Anyone else in their 40s?

Syd this is positive news you are definitely pregnant ! Congratulations :-) Blood in urine must be a UTI as you hadn't got spotting. I'd love to say don't worry but since I've found out I've been peeing on sticks far too much, I'm on constant knicker watch, I'm preoccupied with what-ifs, I know I shouldn't worry but I think we may have to accept it's part of the process of having a baby until we get to Tri2 xxxxxx

Thanks Clementine. Yep, I can't imagine relaxing until I at least get to viability and even then I know I'll be worrying about premature labour. I have some scar tissue on my cervix which could cause problems, and an underactive thyroid. Plus my mum had the three of us at 37 weeks, 28 weeks and 30 weeks although the doctors tell me that doesn't mean I'll have any issues. Still, one step at a time :)

Amazing news Syd :) Great news to wake up to! I agree with the others, sounds like you have a UTI, did you get any antibiotics? Hope it clears quickly. In the meantime, yay for being pregnant!!

Thanks Nikkers. He's sent the sample away and will let me know in 2-3 days if it is a uti in which case he'll give me antibiotics.

How are you feeling Syd, other than obviously worrying which is entirely understandable! Any symptoms? Let's hope all you ladies who have got BFP's fly through Tri 1 and all the anxiety that goes with it X

I feel absolutely fine, no symptoms whatsoever. Had a bit of a cold last week but that's literally it.

Fingers crossed your fab positive opk this month leads to good news for you!

Great news Syd!! That must have been a dodgy test yesterday then!! Thats amazing its happened again so quickly for you :) FX this is your rainbow xx

Syd try & drink some Cranberry juice as it's good for kidney infections, and don't worry about thyroid I have had an underactive thyroid since my early 20's the last scan showed my thyroid was pretty much gone (I have thyroid antibodies) I see my Endocrinologist twice a year, he increased my daily Eltroxin by 25 last 2 times I got a BFP. He said once they know you have it they can manage it. He also got my blood tested at 5 weeks and then planned to do it every 5 to 6 weeks. Make sure they test Free T4 and Free T3 as well as TSH, as the Pregnancy hormone hcg can cause an incorrect false low on TSH. His target was to keep my TSH around 2 during pregnancy and my Free T4 towards the upper end of the range. Stay positive xxxx

Thanks Staces.

Yep Clementine, my thyroid is well under control. I have an endocrinologist out here, when I was pregnant last time he said the levels were perfect, I'll go and see him again in a couple of weeks.

So I'm fairly sure this one isn't going to stick... I did an ic this morning and it was still a complete bfn. I know they're not always reliable so I got a regular clearblue and a clearblue digi. The digi says prenant 1-2 but the line on the other one is definitely fainter than it was on Saturday. Neither Saturdays nor todays was fmu so it's a fair comparison, there's no way it should be fainter 3 days on.

I'm going to see if the surgery will do a blood test, I know if hcg levels are falling there's nothing that can be done but at leas I'll know instead of all this uncertainty.

The strength of line can vary depending on so many factors. Mainly how dilute the wee is. If you drunk more today than 3 days ago it could well be fainter.

Also mine didn't gradually go up it went up in jumps. It stayed faint for a crazy long time x x

Hope it's the same for you hun x

C'mon babies of wiser women your mummies are waiting for you x x x

Wiser women, I like that :)

Thanks Ery, just at docs waiting to be seen.

Fx hun I just added my progression because I was sure this bean wasn't going to stick too at the start because the line wouldn't progress then it just took off.

Wishing you all the best and all the luck in the world x x

Syd hopefully you get good news from the blood results, sending you lots of sticky baby bean dust. I'm worrying far to much myself but try your hardest not to worry. Ery is right hcg levels can be different for each pregnancy, but the Pregnancy Tests are like the only thing we can cling to in the first few weeks, I think it's recommended not to keep testing (though I've done 8 already) it's all so stressful especially when we would love so much to have our take home babies. Xxxxx

Thanks clementine. I know I shouldn't keep testing, it's just that I haven't had a decent positive yet whereas by this time in July I'd had blazing positives.

Medical system here is amazing, the doctor has told them to rush the blood test through and he'll call me tonight with the result.
