Well ladies I went for my scan and i have been put forward a whole week soon am 10 6 instead of 9 6
Had to come back to work after and hubby has taken scan pics with him so will have to update later. Got to go back free next Friday for another scan as baby just too small for measurement needed for screening. Baby is 4cm long and was moving about. Such a difference in a week and a half.
So so happy xx

Had my early scan today! We are totally unsure of dates due to miscarriage that started on 13th July! I had an internal scan and I measured small. I think my fiancé said about 2.79mm and there was no heartbeat. So we have been referred to EPU for a further scan on 26th September. Both the sonographer and EPU midwife said they couldn't date me because of the size of the measurement, they wouldn't even put a rough guess on it as they didn't want to be liable for giving false hope! grrrr!

Anyway from what I can work out this measurement would be for around 5/6 weeks so it could be quite possible that I am too early on for their to be heartbeat!

My doctor dated me from my last miscarriage which I didn't think was right so I have tried to do some calculations of my own. I took a pregnancy test on 29th July (I had another medical apt and they needed proof I was no longer pregnant as my notes hadn't been updated from miscarriage!) and that was negative. I got my first pregnancy test on 19th August and it was very faint I tested again on 22nd and it was much stronger! From these dates I think it is quite likely that I could be around 6 weeks or less and so what we saw on the scan might not be as negative as I first thought! What do you girls think? I know I can't be certain of anything but just trying to get things as straight in my head as possible!

If that is the case you are completely right that it would be too early to detect heartbeat. A few women on here had that torturous wait and all was fine at the next scan. good luck!!! Xxxx

Naomi I have had some quite worrying cramps all the way through even made some ooh ahh noises with some and again alot of ladies have experienced this. Xxx

Hi flynnbear. When i got my 1st early scan with this pregnancy i measured 2.9mm and was dated 6w1d, there was a flickering heartbeat but thats not the sane for every pregnancy at this stage as the heart starts beating between 5 1/2 weeks and 6 1/2 weeks so it looks like your dates are fine and the next scan will show a lovely strong healthy heart beat and happy healthy baby
