Hi Ladies,

Just wondering if any of you were told where your placenta was lying when you had your 12 week scans? I wasn't told about mine but not sure if it is something they do at the 12 week scan or not?

xx

They typically don't tell you as it moves as the womb stretches over the next few weeks.

At your 20w they'll tell you if it's near the cervix, other than that, probably not.

Feel free to ask at your next scan, or you can see if you can see it on your 12w pic if you're curious xx

I don't really know what i'm looking for on the pic to be honest and not sure if I did see it I'd know where it was 'situated' if you know what I mean?

I wasn't told boosh but I asked and they said it looked like in was at the front...don't know the technical term! X

When I mentioned it she said she would look and let me know but then the little monkey wouldn't do as she wanted and I think she forgot but she did say that it might be too early to tell! Oh well I guess I'll have to wait until my 20 week scan to ask :)

All the pram talk is very exciting!! I've a bit of a dilemma with ours. A colleague has a whole travel system (minus raincover) that's three years old and pretty scratched, but otherwise perfectly fine and serviceable, that he's offering us for £70... Logically I know that a whole travel system for £70 is too good a deal to pass up, but there's that little spoilt part of me that would really be disappointed to miss the excitement of choosing a pram ourselves for our first baby.

I'm really torn - going to go and look in Mothercare to compare a few but I know the second hand one is a good choice - but I also know deep down that I'm going to feel disappointed if we get it, even if I have no reasonable reason for wanting a new one other than 'to have a new one'. Husband says it's my choice completely, but I'm really stuck!

Any advice?? :S xx

Boosh, re the placenta, I was told they'd look and check placement at the next scan. Didn't give any indication at this one.

And that's officially the last time I try to wear skinny jeans all day. Man, that was uncomfortable.

I was told mine was anterior meaning it's at the front and I won't feel movements until about 22 weeks :(
She didn't mention it being low but I noticed on my note sheet from the scan it says 'anterior low'.
Do you have notes where it may be mentioned?

£70 is amazing but I totally understand you wanting new.x

Ps. A woman from my work found out I'm pregnant today.
She said to me 'I was just thinking at Christmas your bust was a hell of a size, I wonder if she's pregnant'

Another you, I feel completely the same! First baby and I'm
Excited to choose and research everything from pram to cot to sling! I'm not one to look a gift horse in the mouth but I'm only going to have one first time baby experience! However my sister has lots of clothes and a Baby bath etc, bits that aren't big 'emotional' purchases!

Having said that I haven't been offered anything second hand so don't know what I'd do! X

Congrats Nicky, I updated you :)

Any flavour guesses now you've had your scan?
You sharing pics? Xx
Thank you

I am thinking girl again but only because my pregnancy has been the same as my first so far, no other reasons 😃

I've tried to upload pic but it says file too large and I'm on iPad so not sure how to shrink it?

Xx

Upload it to tinypic.com and paste the "forum code" in this quick reply box.

How do you feel about a second girl? I get that it's a "typical thing", but like, if one more person tells me I "must want a girl this time as it'll be kind of a waste to get a second boy", they may find themselves on the receiving end of a waaaaaaay overblown proportion of a pregnant girls hormonal patience loss.
So effin rude. Xx

A waste to have two children the same gender??? How very dare.... Give 'em both barrels.

Today's job will be streamlining my wardrobe and putting out of sight the clothes that are already too snug. Had muscle pain all week and convinced a bump is popping out any day now. God knows how I'll handle being heavily pregnant cos I feel like a whale today.

14 weeks tho, so officially tri 2 and the shopping starts!

I've a hella-bump.

Bloat's definitely gone as it's quite solid now. Lost pretty much all the "squish".

I took full-length profile pic of myself pre-pregnancy.
I have the jeans still, and I'm trying to find the same top to compare.

I've seen some people combine pics, like 12w and 20w scan, for example, so they post as one pic.
Anyone know how to do that/can it be done on iPhone?

(I miss photoshop terribly :()

In other news:
Those that have the mum-to-be bounty pack from Boots/Argos, are any of you using any of the vouchers for free stuff inside?
If I had a car and would be heavily using a car seat I'd get a canopy (just £10 postage), but I don't so it's not worth it.
I already have a sling from last time.

Blah blah blah.

If anyone wants a second code for their mum/friend/whoever to order one or whatever let me know (assuming the codes are different? They look very generic...). Just thinking if there's like, two car seat canopies you really like... Get both.

Also in other news:
My lil boy is TWO tomorrow!!!

Believe me ladies... It frickin flies by. Xx

Thanks hon :)

I added your scan to the front page.

I hope the headache goes soon :(

Just keep drinking plenty of water xx

Soooo...

Money's burning a hole in my... Online pocket...(?).

I wanna buy a cot and blankets and clothes an all that fun stuff.

OH and I have agreed to wait until he's over here in Feb and we've had the 20w scan, then we'll buy our first baby-thing together (even just a babygro or something), and I think that will amazing to do that together, but...

Urgh. I wanna buuuuuuuy!!!

Nothing wrong with virtual-window shopping. You can have a list of what you want in all categories by the time he gets here. I'm about to head out for my first look at prams for real rather than online. Wish me luck!
