_>•~*X*~July 2015 Mummies-to-be!!!~*X*~•<_

I had a tour at the beginning as had to choose which hospital and was struggling so my lovely midwife set it up!

Boosh, I've given you a blue and yellow front page, since you thought blue anyway at first guess.

I'm sorry you're sonographer was a cow :(
Just bare in mind that it's "easier" to "see" boy-bits as the umbilical cord often sits in the way so it may well have been that.

Just back from IKEA. Got a bunch of bits including two teeny photo frames that are perfect scan-size so I can put one of DS and one of lil girly in :) xx

I had a water birth with DS and did hypnobirthing it was lovely and we had a really relaxing and calm experience. It was in a midwife led unit at local hospital, so like you mention you get the best of both worlds. Nice calm experience, but just down the corridor from the consultant led centre should you need further assistance. Will be going for the same again this time round - but have been advised not to deliver in the pool as they want more control over the actual delivery due to a tear last time round.

I've just started watching the childbirth all or nothing programme and am already shouting at the TV and I'm only 2 minutes in. The women sat round having lunch criticising calm water births and telling the poor pregnant woman that they are unrealistic and don't happen like that has really annoyed me. It is possible to have a very calm and relaxed birth without drugs and without pain and screaming - I know I've done it! Anyway will keep watching and hopefully the other women will be less annoying!

Oooh, the midwife just walked past my kitchen window.
Live on a small street and haven't noticed any teeny babies, there must be another preggo floating around. She did my booking in appointment at home so I'm assuming that's what it was.

I'm so nosey. Might go knocking on doors and see if I can make myself a pal

I didn't realise they did hospital tours. I suppose there wouldn't be much point with myself as I work in the actual Maternity unit, although not on the delivery suite. Do they tell you anything extra on the tour?

I'd like to think that I'm capable of a calm birth but I'm just convinced that I'm going to be a nightmare. Everyone else that knows me thinks I'm going to be awful too, which is a little disheartening. I'd like to prove them all wrong by coping amazingly, but who are they to judge anyway?! My OH makes light jokes about it and we laugh that I'll be like a demon but he's probably the only one that thinks I'm capable of doing it without tearing the place down. It bugs me a bit...the loudest opinions are always people without children too, funny that!

Sorry, bit of a rant there!!

Lacey, those photo frames sound lovely. I'm putting all of my scan pictures in my pregnancy journal at the moment but it would be nice to have a couple in frames.

Good luck finding the other preggo on your street, Crawkay! :)

xx

My tour is part of the preparation for labour and birth class we have booked at the hospital.

I can imagine I may be a bit useless, I'm crap with pain and like a bit of a whinge. I'm hoping adrenaline and the desire to meet my little one will carry me through :/

Could you imagine if I just went knocking on every door, ha? Think I'll give it a miss.x

Ah ok, I might have the same when I book my classes too. When are you having yours?

I'm the same. I can't handle period pains sometimes.

 Keep an eye out for a lady with a bump walking around xx

We have two booked. That one is 17th May and new baby practical is 24th May.
It was my midwife who advised I got them booked in straight away. I did it through the hospital though.
Hopefully little things like that will help to make everything a little less scary.

I need to book mine soon then really, I know they get booked up really quickly here too. I think I'll find the classes really useful. I feel like I don't know really anything about pain relief and they do a session on that so that'll be helpful xx

Hi ladies
I am growing a little concerned
The last week or more baby has been active several times a day
The last two days not so much maybe felt her 3 times today
should I contact someone or is it still too early at 22 weeks
Maybe she is lying differently? :(
Worried x

If in doubt phone the midwife always!!!! :) that's what they are there for :) and she will advise you best.

My little man is quiet and lazy ive had no kicks a few flutters and that's all :(

Hi Laura, I spoke to the midwife about his, she said te baby tends to quieten down from 22/23weeks for a few weeks as they go through a. Growth spurt. She said to start tracking movement from 25iah weeks. But defo call midwife if you are at all concerned!

Xx

Thanks ladies I'll give her a call tomorrow
I keep getting a throbbing feeling inside but feels like it's inside my vagina too
Really weird :( x

I get this! Baby might be feet down and kicking/moving? That's what's happening with me so less kicks up high!! X

Ive felt that throbbing sensation it is weird :( should add my little man is breech so that might explain it.

I'm sure she will put your mind at ease when you phone :)

Thank you ladies
These little monkeys sure know how to worry us already hey x

Fanny daggers -i get them all the time! And i feel kicks in lower abdoman/pelvis/bladder s9 man be feet down!

Scan in 3hours in awake.....and excited but so so tired :(
And its my first birthday as a mummy :)

Xxxx

Apparently the throbbing we feel is the placenta. It's the blood rushing round that pulsates! I feel mine externally as well due to where it's lying!! Don't worry too much about movement yet. It's not classed as regular until you get to 28 weeks!! But you may begin to notice patterns earlier. You are all very lucky as I still haven't felt anything :-( xxx

Hope midwife puts your mind at rest Laura.

Happy scan day and birthday Claire :yay:
