Thanks Lacey!

Crawkay, I have not experienced it myself but I can imagine I would feel exactly the same way. It's lovely that you have your little one wriggling around in there but I guess today will always be one amongst many others when you stop and think of your other little one.

I recorded that programme about Childbirth and will probably be watching it this evening. I love anything pregnancy and baby related.

Not seen anything from Boosh, hope her scan went ok and everything is well.

21 weeks today :)

xx

Thanks girls :)

The programme is a bit graphic in places (full view of a c section) and very weird in places (people putting herbs on their baby's placenta while it's still attached and some group spiritual ritual)
Nothing that I could relate to at all really but interesting anyway.

Hooray for 21 weeks. Every week is a countdown to baby now rather than a countdown to halfway.x

I don't mind graphic :) I once had the opportunity through work to see a c-section when I was working on an obstetrics trial and I'm gutted that for various reasons I never got to see that, I would've loved too.

Hmm, not so sure about the whole spiritual/herby side of things but I'm sure it'll be an interesting watch.

I know, it's so surreal to think it's 19 weeks to go now. Closer to meeting baby than we are to our lmp's (hopefully, if our baby's aren't all really late!) xx

I watched that programme earlier. Was good.- i cried when all were born!hahahah sat at work watching it on catchup sobbing my heart out!lol

My UTI test came back clear - not in so much pain, still bits so guess its just where baby is lying! Feeling lots of kicks and turns at the moment which excites me :).
scan tomorrow - cannot wait :)

Glad your results were clear and hope your scan is lovely tomorrow Claire.

I was naughty and prodded my tummy just now to see if I got a reaction. Got a big kick, I clearly annoyed baby. I did the same yesterday by putting my phone on my tummy with music playing, that got a few kicks too. Baby probably hates me. It's just hard knowing I can kind of interact with him/her. I must learn to leave them be.

I can't believe how many girls are due! I wonder if it will even out lol z

Hi Ladies,

Had the scan yesterday and all was well and measuring spot on which we were happy about!
Sonographer was a bit of a cow though when we said we didn't want to know the sex she said 'well it's not standard procedure any way!' so I was like ok fine just give us a warning when you go down to the legs and she said 'well you won't know what you are looking at I will so it's ok!'

She started the scan and the little monkey was face down legs curled up and the first bit she hit (through no fault of her own) was the legs and inbetween - I am now convinced that we are having a boy there was no mistaking it (unless I was imagining it!). So officially we don't know and are staying team yellow but we both think we saw boys bits!

After that I had to empty half my bladder which is a task in itself to try get a better picture and measurements - when that didn't work I had to walk round the hospital for 20 minutes to get it to move so she could get a good head measurement.

Finally after an hour she managed to get all the stuff she needed and said she was happy with it and it was growing well!

My OH then asked to confirm which way it was currently laying and she snapped at him 'I don't know it keeps moving so it could be in any position now' so he said well do they not favour a particular position like adults do in bed? she said 'no its a baby it doesn't think like that!' I mean come on she could of just said yes they may do but it's hard to tell as at the meoment it has a lot of room to move about! It kind of spoilt it a bit for us becasue at our 12 weeks scan the lady was so lovely and answered all our questions.

I'll try and upload a picture in a bit as it doesn't seem to want to do it on my phone! it's not as clear as our 12 week one!

xx

Awww, lovely. You're getting a little wave there too :)

Shame you think you saw boy bits when you were hoping to stay yellow. Still a bit of mystery there though, you may have got it wrong?...

I never understand grumpy medical staff, you'd think they'd all be nice and caring people based on the profession they've chosen. Suppose everyone has off days though, maybe you just got unlucky.
I've been lucky, both scans were done by lovely ladies and with 20 week she asked us if we wanted to know before she even started.x

Boosh so glad scan went well, sorry to hear you had an old cow do it!

The tv show was an interesting watch, I am pretty alternative (homeopathy, acupuncture, reflexology etc) but certainly not ritual circles, eating my placenta or keeping it!! Spoiler alert...I did love the water birth that lady had; so so calm no screaming baby calm, I was a bit like lift it's head out the water!!

Baby has been kicking lots, hubby feeling it now and I can even catch the kicks on film!! I find it very uncomfortable when I get kicked in the groin...not nice!

I like the idea of a water birth but definitely in the hospital. I hate the thought of a home birth, far too much of a worrier.
I was the same as you, desperate for her to lift the baby, she seemed to keep it's head under the wate for ages!

Mad that you can see the movements.

Ooh, I can't wait to see kicks on the outside. OH felt 3 definite kicks last night, he was so pleased.

I'm tempted by a water birth too but I guess sometimes it depends on availability. Any reason why you wouldn't want one in a hospital Crawkay? I also couldn't have a home birth, it doesn't appeal to me at all!

Boosh, I'm so glad to hear your scan went well but sorry to hear that you had a grumpy sonographer. So many of them seem to be like that. I don't understand it at all, surely they should understand that it's a momentous thing for us parents-to-be! Mine was a bit grouchy at the 12 week scan but when she saw me a few weeks later and realised I was staff she was much nicer...typical!

xx

I wanted a home birth as I hate hospital and have only ever been operated on when iv been taken in (not every time but many) and hate the thought of having a grumpy or off midwife/nurse however my hubby was to worried for me to have the baby at home so we opted for a birth centre attached to the hospital! I liked the calm of her birth, but am open minded to anything happening and going with the flow!

Re movements from the day of feeling more pronounced kicks to seeing them it's been about a week so not long at all!

I'm just far too much of a worrier to have a home birth. I always think that if something was to go wrong during the birth then the best place to be is as close to hospital as possible. I can understand when people really dislike hospitals and the calming environment of the home though, it makes sense but I'm lucky that I've had no negative experiences at hospitals.

I think a birth centre is an ideal in-between xx

I hope so! The one bear us seems really nice and has large birth pools and rooms with dinner lights etc...here's hoping!! X

I gave birth to my 1st daughter in a birthing pool in a midwife led unit , it was lovely, very peaceful and I pretty much let my body do its thing my midwife was just talking to me giving me encouragement. I hate hospitals so I would rather not give birth there. This time around i am considering a home water birth , I would have never thought about it for my first but as ive done it once before I know what to expect. IM not 100% sure yet though lol still a bit scary x

I'm really lucky where I am. The birth centre is on one floor of the hospital and the delivery ward is directly above it. Best of both worlds.
Ideally I'd like to be in the birth centre but just knowing further help is so close will be a big comfort.

Have any of you got hospital tours booked yet? Ours is mid May, less than 12 weeks away!
