Thanks ladies :)

Ouch Angela, that sounds so painful! Here's hoping that doesn't happen again for you or any of us!!

My little one is still fairly active but there's no real pattern that I can monitor at the moment, as I know it can vary so much at this stage. It depends what I'm doing too; if I have a busy day at work then I don't feel her move as much xx

My baby has been quiet but seems to move once I try to go to sleep which is typical

Glad its not just me! the kicks have been softer but then suddenly i will be booted! x

Eeeek Angela! Can't believe you actually heard it too, think I'd totally freak! I'm definitely keeping my fingers crossed for that one not happening :-)

Glad your appointment went well KWarbee.

I'm a few weeks behind some of you so not noticed a change in movement. Glad you've mentioned that thanks BonzE as would probably have been worried when it drops down.

Has anyone been to the baby show? Wondering about whether to go to the Birmingham one in May for a mooch xxx

Lovely bump KWarbee :)

Lola, I haven't been to the baby show but was considering the one in May!

I'm off to try out a pregnancy yoga class in the morning, I feel nervous for some reason lol like the first day at school.

Xx

I went to the Baby Show in Manchester a couple of weeks ago. I went specifically to find out about different types of slings and baby carriers and to look at change bags. Given this is baby #2 and another boy we don't really need anything else. I found it really good and enjoyed looking round at all the random stuff you really don't need and all these futuristic looking high chairs and electronic baby rockers.

I think for a first time mum it might be tempting to go and see everything all in one place, but I think it would actually be too daunting. You'd go with this big list of stuff you need and you'd probably be able to get all of it sorted in one go, but that would be a very expensive day (even with show discounts) and also by the time you'd looked at 20 prams in an hour it could get so confusing. The other problem is that if you see something you like at the show you'd only get the show discount on the day, so you wouldn't be able to go away and do much further research or price comparisons. As I was only getting two things I was able to use my phone to check prices and reviews online and ensure I was getting good deal.

However, if you've got a short list of products that you have researched and like, then a baby show might be a good place to see them demonstrated next to lots of different examples, and then get a good deal if the price is right on the day.

That's just my experience and opinion of baby shows though. They are also very busy and there are lots of buggys being pushed round, so if you don't like crowds then i'd stay away. DH hates being anywhere that is too busy, he's a touch claustrophobic, so would have hated going. I went with my best friend instead and we had a nice girly day.

Lovely bump pic Kwarbee ans glad your appointment went well :)

Ouch Angela that didn't sound pleasant at all hope no damage was done
These little ones can sure give some kicks

Anyone know what being pregnant and coming into contact with someone with chicken pox is?
Had my nephew over at the weekend and he has today come out in spots which they are saying is more than likely chicken pox x

When are girlies heading over to Tri 3 by the way? Are some people heading over at 27 weeks or 28? My ticker says I go to T3 on 21st April which is when I'll be 28 weeks.

Laura - it depends on whether you have definitely had Chicken pox or not. If you have definitely had it, you should be fine. If not, or you are not sure then you will need to see your midwife/GP.

Thanks Toni my mum seems to think I've had it but it's not a definate 100% had it
Might ring midwife incase x

Thanks everyone :) you're all very kind!

I just got the biggest nudge/kick yet  it was so strong and felt more like a head or butt to me. I think she must be enjoying the 80's music on the radio!

I haven't been to the baby show but I'd be tempted to if was near us. Birmingham isn't far at all so I might check that one out. Thanks for the tips, Toni! By May we will hopefully have most things so it would probably be just a small list of things we'd hope to find there, hopefully!

Enjoy your yoga class tomorrow, Kaylip :)

Not sure at all about chicken pox, Laura. I would call your midwife just to check x

Toni, I think most of us plan to head over at 27 week. My journal tells me 28 weeks is Tri 3 too, but I think it varies a little bit everywhere. Keen to head over sooner rather than later!

xx

Lola1, We went to baby show in Excel couple of months ago. Was totally worth it and would recommend to go. You get a lot of freebies, but also can see and play around with all the different brands! It was too early for us to buy back than, but helped to make a lot of decisions!

Omg, just realised, it says "Still 99 days until my due date"! Double digits now..:))

Thanks girls that's really helpful. Totally get what you mean Toni about feeling overwhelmed. Hopefully we won't need loads by then so might be able to just enjoy a look around and stick to buying just a few things.

Sorry KWarbee missed your bump pic somehow- looking lovely :-)

Happy DDD Ingridika! :-) I'm gonna miss you all when you start moving over but will keep having a sneaky read of how you're getting on :-) xxx

Just posted a tutti bambibi argos link on main page
Mattress down to £24.99 from £69
X

I refuse to believe your bump is measuring a week behind Kwarbee, you look great!
Glad appointment went well and that your OH heard the hearbeat.

Happy double digit day Ingridika, me tomorrow :)

Dentist said my gums were swollen and cleaned/scraped all around the edges to get rid of any bacteria that may be causing the bother, ouch! Has brightened my teeth up nicely though and will hopefully get rid of the pain soon.

That matress deal seems good Laura, you have such an eye for a bargain!

Heading off to midwife shortly for 24 week check. Hoping to hear HB again and will be getting MAT1B form for work so can sort out Mat leave for me and paternity leave for DH.
