a year and still no joy

hi all.

well ive officially been off the pill for a year now and still no baby pitcher. so upsetting.

as you all know i got made redundant a little while ago so to me thats more of a push for a baby as i have more time on my hands etc but unfortunately someone out there obviously doesnt think so.

anyone else struggling at the minute that would like to buddy up with me and help each other out.

also has anyone any good tips or any products they know of that can help conception. would really appreciate it.

Hi nadia. Just wanted to say chin up chicken, it'll happen. Have u been to docs yet about maybe having some tests done? Or how about temping yourself just to make sure you ov etc so you can rule stuff out and save time for when u do go to docs, only reason I say is, I've been temping and turns out I don't ov, and would of been none the wiser if i didn't temp as I'm having regular periods. Anyway, I'll be your buddie, cos it's really getting me down too, let's try n cheer eachother up. All the best Hun, it WILL happen

i will look into temping. i haven't looked before. what does it involve.

yeah would love to buddy up. its such a struggle but like you say we will get there.

It's really easy Hun, just get a basal body temperature off eBay, dirt cheap, then register with fertilityfriend.com (free) and every morning u take your temp, enter your temperature on fertility friend and it tells you when/if you ovulated. Will just put your mind at rest if nothing else x

Hi Toni, I just went on the fertilityfriend website and it was really useful!! Do you mind if i ask-how did u find out you dont ovulate? was it from just taking ur temp? I have been taking my temp-first month-and there has been no change and when i told my doc he said that taking ur temp wasnt that accurate...i am waiting for day 21 blood test so will find out then.

Have you gone to the docs for blood tests yet?

Hi Nadia, it was August 09 when we started trying, and I've been off the pill since June 09. I know exactly how you're feeling, a whole year is a landmark time period, before that you can at least tell yourself it's been less than a year of trying!! I would't mind trying not to stress and just waiting for it to happen except I have a lovely 4 1/2 yr old daughter and I'm so stressed thinking how every month she's getting older and the gap is getting wider between her and any would be syblings. I so badly want her to have a brother or sister.
I've been to the gynaecologist who scanned my womb and ovaries and said they look normal but I've got a fertility appointment for January 2011 because that will be 18 months of trying. I'm praying I won't need that appointment.
So glad to come on here and get moral support, think I might start temperature tracking this month

Hi Hayley, that's interesting, I hope it's not accurate, but I have been temping for six months and never had a thermal shift, plus I've never had a positive opk and I never get fertile cm, all this considered, I doubt very much I ovulate, I'm having my bloods done in sept so then they will prob put me on clomid (I hope) x

Aaw, I really wish you all the luck in the world with ttc. It's only my second month and it's driving me bonkers already! I take my bbt every morning and feel that it's helping me to get to know my body a lot more. I do have the temperature shift, but no other obvious signs of ovulation.
Toni - you mentioned clomid - what is it? I've heard girls talking about it but don't know what it is.

Hi Lucia, don't know too much about it as yet but it's a fertility drug you have to take on certain days of your cycle, and hopefully it males you ovulate. They don't give it out willy-nilly though as it increases chance of multiple births, here's hoping

i am getting all the signs of ov and regular periods etc so hopefully all will be ok.

im going to book doctors on monday just to try and get checked that all is ok.

have had alot of stress etc over the last year which doesn't help but would still of thought i might of had some joy.

I know exactly how you feel hun xx
when you start ttc you just expect it will happen quickly, If I was you Id go to the docs and get your bloods done as this is the only confirmed way to detect ovulation, temping didnt realy work for me as Its hard to do at the same times etc plus the doctor told me to stop as it can stress you out and they dont belive its accurate either.
Another thing to note is I always expected ov around mid cycle and babydanced like crazy, when in fact it wsnt picked up until day 24!
