have to go back for another set in the morning, my consultant said as I am having a few uncomfortable Braxton hicks and my cervix being rubbish as it is it might become irritated so he is being careful. Also I am now being scanned every 2 weeks from 26 weeks and seeing him on the day too I will have another set of steroids at 26w and the final set at 28 which will cover me upto 30w so I have a fortnightly goal now xxx

I've just worked out 28 weeks will actually be the 11th wow this is going so quick x

Leanne this little lady is certainly giving you a run for your money! hope all is ok hun.

Woohoo! We have a plasterer! he is starting the job in 2 weeks! Im so excited!
X and x
