6w3d scan and only dated as 4 weeks

Hey Everyone

I'm very new to this pregnancy thing. Had my 1st pregnancy in April which sadly miscarried at 5 weeks on the 18th April, which is also the date I am dating my current pregnancy from as got pregnant straight away after and now 6 weeks 3 days.

Have been having twinges on my right side, no bleeding or anything, and went to the Early Pregnancy Unit today. Because of the possibility of ectopic they wanted to do an internal scan. This showed a gestational sac in the uterus, but no yolk sac and I have been dated as 4-5 weeks with unknown viability.

I do have longer cycles, sometimes up to 33 days, but know we would have conceived no later than the 5th May because thats the last time me and hubby were able to do anything before he went away with work for a few weeks (give a few days after for sperm viability). By the time he came back I had a positive test.

I've had a blood test for HCG today, awaiting the result and get it repeated on Sunday. Really hope it hasn't stopped developing but just know my dates are right, so not feeling too hopeful.

Has anyone else had this situation?

With my second preg i was 6 weeks with no yolk and sadly ended in mc
I hope you get good news hun. Sometimes things develop slower than normal but catch up eventually x

You could have 7 days after sex with hubby before sperm met the egg if yoy arent certain on ovulation. Do you have a follow up scan booked. Try not to get too down as nothing is certain yet, you may have implanted later too so I suppose you just have to wait now to see what happens at next scan. Fingers crossed that all is well for you hun. Sending a big hug xxx
