i boil her water in morn and put it in her bottles ... (which mw said was fine as long as i didnt mix the milk) and then i use the lil milk dispensers and measure scoops in and they sit in bottle, and when she wants her bottle mix it up and go!! she gets them room temp!! :D it means theyre always fresh :D

my sil whose lo is 2 months older thought i was terrible, once she seen me doing it for a month she tried her lol with room temp bottles and tada.... drumroll..... she took them the exact same lol .... :D xx

blimey can't believe they are saying that.

I always made the bottles with boiling water and left them to cool. Then used one of those milk powder containers , which you can also sterilize if you like, has 3 compartments , and take that out with you in your bag. We did like Tiny, and never heated it up, baby never knew any different , and was great for traveling about , tip, shake and feed in seconds , good at night too, take three bottles and a powder tub up with us.

If I can't breastfeed or express and feed this tiome, I will be doing that again

also agree with toon, babies can have it too clean and they need to slowly build up there imume system

I dont think Ill sterilise after 6 months. Paige is already shoving anything she can in her mouth  As MMG&I said, if theyre licking the floors...whats the point!

Im debating giving them to her at room temperature now....making life a little simpler lol.

oooh tell me more about these milk dispenser thingies.... they sound like something to make my life easier!

We always put the water in the bottles and left then at room temperature then just added powder

as for sterilising, I found jack laid in the play nest sucking the dogs ear and she wouldn't fit in the steiliser

 @ mrsh!!

ive got the milk dispenser things which actually go inside the bottles, they're tomme tipee ones tho, dont think theyd work with other brands! and the 3 section ones, they do them cheap in home bargains and tesco

i use the milk dispenser thingys they r beill for when you go out 2. and i just make up six for the day so ur not there constanting counting our scoops

the milk dispenser thing i use is 6 sep. compartments that sit inside tommee tippee bottles theyre fab... £2.99 from asda for 6 :) my sil put her 3 month old onto room temp and she took to them straight away no prob so u soo shud lol xx

God, this all sounds so complicated. Emily is only on about 1 or 2 formula feeds a day so we just use the ready made stuff xxxxx

lol it does, ready made milk didnt agree with madison, she cud use powder and be fine and ready made brought it all back up with cupl of mins cos i bought bout 12 wen i was preg for emergency and i used about 6 randomly till she was 2 months and had to give other 6 away lol xx

I always did it how you said to start with but now I do it differently after getting some advice from a friend who's got a 7 month old.
Now for the next day I sterilize the bottles then an hour later I boil the kettle and fill the bottles for the next day with the water straight from the kettle then I put them in the fridge and when I need them I just heat up the water in bottle warmer then add the powder and shake. So much easier than making them up when she wants them :)

I used to do the same as a few of you ladies i added the boiling water to the bottles....cooled it with lids on in sink full of cold water ( to cool them quickly as not to give it time to grow any bacteria) the kept em in fridge until i needed them and had my milk powder in little pots ready to add to take out with me!!!! x x

Before DS ended up on the SMA Staydown we used to do the same as Melio, would, for example, put 4 bottles with 3oz boiled water on the side with the lid popped on and cooling down then when needed would top up with freshly boiled water to 5oz added the powder and ended up with a perfect temperature bottle of formula!!!
Considering they are saying there is bacteria in the powdered milk, this must not be the same for the SMA Staydown cos it has to be made up with fridge cooled boiled water everytime......strange stuff!

I always put cooled boiled water up to 4 oz then when Ethan needs a feed add fresh boiled water (which i keep in a flask) up to 6oz and you have a feed thats at the right temp. I did try adding the formula to water that is a room temp but he is on cow and gate comfort milk and i found it goes a really weird concistancy if the water is not warm. Has anyone else found this? :D

oooh ive only used the ready made stuff!
