I am CD6 today and having my bloods done tomorrow morning. I wasn't told to have them at any specific day by my doctor she just told me to get them done when i was able to. i don't have a clue what is right and what is wrong. I will speak to the nurse tomorrow and question it x

Have you ever considered temping to be 100% sure of Ovualtion? You dont have to be perfect at it

I did think about it. I know next cycle (once AF comes) I am going to use digital OPKs which I think will be way easier for me. I dont know much about temping to be honest.

I am having some dark brown like spotting/CM well once when I wiped today so thinking AF is coming and pretty sure I totally got ovulation wrong lol

Have you had blood work to confirm you are ovulating @GeekMaker i only ask as it is possible to have a surge and not ovulate and I think you have mentioned before your periods are irregular? If your period isn’t 2 weeks after a surge it could be because you didn’t ovulate?

Here's the list of tests that my doctor requested from my bloods:
- Full Blood Count
- FSH
- LH
- Progesterone
- Urea & Electrolytes
- Ferritin
- Liver Function Test
- Prolactin
- Thyroid Disease.

Char - I'm with Sophie. I'm almost certain FSH and possibly LH needs to be days 2-5 of cycle. Progesterone needs to be day 21 (or thereabouts depending on your cycle length and when you think you ovulated). I don't think it matters about the others but might as well have them done at the same time as one of the others.

As you already hate needles, I'd hate for you to get them done at the wrong time so the results are inaccurate and you go through the worry thinking there's a problem as well as needing repeat tests. This happened to us with one of my OHs tests and it really wasn't nice!

Glad you've got the ball rolling though. It's a big step forward.

I think some doctors check the basic blood tests like thyroid etc first and sometimes the other tests come later? Every place is different x

Awhile back I had a bunch done that was good. I think if I did ovulate I missed it because I was using these terrible little strips (they refunded me) and I didnt realize how bad they were until I read reviews. What I wanna do is try digital OPKs and if I dont ovulate or seem to, go to the doctor.

Unfortunately, the doctor isnt the most helpful and I keep wanting to switch but not doing it.

Sorry for the long drawn out reply. I feel awful, no spotting since this morning wasnt gonna test but my husband is convinced this time is it lol I think its my body being all out of sorts. So if its not here I will grab a First Response for Sat AM testing. But I really think I totally missed my ovulation.

I am newer to tracking it I kinda winged it before as in average cycle day but come to find out, lots of people ovulate on other days not just the standard 14 day in.

Weird thing is I never had AF issues until I TTC. It was always regular! lol

Ahhh yeh, I don’t always ovulate but my surges vary from cd14 to cd25. Id definitely recommend the clear blue opks they are very easy to use and you can’t really go wrong with them x

For me cheapies work - i do once @ fmu thats it - but i never get a super positive, usually just positive but i am weirdly relaxed enough to take that as it it sorta thing!!
Re Clearblue defo worth a try - another FMU only test .flashing smileys mean nothing tho really, it can mean your about to O but thats about it .. last cycle i never got a + one step or clearblue. And clearblue gave me flashing smileys right past temp spike! Just be cautious with them its the static smiley your looking for.

Geek, I definitely recommend you get the clear blue opks. In my opinion so much better to read than the lines on the cheapies and I know you struggle with the lines.
It’s just 3 things your looking for on ten clear blues. Solid circle means not ovulating, flashing smiley is your getting closer to your fertile window (when I see the flashing smiley I DTD every other day) and then the solid smiley means your about to ovulate so get baby dancing over the next 3 days!! X

I’m really struggling this morning, I don’t know whether it’s my hormones due to pms or because I’m currently undergoing different fertility treatments at the clinic and coming to the end of my first failed cycle but I’m sat at my desk at work and two people are talking about pregnancy and babies as ones pregnant with her second, and it’s just making me want to cry.

When will it be our turn? Me and dh are good people, we are charitable, we have good steady jobs, a family home, a steady loving supportive 10 year relationship. We tick all of the conventional ‘boxes’ but still nothing.

Id agree with Char they r potentially good at giving you a time to dtd every 2 days. If i rebought them it would be only to get flashing smileys & get a start point for dtd every 2 days.. if you want them to find your surge only then you have to wait for that static smiley

She said at the moment they are just doing standard tests and if they need me to go back for day 21 or any more the doctor will tell me once my results come back. She definitely seemed like she knew what she was talking about so I’m not going to doubt her.

I was in the room for about 15 mins because she was having trouble getting blood from me again. She managed to get a small tube from one arm but needed more so she had to go into my hand on the other arm.

This sounds so sad but I’m so proud of myself, I am so bad with doctors, needles etc such an achievement for me to go on my own and not cry like a baby! Hahahahaha x

Nah, if I get to day 40 then maybe but I’ve had longer cycles than this so it’s not massively unusual yet, just a bit odd based on the last two.

Okay hun, totally understand why you want to wait to test then. My cycles still go all over the place, sometimes i ov CD15 sometimes CD20 so annoying! x

I cannot wait to use these! Do you use first morning urine? My period still isnt here yet but once I hit like cycle day 10 I wanna use them I think.

I told my husband I might need to use more at first if I ovulate later than the average lol but he doesn't mind.
